  1. Siegler had been very unlucky so far and might be the best 3B option vs RHP. Bauers should be dumped for Hoskins. Idk what about his 338 slugging this year and 359 for his career makes him a HR or XBH threat, other than being a big guy at 1B
  2. In a three-player trade, you typically don’t want to end up with only 3rd most valuable player. Sigh
  3. Bullpen. Especially with Miz getting short starts
  4. If they don’t end up getting someone else who costs a little bit of $, they should’ve just kept Nestor and use him as a piggyback with Miz. they’ll say prices were too high to make a trade yet they just threw away a decent MLB arm
  5. Yea but both him and peralta would’ve had 2 days to work together for today. If for some reason not everyone was on board for that, Jansen should probably at least be DHing for Yelich vs a LHP then catch next series sometime
  6. And just like I wondered how Perkins would get playing time before yesterday then that solved itself, I wondered why Contreras was in the he hits a bomb
  7. Nowhere did I say anything close to Cal Raleigh being the bar. My point was that for a catcher to be playing as much as Contreras, you’d think he was hitting like Raleigh. Because he is hitting more like Ortiz (650 OPS last 2 months), maybe a reasonable amount of days off would help. It sure wouldn’t hurt
  8. The LHP and hitting better yesterday is why I’d probably DH him instead of Yelich today, but Contreras has a 706 OPS in the last week so it’s not like he’s been on fire. his 649 OPS over June and July shows how much he’s struggling.
  9. You’d think we have Cal Raleigh catching the way Murphy can seem to give him a rest. But really, Contreras has been closer to Joey Ortiz. Plus Jansen vs a lefty is a good bat and Contreras should be at most DH today. It’s becoming asinine at this point
  10. Only occasionally. I would assume Lowe would play more 1B than anywhere else
  11. To me this would be like getting Ryan O’Hearn but with a better track record and ability to play 2B: I’d go after Brandon Lowe from TB. LHB at 1B/DH and occasional 2B.
  12. Kwan wouldn’t be the typical homer offer of “our quantity for one stud” offer like that one guy in every fantasy football league does
  13. Suárez has never played 1B but he’s a bigger, slower infielder so I wonder if he would fill in there also. And that would relieve some of the “where will Durbin get AB’s?” Concerns
  14. I’ve been hoping for more of a slugger, but I’ve always thought Castro was the most likely acquisition for the Brewer offense. Especially if they don’t want to play Durbin/Turang at SS but want someone else to push or replace Ortiz. He’d be a solid and reasonably priced option. Maybe Tyler Black for him?
  15. The prerequisite is that this trade is done very soon to help 1B while Hoskins is out, but I’d like the fit of Bellinger basically replacing Bauers. The Yankees have plenty of bats at 1B/DH/OF and could use pitching. So maybe give them the choice of Quintana/Nestor plus another piece. It could help both teams.
  16. If Turang wasn’t a good 2B, everyone would say he shouldn’t play SS because he couldn’t handle it. Because he is a Gold Glovf 2B, people say he should stay at 2B. By that logic, once somebody plays 2B, they could never play SS. I’m not saying to move Turang to SS, but this team needs hitting and can’t seem to find any on the left side of the infield so they should be flexible. That’s why I liked the idea of trading for Brandon Lowe this offseason, for example
  17. You literally said to never move a Gold Glover, bro. Then he provided an example of moving one that worked out, bro. Then you moved the goalposts because of being proved wrong, instead of just saying “good point” bro
  18. But that DH opening should definitely be going to Contreras or Hoskins. Bauers there doesn’t make sense
  19. It does. And this is a small nitpick by me. But why use a utility guy as a DH and not give Churio, for example, a DH day? Make it at least a spot to rest an everyday guy and Collins can play corner OF
  20. Now that Perkins will Miss the beginning of the year, the Margot signing looks a lot more useful since he will likely be the backup OF to start vs LHP. He still hits them well
  21. Quintana makes a lot of sense
  22. There are many contracts where I think “that’s an overpay and the Brewers could use that money better” so in general avoiding FA overpays is a good thing. However, if the choice is between an overpay for 1 year vs doing nothing, I’d take a 1 year overpay. I wouldn’t be surprised if berlander is not worth $15million, but I’d rather have Verlander than nothing
