  1. Tonight (8/8/17) will be the 3rd time this season Carolina sees Indians top pitching prospect Triston McKenzie. In the previous 2 meetings (each won by McKenzie), Triston has gone 5 innings (giving up 1 run (unearned) on 3 hits, 2 walks and 8 ks) and 6 innings (allowing 1 hit & 1 walk with 14 ks). It will be interesting to see if Carolina has made any adjustments & if so, if Triston can respond quickly enough & adjust as well.
  2. Curious why Pittsburgh would want to deal him. Personally - I don't think they want to....
  3. Agreed.. 0 votes. Next candidate..
  4. He (Hader) should be a starter until he proves to be ineffective in that role or unable to remain healthy enough to be in that role. Individuals that prove to be unable to start but have 1 or 2 exceptional skills over shorter periods are the ones that get converted to bullpen roles (situational ace or closer)...
  5. only if it stays at 9 innings. Toronto/ Cleveland had an extra inning 7 hour game last season (7/1/16 I think) that ended 2-1..
  6. I think many people are happy for Jeremy. At this point there is enough of a track record for Jeremy that he & the Brewers need to figure out a way to keep him pitching with the Milwaukee organization until his career ends.
  7. Update time.. For the games as of the end of 7/29/2107 Franchise........................W.......L........Pct 1 New York Yankees..........255....160....0.6145 2 Minnesota Twins.............236....179....0.5687 3 St. Louis Cardinals..........233....181....0.5628 4 Houston Astros...............233....185....0.5574 5 Philadelphia Phillies.........228....189....0.5468 6 Arizona Diamondbacks....226....190....0.5433 7 Tampa Bay Rays.............222....190....0.5388 8 Pittsburgh Pirates............215....192....0.5283 9 Los Angeles Dodgers.......220....197....0.5276 10 Detroit Tigers.................212....190....0.5274 ... 26 Atlanta Braves...............183....221....0.4530 27 Washington Nationals.....182....227....0.4450 28 Texas Rangers...............180....239....0.4296 29 Chicago White Sox.........177....236....0.4286 30 San Francisco Giants......168....244....0.4078 Others in NL Central 12 Chicago Cubs..............210....202....0.5097 14 Milwaukee Brewers......205....205....0.5000 23 Cincinnati Reds...........194....219....0.4697
  8. Pretty easy to outright him to AAA as he will clear waivers and is already a sunk cost, so I'm guessing that's what they will do. I think its better to completely move on.. Every opportunity he pitches in the rotation or bullpen (in MLB or MiLB) is 1 less for a prospect to develop or show what they could do.. I'd rather the chances go to others..
  9. Now comes the big question (as its very unlikely someone would trade for or put in a claim for Free Wily) - will the Crew try to retain Peralta in the minors??
  10. Which is the bigger head scratcher- Hellickson to the O's or Ramos to the Mets??? To me I think this one is more twilight zone than the Mets getting Ramos...
  11. Perhaps there is a bigger issue w/ Familia that will impact next season. Now the Mets have some coverage for next year if Familia is not back... If he is back, then they have a good 1-2 in the pen..
  12. Short answer .. no. Tigers have few assets that could bring back prospect packages of good value. Think back to last summer, if someone offered few (& unranked) low A guys for Garza and Lucroy, would that have been enough?? If you suggest Zimmerman and KINSLER, I think there might be a better chance...
  13. Saw someone comment on MLB Trade Rumors to send "Free" Wily Peralta for JJ. Might as well try.. JJ has a track record of success for the Brewers and issues playing for anyone else. Wily just needs to go. A change of scenery might do both some good.

It also has a sub .500 record (242-243) for the composite of the 7 affiliates. Only AAA Colorado Springs & the Rookie ball Arizona league team have winning records. - The top 16 organizations have .500 or better records - Yankee affiliates keep rolling along. Another winning week (19-9). Move than 100 games over .500 across the full organization. Only their Dominican Summer League team is sub .500
  15. IIRC he has a no trade clause/rights... He refused a deal to the dodgers this past offseason unless they picked up his option year..
  16. I don't believe that is the reason. Teams acquiring players during their final contract year haven't been getting draft pick compensation since the prior CA agreement (4+ years ago). The current CBA made 2 changes to the qualifying offers: 1) players can only be extend a QA 1 time during their career & 2) If the QA is rejected, the team signing the player does not lose its 1st round pick & the team losing the player does not get a pick between rounds 1 & 2 of the next draft.
  17. I think your crossing items here. Yes as a small market team, the Brewers will get a supplemental pick between rounds 2 & 3 this coming season. By getting a group B pick, they will also get an additional 500K in their international signing pool. The Brewers would not get a pick for Darvish departing as a Free Agent. a) for a player to be eligible for a qualifying offer, the player needs to be in that organization the entire system. Hence by not dealing Darvish, the Rangers would have the opportunity to extend a qualifying offer. Anyone else... no dice.
  18. Update time with games thru 7/15/17.. Franchise................ Edit 2: seems better than the prior postings...
  19. It would be natural for those fans to come over here for a look as the Brewers are ahead of the Cubs in the standings. Get the temp & feel type of thing. Strange would by those same fans checking a Reds or Tigers board.
  20. If Rob Kaminsky could ever stay healthy he might develop into a solid starter some day. This year he made 1 start at the beginning & went on the DL. Rob's up for Rule 5 this year. Considering other players/ talents on the Cleveland 40 man, Rob might be left off & exposed to that draft.. I'm guessing the Orioles will draft Rob if given the chance..
  21. Whenever a deal is made it takes at least 2 sides.. Try to remember that the current leadership in Toronto is Mark Shapiro & Ross Atkins, formerly in Cleveland until 2016.. You can look at their trade history in Cleveland to get a sense how they look at things. Two words I would use to describe them: slow, methodical
  22. For his performances as a player, how about the now GM Billy Beane ???
  23. Always a chance the Brewers requested that Corey not be pitched....

  25. Doubt Seattle bites on the deal. Rumblings of Carlos Santana going to Seattle this coming off season as a FA to play with a couple of his friends from the DR World Baseball Classic team (Robinson Cano & Nelson Cruz).
