  1. Look at that pathetic 2.84 ERA for Williams. That's almost the worst ERA in the pen.
  2. With Hader already in the game, I'm guessing he comes back out for the 9th even though we're still up 4? I believe he'd get a save since he came into the game with the tying run on deck. If you decide to go with Taylor Williams (or God forbid Oliver Drake), we don't really have one of our best relievers fresh to come in behind him should he get into trouble, so unless the Brewers really add on here, my guess is Hader comes back out.
  3. Braun's BABIP still sitting at .278, way below his career .330 mark. Keep the hits coming.
  4. So glad we found a way to hang onto Aguilar this year. Solid baserunning from Santana tonight, taking 2nd earlier in the game on the SF really paid off and going from 1st to 3rd there was good.
  5. It's almost like Ryan Braun is a really great hitter...
  6. Yeah and Villar clearly had plenty of time to make that shuffle to 2nd, it wasn't really that close.
  7. Assuming Barnes comes back out for the 8th, then have Hader ready to face Moustakas?
  8. Dubon hitting streak up to 14 games, he's 2-3 so far tonight. Got his first walk yesterday and is not striking out hardly at all (although he had 3 yesterday, he only had 7 total before that this year). Guessing that Sogard will be gone by June and they'll bring up Dubon. Would much rather see him in there backing up Villar/Arcia and getting a start every 3rd day or so.
  9. Looking at the innings totals for our relievers so far and it doesn't look like anybody is on track to go way over their innings totals from last year. Jeffress/Albers maybe a bit but Hader should be able to go about as many innings as they could possibly need out of the bullpen and we've got a lot of converted starters who could have an above average workload out of the bullpen, not to mention fresh arms on the way back. Our bullpen probably won't be this great all year just because these numbers are insane that they're putting up, so we might as well get the wins we can get out of them now.
  10. Chacin gave up a fair amount of hard hit outs, he was not cruising by any means. The bullpen is overwhelmingly the strength of this team. We're about to go play a tough series against the Cubs, we don't want to let this one get away. We've also got Woodruff out there to eat innings tomorrow or Friday if need be, and we have enough arms out there that pretty much everybody who pitched yesterday will get the night off tonight (except for Jennings). I really don't see the big deal in pulling Chacin there. Play to your strengths.
  11. Good thing they got Chacin out, his pitch count was really getting up there.
  12. Hammel seems a little peeved that Cain and Yelich aren't swinging at his pitches the way a Brewers lineup typically would.
  13. Now that I see the replay, maybe Soler was just trying to keep the game going ha.
  14. Holy crap, these bad teams are just finding every way they can to make sure the Brewers win these games.
  15. One out save? Jennings probably gets the 2 lefties. If he gets those two why not let him face one more? There's a righty sandwiched between the two lefties.
  16. Cool, JJ getting a save opportunity with the Brewers again. I love it.
  17. Of his downfalls, I think he's been pretty good with the bullpen the mast few weeks. He did give a game away by leaving in Hoover to blow that Cards game As I recall, he didn't have a lot of other options at that point in the game.
  18. I don't expect to see Hader tonight. Maybe if they get in big trouble and the game is in the balance but otherwise he pitched an inning on Saturday and 2 on Sunday and with a 3 run lead I think they'd like to get him more than one day off. I agree that Counsell would obviously would prefer not to have to use him, but it's a save situation right now with two lefties coming up in the 9th inning. Hader is clearly the best option to pitch the 9th. I'm fine with whatever he chooses (assuming it'll be Barnes but maybe Jeffress if not Hader?), I can really see it going either way. It's entirely possible Hader is off limits tonight no matter what. Hopefully the Crew can add another couple here and make it an easier decision (although anybody got eyes on the bullpen?)
