  1. Some things I need to get off my chest that are absolutely killing me: 1. The Today Show pretending to be a serious news show when it really is just agenda pushing info-tainment... I really don't care what Matt Lauer or Al Roker thinks about Global Warming or GW Bush...I'm pretty sure I could have guessed without ever watching the show... The Daily Show is a more reliable news show than Today?s Show?. arrrgh! 2. Pretend political scandals...Replacing 8 US attorneys is not a scandal...it's not illegal, it's not unethical, it's not even improper. It?s part of the Presidents job. It would be like saying Herb Kohl was in the middle of a scandal for firing Terry Stotts. Why has it been on the news for 4 freaking days?!? Man I hate politicians. They're all so slimy. No matter what your political slant you have to admit the mudslinging is getting out of hand. They should go back to dueling... I feel better...thanks.
  2. CoCo picked up right where he left off...good to see. 1-2-3 inning with 2 K's. Come on April 2!
  3. Bill's first, " When Prince hits 'em...they stay hit" reference God what a douche...
  4. It's on for free... Also...CVarg ...not so good. Doesn't seem to miss many bats does he?
  5. Brady, I liked Maybin the most of any non-Gordon prospect that year. I still to this day, think he made end up being what Ken Griffey Jr was pre-injury. That being said, I like Braun and think he has a special bat. He was undoubtedly closer to the big leagues than Maybin during that draft and I think that was a big part of why the Brewers selected him. Maybin may be a perennial all-star type player in 5 years or so. The thing is Ryan Braun may very well have already appeared in a few All-star games during that same time-span.
  6. Nope that's an old 1980's Brewers theme song...and it rocks!
  7. I don't think it's Hall misplaying balls...those balls were smoked! 2 of the 3 went off the wall and the other one was a HR. The ball carries quite a bit in AZ.
  8. That's what I meant. I guess I misread toby's original post.
  9. . Since when is this the case? Every IGT I've been too has included a PBP. Isn't one of the goals of the IGT to provide a means to "hear" about the game for those that might not have access? If not what's the point? Who wants post after post of WOO! or YES!
  10. I agree 100%. I was actually at Summerfest 05 when he did double duty and opened for Chesney and then played a full show at the Miller stage. He was awesome. Did all the old stuff: Here I go, George's Bar, Dancehall dreamer...it was really cool. I hope he doesn't cram too much stuff off of the Cannonball album in this show. I've heard he plays a lot of the older stuff when he plays smaller venues. We shall see...can't wait.
  11. Ahh yes...congrats to a certain graphic artist on the design! I like it a lot!
  12. Not sure if this is the right place for this but I can't help my excitement! It is music related and I didn't want to start a whole new thread...anyway. I just bought tickets to see Pat Green at the House of Blues in Chicago on March 4! I've seen PG once before and it was the best live music experience of my life. The guy knows how to play a crowd. I'm extra excited because it will be a more intimate crowd, which is more of PG's forte. Not only that but the girlfriend and I got a great rate for a hotel room within walking distance from the HOB on Hotwire. $79 for a hotel on E. Wacker...nice! Anyone else have any upcoming shows they are looking forward to?
  13. Potential 2007 WI draft guys: Zimmerman RHP UWSP Cal Stanke RHP UWO Adam Dominick RHP UWW Nick Rice LHP Kenosha Tremper Andrew Paulaskas RHP Tremper Kurtis Muller OF Sun Prairie Kyle Neslon RHP Madison Memorial That's about it for me.
  14. We had a showcase this past weekend and had 7 2010 grads that threw harder than 74 mph.
  15. What do you think of it Brett?
  16. I'm glad I found this bad boy...that new Google search thing is cool! I might get skewered for this but... Just got and gave a good listen to John Mayer's "new" album Continuum and I have to say it's awesome! I always liked Mayer's sound a little but thought he was trying too hard to fit the "pop-radio" tag. I think this album shows a little more of what he's really about, a bluesy and soulful artist who could fit in with the best of Memphis. Not many of these songs are real "radio friendly" but a bunch of them are super bluesy and super cool. Mayer almost reminds me of a less edgy Joe Bonamassa or Ryan Adams minus the large doses of chemicals and taking himself a lot less seriously. Either way it's one of my new favorite albums. Songs to check out: Gravity Bold as Love Dreaming with a Broken Heart In Repair Waiting On The World To Change
  17. Good luck Geno! Godspeed and hurry back.
  18. Scouting lesson of the day for those of you interested in that sort of thing: The picture of Savery pitching is a good example of a pitcher whose arm action has an upside down takeaway. (look at his hand position in the picture) Being upside down is usually considered a bad thing as it can put extra stress on the shoulder and elbow. Price on the other had does not. Great comparison pictures of mechanics Colby! (even though that was not your intent)
  19. I don't mean to be a jerk but that was the worst "scouting" report I've ever read. It sounded like a compilation of stats, snippets from articles, and fluff thrown together. I guarantee you the author has never seen Braun play in person...and if he has he has no more business evaluating prospects than any of you on this board. I've heard/ read about the project prospect guys...they were soliciting on another board that I read. Not true professionals but merely hobbyists trying to make a name for themselves. Not exactly expert analysis.
  20. Nice to see Mike Brantley get a mention. He was my pick to click at the start of last season. I think he might be a sleeper to be a pretty productive MLB player. Sort of a poor man's Grady Sizemore. Time will tell.
  21. Davis is a little like Kirby Pucket...i.e. undersized high energy guy that has tools but not the "body" you like. He's got a chance to be special. He's a plus runner with an average arm that will allow him to play all 3 OF positions. He hits LH and has both raw power and the ability to spray the gaps. He's an instinctive base runner that puts pressure on defenses. Very good chance to be drafted, although his body may push him down in the draft relative to his tools for some teams. DJ Jones is a really good player that might have to go the college route. I've seen him 5+ times and he always stands out for me. He's a stocky but athletic kid, L/L and I think he'll be a 2-way guy in college. He's an above average runner, 6.7; I think and has an average OF arm. His swing shows bat speed and a level path through the zone. He hasn't shown the over the fence power but it may come. As of now he generally smokes line drives all over the field. On the mound he's a 85-87 guy from a low 3/4 arm slot and gets good sink and run on his FB...he'd be a great LOOGY in college. He also throws a pretty nice slider. He's committed to Auburn and although I think someone will draft him, it might not be high enough to cause him to forgo his commitment.
  22. Colby...yeah my comparison was more of the geography/ readiness type comparison vs. pure throwers that play short season HS ball. Probably not the best comparison but I see the paths of these two groups being similar. The power armed guys from the NE being very hyped (maybe over-hyped?)...and the guys from the SW kind of going to the back burner. I think the comparison falls short in that Porcello has a special, special FB.
  23. Is this from BA? Surely they can't be serious... I saw the kid throw absolute darts at 92-93 (and topped at 94) with an absolutely filthy slider (83-84) in Georgia this summer. That breaking ball is as dominant as you're going to see from a HS kid. I'd definitely describe the slider as power stuff. Not to mention Alderson has above average command of 2 pitches. No?Alderson doesn't throw 95-97 like Porcello and Harvey but he's a better pitcher IMO. I would say Porcello and Harvey are similar to the northeast tandem of Rogers and Rainville from a few years ago...hard throwers with limited current pitchability. Although Porcello might be a special one down the line with the ability to just throw FB's by guys at 96-97 with sink...think Mariano Rivera type FB. Alderson is your Homer Bailey.
  24. Brett Anderson (son of OK St coach Frank) was the most polished HS pitcher to come out that year. I thought he would have made a great Brewer. Colby...another LHP to keep on eye on is right in our back yard. LHP Casey Crosby from Kaneland, IL is going to be a guy in the mold of McGeary. Crosby has comparable stuff right now and figures to get a whole lot better (higher ceiling). He really has just begun to concentrate on baseball in the past 3-4 months.
