  1. I think we definitely get better secondary pieces if Profar is the headliner. That being said his injury issues are definitely a concern. In my best case scenario if we are trading both Lucroy and Smith we can take Profar + Brinson as Gallo scares me too much.
  2. Agreed. As far as that goes, no one on the entire roster should be off limits right now.
  3. Yup, that was probably their only major move of the deadline. In all seriousness, the Red Sox may be all in. If they are, I could see Lucroy and Jeffress to the Red Sox for a package centered around Moncada or Andrew Benintendi, with Rafael Devers as piece #2. It's pretty well known that Dave Dombrowski is willing to use the farm system to win now. He is the anti-Theo Epstein. I was thinking the same thing. Dombrowski has a long history of trading top prospects for proven major league talent, and he's shored up the SP spot the Red Sox were in need of with this trade, but they still have a hole at catcher. As far as Lucroy and Jeffress for Moncada AND Devers...for sure not. Lucroy and Jeffress for Moncada alone would be absolutely MASSIVE for our future. Maybe even Jimmy Nelson instead of Jeffress to further shore up their SP. Imagine a Moncada and Arcia middle infield. A guy can dream right...
  4. Yes I would take this deal in a heartbeat. Any deal which brings in Brinson and Taveras makes me very happy. As far as Cleveland goes, there is a 0% chance of any trade happening that doesnt include at least 1 of their top 5 prospects. We've been hearing Stearns values Lucroy very, very highly for a long time now. No way does he let him go without at least one of their best.
  5. I think this is a pretty reasonable return, especially if its Matuella is coming instead of Tate. Would really like to see this happen.
  6. If we are packaging Lucroy and Nelson together we better be getting Moncada/Devers + Espinoza/Benintendi. This is also probably why a package of those two together won't happen.
  7. Assuming that Gallo is the only big piece we get when trading with Texas, I would much rather take Brinson + Tate/Ortiz. I would not be upset with Gallo but he really is a major, major risk. Still would rather trade with LAD/Boston
  8. I am against trading with the Mets, really dont have the farm to be in the running for Lucroy and they wont be trading away any of their starting pitching
  9. You're right, it wont happen but dear god would I love Moncada. Maybe Lucroy/Braun/Jeffress (or Smith) for Moncada + Espinoza?
  10. Crawford is the only SS on par defensively with Arcia, and even that is arguable. Really don't see any of those players starting ahead of Arcia, and would definitely prioritize a different position in a potential Lucroy trade. That being said if Turner were on the table I definitely wouldn't be upset with him as a centerpiece. Also wouldn't mind Rodgers, think we would move him to 3B.
  11. I'll say it once, I'll say it again, I would kill for Robles. His tools are absolutely out of this world. I really think the Nats would consider Braun for Robles if we were willing to pay a chunk of his salary. And if it were me, I'd be willing to fork over big bucks for Robles.
  12. Christopher Crawford ‏@CVCrawfordBP Love the Ray pick for Milwaukee. The Brewers are SO much better at this than they were just a couple years ago.
  13. As I said earlier, I think you have to take Lewis if going positional, and Puk if you're going pitching. As far as choosing pitching or position, that is not easy. Don't think I'd pass up on Lewis if he falls to us.
  14. For me, if Lewis is still available at #5 I think its a no-brainer (at least as far as position players goes). Throw Puk in the mix as well and youre right, that would be fascinating.
  15. Sure, I think this can be helpful in the bargaining process, but not really enough to even add on another lottery ticket prospect. Just think it adds to the ever growing list of why Lucroy is the best trade chip this season.
  16. Not sure if the format is weird for you guys as well, but I saw this trade proposal and thought it might make for a good discussion. I would absolutely love to take Robles off the Nats hands. http://www.armchairallamericans.com/lets-trade-ryan-braun/
  17. Don't look now but Lucroy's average is up to .320 on the season. The man is still a top 3 catcher in baseball and is performing very well. Thats all we can really ask right now
  18. Yeah this is a pipe dream but hear me out. What about Lucroy + Smith/Davis/any relatively valuable piece for Turner + Robles Please don't wake me up.
  19. I think this qualifies as an "insane" return for Lucroy
  20. Jim Bowden ‏@JimBowden_ESPN 1m1 minute ago Brewers get 3 teenagers in return for 1B Adam Lind according to Brewers source.
  21. Tom ‏@Haudricourt 18m18 minutes ago I am told Rangers covet #Brewers catcher Jonathan Lucroy but I'm not sure they would trade him now. Would have to be huge return. Gallo would certainly qualify as a huge return
  22. Could not agree more. Happy its not just me that thinks half of these packages are no where near good enough for Lucroy. Maybe I'm too high on him, but looking at the market for catchers and how cheap he is, I would be livid if we didn't get much more than some of these packages. Edit - I'd like to add we got Phillips as the center piece for the Gomez trade as reference. I would imagine we should be able to get a similar ranked prospect (20-30) at the very least, as center piece for Lucroy PS. Long time lurker, first time poster. Good to be here!
