  1. Three lefties starting for the Cubs this weekend. Would be a perfect weekend to bring Hiura up play Moose at 3rd base!!
  2. The obvious move now would be to bring Huira up to play 2nd, move Moose back over to 3rd and bench Shaw. Shaw needs to show something quick or could be a part time player soon.
  3. This pitching staff is dreadful. Shocking how many journeymen have taken the mound this year already coming off of an ALCS team. I just don’t see how it turns around short of major internal improvement. I would not have a problem being sellers this year knowing some of the pieces that would look appealing to other contenders.
  4. Omg I totally meant Wilson not Smith haha. My wife just had twin girls two weeks ago, sleep deprivation is catching up with me!
  5. The pitching staff as presently constructed is not good, as we are seeing by the numbers. My solution would be to sign Keuchel, wait for Nelson to return and start him in the bullpen. I would move Burnes back to his same bullpen role from last year, where he seemed much more effective. I would also bring up Zack Brown and use him in the bullpen until Nelson returns. Of course Jeffress should be back soon, which will also help the beleaguered bullpen. I would jettison Petricka, Albers, and Barnes immediately. When Nelson comes back, you can either send Brown back down or see how Alex Wilson is doing at that point. This pitching staff needs a shakeup in my view, and that is what i think Stearns should do.
  6. If you believe national prospect rankings and Braves fans, their trio of Soroka, Wright and Touissant ranks right up there. I would take our three over those three hands down. I am giddy thinking how good this rotation could be if and when Nelson returns to 100%. Add Zack Brown as our #5 next year and I think you potentially have the best rotation in all of baseball.
  7. Is there a better young starting trio in baseball than Peralta, Burnes and Woodruff?
  8. I'm probably in the minority, I'd let Freddy start the 9th inning and see what happens.
  9. Is Hader definitely down today? I bet it will be awfully tempting for Counsell to bring him in for the 9th if this stays 1-0.
  10. Is there a better young trio of starting pitchers in baseball than Peralta, Burnes and Woodruff?
  11. The silver lining is the longer he goes unsigned the lower his price tag becomes? Guessing his month of April is already pretty much a wash.
  12. I support this move 100%. Could have an absolutely dominant bullpen this year.
  13. Stearns must improve the offense this offseason. The disparity in hitting between us and Boston is pretty glaring. The Red Sox are constantly putting pressure on the opposition and driving in runners in scoring position. If we want to be a likely World Series champion like they are, we have to get close to where they are offensively in my opinion. It will be interesting to see how Stearns goes about this going into the offseason.
  14. I have a ticket for Saturday and I will yell until I lose my voice if we win on Friday!
  15. I would give Santana the start in RF and have Braun at 1B on Friday. Aguilar looks lost at the plate and needs a breather.
  16. A stunning turn of events after being up 2-1 and riding high.
  17. I 100% support this move. Aguilar looks totally lost, at least give Santana the start game 6 and see what happens.
  18. A stunning turn of events after being up 2-1 and riding high.
  19. We are being outclassed by a team with more playoff experience than we do. The experience factor is showing up big time these past two games.
  20. Why would the team wait until the NLCS to go into its biggest offensive slump of the season?
  21. The offense has to pick it up. We aren't going to win a World Series hitting like this.
