  1. Like the playoffs showed in an even bigger way, a strong hitter is definitely needed. Here’s a list of potentially available/affordable hitters who could be in the middle of the order while not blocking all of the prospects coming up within the next 2 seasons: -Brandon Lowe- 1B/2B with Turang playing some SS -Jarren Duran -Cody Bellinger-ideal fit if not too $ -Max Muncy-If LA upgrades 3B -Jorge Polanco - might have to DH too much to fit
  2. It would be sad if he went to the dodgers, but LA would only be able to play him at 3B. But, maybe that would make Max Muncy available. He would be a very good 1B option for the Brewers
  3. It would take a Schwarber-level Bat to realistically consider blocking DH with Yelich and Contreras, and Quero coming too
  4. I think of one especially good fit on paper for who you describe: Cody Bellinger. IDK what their immediate plan is for 1B next year so Bellinger could help out there and OF
  5. Turang, if you’re gonna have such a crappy approach all postseason, let yourself get hit at least
  6. With Priester being a groundball pitcher, and Lockridge as an extra sub possibly for Yelich late, I would DH Churio if he does play at all. But playing Collins isn’t an awful idea either
  7. lol @ this lineup today. Also, for the love of God why not just IL Yelich to rest him and bring up Hoskins?
  8. Siegler had been very unlucky so far and might be the best 3B option vs RHP. Bauers should be dumped for Hoskins. Idk what about his 338 slugging this year and 359 for his career makes him a HR or XBH threat, other than being a big guy at 1B
  9. In a three-player trade, you typically don’t want to end up with only 3rd most valuable player. Sigh
  10. Bullpen. Especially with Miz getting short starts
  11. If they don’t end up getting someone else who costs a little bit of $, they should’ve just kept Nestor and use him as a piggyback with Miz. they’ll say prices were too high to make a trade yet they just threw away a decent MLB arm
  12. Yea but both him and peralta would’ve had 2 days to work together for today. If for some reason not everyone was on board for that, Jansen should probably at least be DHing for Yelich vs a LHP then catch next series sometime
  13. And just like I wondered how Perkins would get playing time before yesterday then that solved itself, I wondered why Contreras was in the he hits a bomb
  14. Nowhere did I say anything close to Cal Raleigh being the bar. My point was that for a catcher to be playing as much as Contreras, you’d think he was hitting like Raleigh. Because he is hitting more like Ortiz (650 OPS last 2 months), maybe a reasonable amount of days off would help. It sure wouldn’t hurt
  15. The LHP and hitting better yesterday is why I’d probably DH him instead of Yelich today, but Contreras has a 706 OPS in the last week so it’s not like he’s been on fire. his 649 OPS over June and July shows how much he’s struggling.
  16. You’d think we have Cal Raleigh catching the way Murphy can seem to give him a rest. But really, Contreras has been closer to Joey Ortiz. Plus Jansen vs a lefty is a good bat and Contreras should be at most DH today. It’s becoming asinine at this point
  17. Only occasionally. I would assume Lowe would play more 1B than anywhere else
  18. To me this would be like getting Ryan O’Hearn but with a better track record and ability to play 2B: I’d go after Brandon Lowe from TB. LHB at 1B/DH and occasional 2B.
  19. Kwan wouldn’t be the typical homer offer of “our quantity for one stud” offer like that one guy in every fantasy football league does
  20. Suárez has never played 1B but he’s a bigger, slower infielder so I wonder if he would fill in there also. And that would relieve some of the “where will Durbin get AB’s?” Concerns
  21. I’ve been hoping for more of a slugger, but I’ve always thought Castro was the most likely acquisition for the Brewer offense. Especially if they don’t want to play Durbin/Turang at SS but want someone else to push or replace Ortiz. He’d be a solid and reasonably priced option. Maybe Tyler Black for him?
  22. The prerequisite is that this trade is done very soon to help 1B while Hoskins is out, but I’d like the fit of Bellinger basically replacing Bauers. The Yankees have plenty of bats at 1B/DH/OF and could use pitching. So maybe give them the choice of Quintana/Nestor plus another piece. It could help both teams.
