  1. Exactly, we care about the outcome. Sac bunts give up an out, and there's not even a guarantee of moving up the runners. He could pop up the bunt, the runner could be forced out at third, etc. Much better odds just swinging away.
  2. You have a better chance of a big inning with runners on first and second with no outs than with second and third with one out.
  3. All that sac bunt did was make it so the Brewers won't take the lead. And leave first base open for Prince.
  4. It would be swell if they strung something together.
  5. Probably because people generally are less frustrated by groundouts than strikeouts.
  6. That's a pretty weird and insignificant split, but Hardy OBPd .322 out of the second spot last season.
  7. Exactly. Hardy does not belong anywhere near the second spot. Not like he's hitting much better than Gross right now anyway.
  8. I wasn't referring to his position. It seems that Butler is the higher-regarded recruit. He had offers from Kentucky and Miss St, among others.
  9. Sure, I suppose there are a few. Jerry Sloan has been at Utah forever. I'm not concerned with a coach wearing on the Bucks players. If he has enough success to stick around long enough to wear on them it's an upgrade.
  10. From what I've read, it sounds like Butler may be the more attractive recruit than Taylor anyway.
  11. Yeah, but Yost will go right back to Hall batting fifth. It's just a day off. I am feeling a win today, though.
  12. What NBA coach doesn't eventually wear on his players, though? I think I'd prefer Carlisle to Skiles, but either is a big upgrade over anything they've had recently.
  13. Imagining Hall vs. Wainwright right now makes me cringe. I think today would have been a decent day to start Counsell at third and bat him seventh.
  14. The top priority should be either retaining Sheets or replacing him with another ace. That is more important than extending any individual offensive player IMO.
  15. Unfortunately, I have that same feeling tonight. Villanueva has just been okay, and Wainwright isn't exactly a pitcher you want to see to break out of a slump (or whatever you want to call hitting woes after a handful of games.)
  16. I kind of know what you mean, because I didn't have much confidence about a comeback last night. It was probably irrational, but I just didn't see it the way the game had gone.
  17. I don't see why the Brewers are "lucky." They beat the crap out of the Giants, won two non-lucky games against the Cubs and only one of two wins against the Mets was lucky. Sure some players haven't been hitting well, but it doesn't mean the team is lucky they won.
  18. Theriot's so gritty, he'll carry carry injured teammates off the field!
  19. I get giving Braun the day off, but I don't see why you'd hit Dillon third. Not that it's going to make a big difference for one day, but it's just a bit confusing.
  20. That's... interesting. Dillon third.
  21. I'm a fan of The Terminal in Oak Creek. It's on Howell Avenue near the airport.
