  1. I think most people welcomed a Braun move. I would have been angry if he wasn't moved. Ripken and A-Rod's situations were vastly different than Hardy's. Ripken was older and didn't have the range for short anymore. A-Rod was the best hitter in the game and he would be paid a ton no matter where he played. He was still elite at third. Since Hardy isn't regularly putting up 1.000 OPS seasons, he won't be more than a solid 3B. Solid 3B<
  2. To me the issue is whether Hardy would even be willing to move. He complained about moving in the batting order, and it's not in his best interest financially to agree to move positions. If I were Hardy I probably ask for a trade if they ask me to move.
  3. The one thing that totally boggles my mind about this offense is Corey Hart. Seriously, what the hell happened there? The guy had an .892 OPS last year! He's never had close to this bad of a season in his professional career. How can a guy go from well above average to utter garbage from age 25 to 26? I think deciding on the future of Hart this year is more important than any other offensive personnel move.
  4. I just don't see why they'd trade Hardy now. Why not wait a year and let Escobar have at least a full season at AAA? I'm not convinced he'll hit at all in MLB next year.
  5. Thing is you can't say 18-24 years because you don't know which ones will even stick in the big leagues. Some may never even make it, and they got Haren at a good rate for multiple years, even before they extended him.
  6. I would feel awful about seeing Tony Gwynn in right field. I might throw my television remote. Sorry, I just don't think he has a place on an MLB roster. Now if you were talking Brad Nelson in right, I'd listen.
  7. I'd pretty much trade anyone for Wright. They'd be nuts to trade him unless it's a redunkulous offer.
  8. So Al, you wouldn't have made the Haren trade that Arizona did? I'm actually asking, not trying to condescend.
  9. I agree the Toby thing was definitely strange. They need to do something more with that throughout the season now.
  10. In my opinion "shortening up" with two strikes is not a good approach. That isn't their problem. Their problem is the inability to recognize a ball out of the strike zone and/or not swing at them very often.
  11. I would also prefer to see Gallardo go on Sunday over Suppan, even if it's for only three or four innings. Two of McClung, Villanueva and Parra should be availble to go multiple innings, or I suppose you could use Suppan in relief. I'm not too worried about the injury risk to Gallardo, as he still hasn't thrown many pitches and three days' rest one time is a bit overblown.
  12. By "do it now," are you suggesting the Brewers offer him that like, today? Because why would he ever accept any deal now when he's literally weeks away from free agency?
  13. My favorite part was Creed cutting the pile of rice with a credit card.
  14. I'd like to see the Brewers have more than six good plate appearances in the entire game.
  15. Unfortunately, I work until 5. I am taking a late lunch to catch the start, but after that I won't get to follow much. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif
  16. 1. Brewers 2. Rays 3. White Sox 4. Phillies Really, any of the last four I don't want to see win at all.
  17. I have a beard going as well, but I've had it the last month or so. I'm not really sure whether work approves, but nobody has said anything so I don't really care. Definitely keeping it at least until the Brewers are eliminated or win it all.
  18. I agree that I'm more excited than nervous for today's game. In fact, it's the first time in like ten days that I'm not a nervous wreck before a game. It's quite nice actually.
  19. Would have also liked to see Weeks up in the lineup. Oh well, what can you do. I do love the Gallardo choice, although I thought it was an obvious decision. I also wouldn't mind if it was rained out. It gives CC an extra day, and I'm sure he could use it. GO CREW!
  20. Fire Joe Morgan and Brewerfan regularly. I also visit Another Baseball Blog and Brew Crew Ball.
  21. The way things have gone lately, I am not even that nervous about Sheets tonight. I just have that feeling things will work out--sort of the way you knew Yo would pitch well and that McClung would finish off that game yesterday.

  23. Any word on the weather in NY? Will they get this one in?
  24. Funny. I was saying the same thing yesterday. Yost's two redeeming qualities.
