  1. And brought back Cesar Hernandez (AL gold glove at 2B & led MLB in doubles for 2020). 2020 was a dogfight in the AL central as 1 game separated 1st & 3rd place. I suspect more of the same in 2021.
  2. Burnes is on the exact same calendar as Bieber (& those are all arbitration years after this season).. CLE also has tons of starters.... Heck in 18 months CLE dealt away/ released the full rotation of 2017 (Kluber, Carrasco, Bauer, Clevinger, Danny Salazar) While Burnes is is very valuable in his own right, that value is lessened when dealing with a pitching/ good rotation team (CLE/ LAD/ a few others).. I wrote it over last weekend: Huira, Devin Williams & Garret Mitchell for JRam & Sam Hentges (LHP). Doubt MKE would do that..
  3. First, it sounds like Story is no longer on the market.. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2021/02/gm-jeff-bridich-trevor-story-expected-to-begin-season-with-rockies.html Second, while Turang is very good prospect in his own right, his value in trade for JRam at this point is minimal due to the steps CLE has taken since late August 2020. In that time, CLE has acquired via different trades Gabriel Arias (SS, from SDP), Andres Gimenez & Amed Rosario (SS/ INF from NYMets) to go along with its own top SS prospects Tyler Freeman (on 3 top 100 lists, some ahead & some behind Turang) & Brayan Rocchio (1 top 100 list with Keith Law). With 5 SS guys already to sort thru (along with other top prospects for other infield spots), adding a 6th SS option when CLE has other needs could be labeled as mis-guided.
  4. I think this is placed in the right thread... (Mods can relocate if appropriate) Interesting article coming out tonight on the Athletic. https://theathletic.com/2360126/2021/02/01/mickey-callaway-mets-lewd-behavior/ Obviously LAA & MLB need to investigate & (if facts are verified) I would assume Callaway will get canned. I wonder how many others (with LAA/ with NYMets/ with CLE) have their employment status impacted.. It sounds like multiple organization knew about the issue and didn't handle appropriately..
  5. Agreed. After seeing an article on Reviewing the Brew today (https://reviewingthebrew.com/2021/01/30/jose-ramirez-available-brewers-need-trade/) I went looking for the tweet. This is what I found: MLB Marathon #Indians are listening to offers for 3B Jose Ramirez. #MLB Unfortunately, the article author (& many others) did not read the 2nd & 3rd follow up tweets from the same person/ twitter account (copied here -MT88) MLB Marathon By the off chance the #Indians go from listening, to actually shopping Ramirez, the return will be much more than what the #Rockies are reportedly getting from the #STLCards. #Dodgers, #Braves, #Brewers would be the most logical destinations. #MLB & MLB Marathon And no, it would not make any sense whatsoever for the #Indians to deal JRam unless they receive a kings ransom. They are listening yes, but not inclined as of yet. #MLB ------------------------------------------- Personally I wish the 1st & 3rd tweets went out as a single item (there appears to have been space to do so). Oh well.. This is very similar to the Hader situation for MKE. Stearns is listening to offers if they come in, but that is not the same as him calling Tampa or another team & asking for 3-4-5 different assets in trade for Hader..
  6. Just curious if they would still do the split Spring Training (pushing back all levels under AAA even further). Anyone know??
  7. Where are you seeing that JRam is being shopped??? In dealing away Lindor & Carrasco the Tribe saved roughly $30M in 2021 salary. In the past week the Tribe has signed Cesar Hernandez & Eddie Rosario to short term deals, cost @$13M of that savings for 2021. Those are moves to remain competitive now (with the young & affordable pitching), not teardown & rebuild. Why spend that money if they are still looking to sell off pieces and reduce cost further??? Ron R/ baumer16 are correct: IF JRam was being shopped the cost in trade assets would be huge. Start with Hiura. Add in Devin Williams & Garret Mitchell. Cleveland might add in Adam Plutko (or whomever is being removed from the 40 man for space). I dont believe MKE should make that trade (& I wouldnt blame them). CLE wont deal JRam for less than Fort Know at this point (& again, I wouldnt blame them). ------------------------------ EDIT: For laughs I ran a version of the above trade item thru the Baseball Trade Values simulator & it was "accepted". Looking at the values of the packages I was expecting a rejection. CLE receives Huira, Williams & Mitchell (84.4 value) MKE receives JRam & Sam Hentges (LHP) (76.3 value)
  8. Good way to put it.. Each ranking/ listing has some built in bias/ flaws. That is why it is a good practice to look at multiple sources to hopefully get a more well rounded picture (be it of the MKE prospects/ or top 100 prospects/ or the ranking of farm systems).
  9. In case anyone wants to follow the entire listing be released tonight.. https://www.mlb.com/news/mlb-top-100-prospects-list-for-2021 Quite a bit different overall from the Keith Law list. Looks like just three Indians made this MLB Pipeline top 100 list, Nolan Jones (#36), Triston McKenzie (#51), SS Tyler Freeman (#98). True and only 7 TB Rays in total and 3 of those were between #84 & #90....
  10. In case anyone wants to follow the entire listing be released tonight.. https://www.mlb.com/news/mlb-top-100-prospects-list-for-2021
  11. The Rays had 8 players in the top 70 of that list. Sort of incredible to think the Brewers have two top 100 prospects, but they would rank #9 and #10 in the Rays system. The Rays still have a top 3 farm system (likely the best) The MKE pair would be 6 & 7 in the CLE system.. Keith Law's Top 100 & Cleveland prospects making the list: 12. Triston McKenzie (RHP) 42. Bo Naylor © 76. George Valera (OF) 78. Tyler Freeman (SS/2B) 86. Nolan Jones (3B/ OF) 99. Brayan Rocchio (SS) To think neither Gabriel Arias (SDP/ Clevinger trade) or Andres Gimenez (NyM/ Lindor trade) are eligible for on the list. This is why flipping Amed Rosario is even a possible consideration for CLE..
  12. Some are suggesting online that the move opens a spot for the NYMets to get Bauer. I'm wondering if the move adds assets for the Mets to go deal for Kris Bryant Or Nolan Arenado... It will be interesting to watch...
  13. I guess chance of Marcus Semien is removed 1 yr deal at $18M to Toronto.... Word is Toronto is sliding him over to 2B.. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2021/01/blue-jays-to-sign-marcus-semien.html Excuse me $18M???? Is that in Canadian dollars??
  14. Sounding like CLE & Cesar Hernandez are close to a return. Cesar has left his winter league team to return to US & get final steps completed. 1 yr ($5M) plus club option pending physical. Sounds like he would be a bridge piece, covering 2B until Tyler Freeman (or another prospect) is ready to take over.. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2021/01/ ... andez.html

  16. Yankees & Red Sox make 1st trade in 7 years. NY gets: PTBNL Bostons gets: Adam Ottaino, Frank German (RHP prospect), $850k That speaks volumes about the market on various levels... https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2021/01/yankees-trade-adam-ottavino-red-sox.html
  17. Yes it was a bad call (& its time for a DC change), but it wasn't as bad as Gregg Williams going cover ZERO/ all out blitz on the final 2 plays of the game so that the LV Raiders could come back against the NY Jets this season. The Jets season was far in the toilet by this point. Whereas our DCs decision cost us a chance at a Super Bowl. Saying that 1 bad call in the 1st half cost GBP the game is like Browns fans screaming about the helmet to helmet hit (& non-call) at the goal line near the end of the 1st half last week vs the Chiefs. Both items hurt but the GBP (& the Browns last week) had chances to comeback & tie/ take the lead in the 2nd half of the game. Both teams did not execute & now both teams are at home watching the round of the playoffs in 2 weeks.

  19. Another listing for review.. Prospect Lovers https://b-harper34.blogspot.com/2021/01/2021-milwaukee-brewers-top-20-prospects.html Whoever is doing this blog is most likely in Japan as every team listing page 1st loads in Japanese. Make sure your computer has Google translate activated.. He has been posting his prospect lists/ thoughts for a couple years now. The list goes 20+1 deep.
  20. Jose Quintana to the LA Angels per MLB Trade Rumors/ Ken Rosenthal https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2021/01/angels-to-sign-jose-quintana.html
  21. I don't get this. Is the writer of this article saying that Dalton is the #2 pick of the 2011 draft? That's how it reads. I guess he meant a 2nd round pick for the 2nd overall pick, but it was really needlessly confusing. Really don't get why Dallas wouldn't just go with Dak. You know what he has, he's a leader(I guess, the players seem to respect him). And he's still in his prime. If he's not back from injury, then something went very wrong as he should be back in plenty of time for the start of the season. Dallas might be concerned regarding the cost for Dak & the rest of the various salaries vs the cap....
  22. Just an tidbit/ some food for thought... Kluber signing w/ the #Yankees gets work w/ former #Indians pitching development coach & now Yankees pitching coach @Blake_Matt again.
  23. Sounding like the Klubot is signing a 1 yr deal with the Yankees to rebuild his value (pending physical)...
  24. small correction/ clarification.... This season is 1 of the 4 arbitration years (due to Woodruff getting super 2 status). Majority of players only get 3 arbitration years. Unless Woodruff signs a deal that buys out a FA year, he is a FA after the 2024 season IF 2021 was a non-arbitration season, then the Brewers could have renewed the Woodruff contract for any amount they saw fit and Woodruff would have no recourse but to accept it..
  25. I really think its the NYMets gathering parts to fill future holes as they trade a package to either Colorado (for Arenado) or ChiCubs (for Kris Bryant)..
