  1. Why is Bradley continuing to play over Taylor? Oh that’s right, Bradley sucks, but stands in the lefty batters’ box and gets paid more. That’s more important, apparently.
  2. The one time Huira doesn’t strike out is when he does something even worse than a strikeout
  3. Bryant would be the ideal pickup for the Brewers. Whether 1B,3B, or CF is the biggest weakness, or Wong being hurt again so Urias moving over, Bryant can cover defensively. And the biggest individual offensive need is a righty power bat
  4. Yes it might. He also might continue to be an awful hitter and is there a point where the offensive production is just too lacking to play him? He's already barely playing. He has 83 ABs this year; compared to 145 for Hiura and 246 for JBJ, Pina's offensive struggles are having almost zero impact on our bottom line. I know. That is why I brought up Joey Gallo to play 1B/CF for those 2 positions of weakness. I was just also thinking Catcher would be an easy way to upgrade offense with how putrid Pina has been.
  5. Yes it might. He also might continue to be an awful hitter and is there a point where the offensive production is just too lacking to play him?
  6. What about a catcher with an OPS of .744, .724, .702, and .751 over the last four seasons and plus defense? If so, he's already on the team. Oh you mean the guy with one hit in the last month? And an OPS+ of 51 through this season? I’m just not convinced he isn’t starting to fall off. That would be nice if he could get back to being a decent hitter though
  7. To me it's just a little too much potential disruption to team chemistry and the pitching staff to replace the backup catcher in the middle of the season. Narvaez is going to start the vast majority of games anyway, so there is very little to be gained even if things work out. The question is, how anemic of a bat can you allow to exist in the big league roster until you replace him?
  8. I know his defense and presence are top knot have, but an easy upgrade would be replacing Pina with a righty catcher who doesn’t hit like a pitcher. A cheaper, controllable backup would be Eric Haase from DET. He’s hitting decently, and his last 2 MiLB seasons were solid too. Plus he can play some OF
  9. Huira has been absolutely horrid this year. 7 games doesn’t change that. Although I do think they’ll give him a couple weeks to see if hes got something figured out. But that’s also why it makes sense to get a versatile 1B like Gallo who could coexist with Huira on the roster. Or go the cheaper route with Asdrubal Cabrera
  10. Pretty much. And with the way rest and matchups are always factored into the everyday lineup, it seems obvious that supplementing Urias and Hiura with a LH bat that can play both corner spots is the logical way to boost the lineup. Shaw isn't it. Colin Moran statistically makes a ton of sense. He does, although I’m not sure how much of his 3B defense can be tolerated
  11. I'm not 100% sure the Brewers won't be interested in bringing Garcia back... I also don’t think Garcia being in the team would be a block to Gallo. CF/1B and the likely DH next year
  12. He’s at 0 defensive runs saved on bbref at 1B so no that isn’t horrible. I also couldn’t find where he said he never wants to play infield again. He definitely didn’t say he wouldn’t play any if asked to. I doubt he’d be against playing some first base just for 2021 if he got the extension he wished for if he got traded
  13. In a perfect world he’d be a righty bat, but Joey Gallo would be a versatile power bat. He could immediately play a lot of CF and 1B and take over RF next year. Maybe they’d get cheeky give him some time at 3B too. For what it’s worth, baseballtradevalues had a close value for Gallo and Ian Kennedy in exchange for Tuarang, Frliciano, and Tyrone Taylor
  14. The shift made him field from the SS position and his body responded accordingly
  15. JBJ is still hitting like trash but stands in the left handed batters box so off the the bench with you Tyrone
  16. Lol 2 runs per game ? It’s probably closer to 3 on a good offensive team but we don’t get many on base so he might have a lot of solo shots. You forgot to put the sarcasm in blue. I assume you don’t actually think the Brewers would go from 4 runs/game (22nd in MLB) to 6 runs/game (1st in mlb) because there are literally zero players who can increase a team’s scoring by 50% by themselves
  17. Lol 2 runs per game ?
  18. I was really hoping they’d immediately start playing Taylor over JBJ. It doesn’t matter if JBJ is hitting against lefties or righties since he can’t hit either
  19. Mancini makes the most sense of any trade target in my opinion. Righty power is just missing out of this lineup. Plus, with garbage offensive CF production, Mancini could start at RF and Avi in CF until later in games if they want Big Dan in the lineup. It would likely be selling low, but maybe the Orioles have some interest in Huira as a starting point in a trade?
  20. At least this pathetic offense is above the Mendoza line as a team....barely. A .156 hitter swinging hard and missing with 2 strikes on a high fastball is the perfect end to this game
  21. He needs a platoon mate at the least. And with Urias’s versatility (and lack of establishment as a total regular) it would be good if that platoon plate could also play 3B. Asdrubal Cabrera makes the most sense to me.
  22. By choice most likely. So I'm not sure why that is infuriating. Because they didn’t either signed him or a replacement. And the production out of his 2 spots, especially vs LHPs, has been poor
  23. How about Brad Miller (.280/.346/.475) or Jake Lamb (.242/.356/.468)? Both of those guys were out there for most of the winter. Gyorko is still a free agent. Which is especially infuriating with how poor 1B/3B have venom and with how desperately a RHB to go between those 2 positions is needed
