  1. I wasn't watching that closely in the second, but he was definitely at 94 a couple times in the first.
  2. I don't know Russ. Hart is exhibiting some of the worst plate discipline I've ever seen. He looks like he's never played baseball. His numbers have sucked against righties this season, and he's been bad since the All-Star Break. I think they need to get Nelson in there a little.
  3. I'd never play Gwynn in right, but I'm sure ready to give Brad Nelson a start tomorrow.
  4. Same, except Lamb more at third than Counsell.
  5. Yes on letting Kendall hit, no on letting Shouse face Blanco. To me that's at worst a wash with Villanueva vs. Ward, and I'd probably rather have Shouse vs. Blanco. Blanco sucks.
  6. This has been bugging me more than anything lately. Not because Durham over Weeks is hurting the team a ton, but because it's widely accepted that Durham over Weeks is the obvious choice. It's not at all, and I think it's the wrong one for reasons already documented in this thread.
  7. Kendall continues to hit in the ninth down by one or two runs.
  8. Yes once you bring a pitcher in he needs to face a hitter.
  9. Either way, the Brewers were backed into a corner for that AB. They were going to be facing a less-than-desired match-up no matter what they did. The lead-off double hurt them a lot more than bringing in Shouse.
  10. Honestly, I didn't want to see Ward up there in that situation. He has a great eye and has done well against righties in his career. Villanueva wasn't at his sharpest, and had thrown quite a few pitches already. I kind of saw it as a toss-up, and I don't blame him for going to Shouse.
  11. I didn't actually have a problem with bringing in Shouse there. Villanueva vs. Ward isn't an attractive option either, and it was either one or the other. Ward is the superior hitter by far. Now letting Kendall hit in the ninth on the other hand...
  12. Apparently I'm the only one who thought that pitch was high? Crossed the plate at his letters...
  13. Looks like Braun is about to deliver a haymaker to the ump's stomach.
  14. Sveost. Love it. Pronounced "Swohst."
  15. Neither Hall nor Counsell should really play at third much, except for late in games as defensive replacements. Additional inspiration. http://www.baseball-refer...es/MIL/MIL199809230.shtml
  16. Everyone wants to bench Weeks, even though he's literally the only starter hitting in September.
  17. Bah. Filtered out at work.
  18. This is actually something I've been keeping a close eye on, and I agree it's being overlooked by many. There is a decent cushion between the Brewers and Astros, so if the Brewers can beat out one of the Mets or Phillies they're probably in.
  19. Would have really liked to see Simmons over Sveum.
  20. Or the Astros.
