  1. Happy Thanksgiving to all..
  2. I suspect there still be a limited number of bowl games, but the normal large slate is already skewd by the later schedules of some conferences.. Maybe 12 or 13 total (counting the playoff bowl games & the national championship)..
  3. Just spitballing but with Lynchburg being in Virgina, I always suspected that they could end up in the Mid-Atlantic League. On another note, I did see some reports regarding concern by Lynchburg mgmt in being able to meet the updated facility requirements.
  4. i THINK that if we lose biloxi its because San Antonio is the brewers affiliate. If the brewers are stuck with Round Rock, it would make sense to partner up with San Antonio. I guess to keep the Timber Rattlers they would have to move up to high A The TimberRattlers are part of the Midwest League & it has been strongly suggested in multiple places that a smaller Midwest League is moving up to the High A level. My suspicion is Wisconsin survives & moves up to High A. As for MKE having control of the Carolina Mudcats, it is always possible for that club to realign with the Low A South Atlantic League..
  5. For those interested in clubs other than the Brewers (as well as the prefer decisions), BA is doing a tracker that is free/ available to all. https://www.baseballamerica.com/stories/tracking-notable-players-protected-ahead-of-the-2020-mlb-rule-5-draft/
  6. Just FYI for those trying to keep track.. Besides Ballpark Digest, Baseball America/ JJ Cooper has started their own chart representation of who is ending up where. https://www.baseballamerica.com/stories/2021-minor-league-baseball-affiliation-chart/
  7. Unlike past years when it was MLB clubs negotiating with the AAA site, now it is the MLB office & they are assigning the pairings. I've heard/ read rumblings that the final pairings are going to be announced before 12/1/20. We will find out soon..
  8. I'm doubting Indy is going to be available.... Pittsburgh is not heading to Rochester, NY. Washington going to be there instead.. As for the Twins, the talks with St. Paul are still ongoing.. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2020/11/rochester-red-wings-nationals-triple-a-twins-st-paul-saints.html
  9. In a year when economics was severely impacted, I think teams will be looking for cost effective ways to acquire talent/ fill out rosters. I suspect that the R5 draft will take on some greater significance and many teams will be looking to snare a piece or two for their roster. ------------------------------------------ 1 aspect I want to remind everyone: while there is a mechanism for selected players to be returned in the MLB portion of the R5, there is not a mechanism for that in the AAA or AA phases of the draft. Granted with the pending announcement of the realignment & farm team reductions there should be greater numbers of player available via free agency, there is always the opportunity to pick up a player or two to help at a cheap cost..
  10. FYI - Baseball Prospectus is scheduled to release its Brewers top 10 on 12/18/20.. Just in case anyone else wanted to communicate the names (but not other info) from behind the paywall.
  11. Curious to hear which 1st rounders got traded away... Lack of future trade assets & way to bring in young talent can be problematic. While it might attract Giannis today, what does it do to keep him happy 3 - 4 - 5 yrs from now.. Signed "Lessons learned from dealing with Lebron over many many years"
  12. I disagree. Too many programs having a down year in the conference. Barring all the other contenders having 2 losses, I don't see ANY B1G 10 team that isn't undefeated making the playoff. Here is how I "see" it: Undefeated SEC Champ (Alabama) Undefeated B1G 10 Champ (pick 1 of the remaining 2 undefeated after this weekend) After that... Assuming an ACC rematch going for Clemson this time around, then 1 loss ND & 1 loss Clemson both make it.. IF ND wins the rematch in ACC title game vs Clemson, ND goes to the playoff along with 1 of the other undefeated clubs (Cinci or BYU)..
  13. There is no more wind remaining in the Meatchicken sails..
  14. Saw this tweet & had to share: "Jim Harbaugh is so bad that Rich Rod is trending on Twitter right now"
  15. At this point its a scrimmage for the Badgers... Meatchicken is playing worse than a MAC school.. Eastern Michigan is real close by. Are we sure its not those guys dressed in the piss n blue??
  16. Ryan Day/ Justin Fields/ OSU just might hang 100 on Harbaugh/ Don Brown in Columbus this December...
  17. It will be interesting to see how MLB fills the affiliation spot in Rochester, NY. Just spit-balling on my part.... Perhaps Pittsburgh gets moved there in order to 'free up' a place like Indianapolis for a team that is further west than Pittsburgh..
  18. Just to be clear John - I am not comparing the lists of one team to another team. I was looking for some items for CLE and came across some lists already posted for MKE. I figured (like past years) Brewer fans would be interested in the thoughts/ opinions of others related to MKE prospects, so I posted the links here. I will also share (once located) the various groups that rank the various farm systems. Those rankings are the work done by Fangraphs/ Baseball America/ etc...
  19. Another listing to add.... (again - free/open source material) https://razzball.com/top-10-milwaukee-brewers-prospects-for-2021-fantasy-baseball/ Although a fantasy approach to the list, the player still needs to produce in order to be of value in fantasy or real life..
  20. At least Hinch is with a different organization.. Cora back in Boston is poor optics...
  21. Have to think the Mets (with new ownership) are going to be in the thick of it..
  22. I was figuring there would be a parade planned & celebration taking place...
  23. Just a point of reference.. Some have suggested that Keston Hiura is too small to play 1B (he is listed at 6-0, 202 lbs). Carlos Santana who has been up & down defensively at 1B in his career is listed at 5-11, 210 lbs (although he seems much closer to 225 lbs).
  24. Should be thirty for Low A: 8 + 12 + 10 Thanks for the hat tip! I find this stuff fascinating, but I'm always afraid I annoy people with all the posts on this, haha. I'm glad some find it interesting. sorry.. brain fart.. Your right.. My eyes saw the 6 listed for the Northwest league & used for the Cali League..
  25. Always a chance the Mudcats are dropped a level & join the Saally League (makes more geographic sense then Appleton in Sally or another Low A league)..
