  1. They need Braun to be able to tough it out for at least a couple ABs against the LHP tonight
  2. With Braun’s struggles again and not being able to play a bunch even in a short season, I think he’s a good bet to hang it up rather than limp through a full season again. That said, the brewers will Probably cry poor after this season, so he could be a part of a soft platoon with Vogelbach at DH. And they still would have room for a legit bat at 1B
  3. Maybe Hiura could have less of a slowpitch softball swing so he could hit it a bit more often?
  4. That Nottingham HR just went a long way to saving any realistic chance of a brewer postseason
  5. I have dish network, so I can’t watch brewer games other than on my phone. This one is on YouTube so I can watch it, but I wish I couldn’t
  6. And he’s going the other way a lot. It’s insane that there’s actually a brewer who focuses on contact with 2 strikes
  7. The approach to hitting has just been awful this year. Only Vogelbach (for now) even thinks about shortening up and/or slapping the gall to beat the shift. The softball uppercut swing for the fences approach with the entire opposing side of the infield open and continuing with 2 strikes even is ridiculous
  8. My only guess is they prefer Nottingham with Burnes. It would’ve made more sense to start Burnes game 1 then
  9. Piggy backing them would create a monster. But that makes too much sense. When you start with an opener and make the other team lock in a lineup, you could then come in with someone against that platoon advantage. Stack your LHB for Houser, then you’ll see Suter against those LHB and you’re not going to pinch hit in the 4th/5th unless you want to burn your bench (then be stuck with RHB vs right relievers after Suter)
  10. With a deep farm and Yates being a FA, the Padres would make sense as a trade partner. In addition to a good prospect or 2, Moreland (they have young OF to play) and Mejia (they have Nola and Campusano) would make sense as a trade partner IMO
  11. I was big on houser, but he’s really showing that he makes more sense being used more like Suter.
  12. I agree that they have been disappointing and frustrating to watch, but I will agree to disagree that the eye test outweighs stats (which also indicate that they have been disappointing in relation to expectations, but it's certainly not a stretch to consider them at least average players still) You know what they say. Stats can say whatever you want them to say, aka stats lie. Ok-make it look statistically like Sogard is having a good season
  13. As stated many times on this blog, Andujar has been horrible since his only good year in 2018. He has to prove he is anywhere close to a MLB player again before being part of a big deal. Frazier is another journeyman type with bad defense. Dime a dozen type player. Gil hasn't even seen AA yet, so he is far from MLB ready. Schmidt isn't close either. The Brewers could easily do better. Andujar has barely played since 2018 so it’s not like he’s been awful since his good year. And if Frazier is a dime a dozen why don’t the Brewers get some players that can have a career 112 OPS+?
  14. You’re absolutely right. They want to expand the game but how don you get a new fan to watch 20 strikeouts a game and see balls in play? Slap some oppo hits, bunt to best the shift, and maybe don’t swing for the HR with 2 strikes!
  15. Great a DP. If only there were a way to only make 1 out while moving runners over

  17. It should’ve been Sogard getting the boot
  18. It should’ve been Sogard getting the boot
  19. Lol not only did that cross high, it stated out even higher and was never in the zone
  20. Small victory-a brewer at least out a ball in play in the first inning
