  1. Snowflex "Words to be Insulting" http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3108/2562301572_890c3bfe91_m.jpg This is sweet, and mine is awesome.
  2. Realllly hoping we see Hall at second today. Any sort of win today would be categorized as a "steal."
  3. Normally I'd agree with you, but the Brewers don't actually have advance scouts at the major league level, unlike many teams. It's done on video.
  4. If he were hell-bent on getting the highest amount possible, well then sure, he's as good as good. But some players think like Braun, in the sense that there isn't much I can't buy with X amount of money. Either way, the guy will be set down to like his grandkids' grandkids. Sheets already took a discount once, one that was much bigger than 10%, so I don't think it's a reach to think he might do it again. I happen to think getting him for less than $16 mil per year is doable.
  5. The thought of Branyan bunting in the five spot makes me laugh, but in a sad way.
  6. Anything but that, please. Weeks get hurt so we replace him with the one player who's been more inept ... no thanks. Give me Counsell or Dillon please. The Hurricane did play 2B, but has been playing LF this year. My gut says they won't move him back to 2B, but I don't know. I think they just called up a guy who offers speed and OBP. I think you might be letting some of Hall's errors this year at third base stand for more than they should. Dillon is not a middle infielder at all. He has zero range, and is much worse than Hall at second in all likelihood. Like Russ said earlier, the way to go is Dillon/Branyan at third and Counsell/Hall at second.
  7. I'd like to see Hall get the majority of the playing time at second. No more Dillon at second, and no more Counsell leading off. Kthxbai.
  8. Weeks Career is OPS is .752. The average NL position player last year OPS'd .757. Weeks was eighth in MLB in OBP and 16th in slugging among second basemen last year.
  9. I don't really like TH, but in his defense, Yost really seems like the type of guy who would treat you like dirt or ignore you completely if you continuously grilled him with tough, challenging questions. He gets so defensive and condescending in those interviews sometimes. It probably makes it hard to ask a lot of tough questions.
  10. Here's one for people who claim fans only complain after a loss. Having Corey Hart bunt in the eighth inning last night was incredibly stupid. First of all, bunting with guys on first and second is a big pet peeve of mine anyway, for a couple reasons. First of all, you already have one guy in scoring position. Why give up an out in that situation? Secondly, it's much easier to force out the lead runner in that situation than with just a runner on first (which is what happened, but I've always felt that way. not just a hindsight thing). When you consider the Brewers' case, it only gets worse. If a terrible hitter was at the plate, I might understand more. Hart is the last good hitter in the lineup at that point. Having Corey Hart bunt to set up chances for Bill Hall and J.J. Hardy (against a righty, no less) defies anything close to logic. The only other possible defense you could use is to stay out of the double play. Well, Hart's the fastest guy on the team. Playing to keep him out of a double play is useless. That dumb call cost them a chance at a big inning and important insurance run(s). If it weren't for Sal Torres, it very well could have cost them the game.
  11. Yes. I truly hope the Dillon at 2B thing is done.
  12. Like they did with Jake Peavy, Roy Oswalt, Mark Buehrle, Roy Halladay, John Lackey, Brandon Webb and even Ben Sheets and Johan Santana with their first extensions?
  13. So what's it mean when everyone at brewerfan likes the first round pick? This seems like new territory. Is this guy destined for failure? I wanted him too by the by. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  14. Sweet, Weeks to Oakland. I'm cool with that.
  15. What's with BA saying the consensus top choice among college closers is Cashner? Until I read that, I thought Fields was the consensus choice.
  16. Why not just let Kapler stay in the role he's in which he's having success? Cameron is not going to be this bad all season, and he's better defensively. Kapler is not really close to Cameron as an overall player.
  17. I'll say Utley because of his position, mainly.
  18. Hey, they have Sutton. They're probably used to hometown announcers drooling over the opposing team, so you can't blame them.
  19. Branyan only needs a walk for another 3T0 game!
  20. What an AB there by Prince. The offense is rolling right now.
  21. Singles galore! Good thing too. Hate them there rally-killin homers!
  22. To be fair, Hardy was the one who complained about hitting in front of the pitcher.
  23. Ok, I still care. This is so annoying.
