I think you trot your best possible lineup out each day you are alive for the division. I think when you start getting too cute withholding players is when you get into trouble. Then the blame game starts if you lose game 162 without your best lineup and then also lose 163. -
I feel like Santana has far more upside than Broxton. If he can regain his 2017 form, an outfield of Yelich, Cain and Santana would be unbelievable. Yes, in theory, that sounds great, but we still have Braun on the roster, and probably always will... He's probably an 80 game/year player the rest of his career, he can also spell Yelich/Cain for some games as well.

I'd much rather face the Rockies at this point. They are struggling mightily to score runs and are on a downward trend in general. I think I heard they have only scored runs in 2 of the past 36 innings! The crew needs to keep the foot on the gas pedal and do everything they can to host that WC game. I think to have any chance of catching the Cubs, we are going to need to go something like 9-2 to finish out the season. That means taking the next two against the Reds, go 2-1 against Pirates and Cardinals, and sweep the Tigers. Probably not likely, but it still seems like there is a small window to catch the Cubs. -
Woodruff screams of a guy who has a very bright future with the franchise.

Its just crazy they can't figure out how to beat the Pirates of all teams. That 3 game series against them next weekend looms very large. I certainly don't expect the Pirates to roll over for us. -
I can't believe the Cubs have to travel to Washington tonight after this to play an afternoon game tomorrow haha.

Would be great to get tonight's game and keep the pressure on the Cubs. They have a pretty tough schedule down the stretch, including three games to end the season with the Cards. It would be great to keep the division race alive heading into the final weekend and see what happens.
