  1. If we don't add Turner or some sort of power at third base this will be probably the lowest slugging infield in baseball. I don't understand how anyone can think this team has nearly enough slugging potential as the roster now stands.
  2. That simply isn't true. This team's starting RF hit 20 HRs in his last full season in 2019, and the team's starting catcher hit 22 that year. You may not be happy with what Garcia and Narvaez looked like last year, but to not call them legit power threats is simply incorrect. The career high for Garcia is 10 HRs and Narvaez certainly can't be counted on to provide anything. Its fine if you don't think we need power to win but this team is severely lacking in pop.
  3. So now that we have added Kolten Wong to the lineup as probably our biggest acquisition for the lineup I ask the question that needs to be answered and that’s where’s the beef. The only two power bats projected to play every day are Yelich and Hiura. Besides that the lineup is pretty much a bunch of punchless bats unless you think we can count on Narvaez and Garcia for power and I for one don’t think we can count on them at all. We have little to no power expected from second base, shortstop, third base, and center field with big concerns from catcher and right field. The lineup was terrible last season and doesn’t look to be even league average again next season. Wong is a gold glove second baseman and gets on base but he is one more bat who doesn’t slug much at all. I’m not expecting us to be like Harvey’s wallbangers but we are woefully short on power. Melvin was power over everything else but Stearns has gone too far in the other direction. This lineup is still pretty bad and likely won’t score enough for us to be true contenders so hopefully Stearns can add another power bat to complement Yelich and Hiura.
  4. Is your projection system basically limited to players' time with the Brewers? Who in partcular are you referring to. If its Garcia his career is full of underwhelming years with 2 years that were good. Narvaez was just so beyond awful that I can't expect much from him either.
  5. I really don't know to be honest. He was an MVP level player the previous two seasons but Yelich has not been consistently great throughout his career. OK but you do think he'll hit better than last year right? Same with Hiura. And the Brewers get Cain back. So unless you think they needed to replace all those guys then the offense should be better just by returning to the mean - even if those guys don't all hit to their ceiling. I don't expect much offense from Cain. Yelich better be close to MVP level or we will be bad and I expect Hiura to hit if he is even with us. At this point catcher is a black hole offensively as is shortstop and third base. I also expect Garcia to be just as bad as he was last season. If Hiura does end up playing first base we should be solid offensively at first, and left field and average to below average everywhere else. Sorry but I just don't see this team having nearly enough offense and think that Haines may be the worst hitting coach in baseball.
  6. It absolutely does but the lineup needs to score a lot more than it did last season and Wong does nothing to improve the offense. So you think Yelich will repeat his 2020 numbers next season? I really don't know to be honest. He was an MVP level player the previous two seasons but Yelich has not been consistently great throughout his career.
  7. It absolutely does but the lineup needs to score a lot more than it did last season and Wong does nothing to improve the offense.
  8. When it comes to WAR I don't take it seriously when a players entire value is on defense. I don't see Wong as a 3 win player when he swings a noodle for a bat.
  9. Stearns is the anti Melvin in every way. He values pitching as he should but just has no clue how to put together an offense that can score enough to win.
  10. Great defense but doesn't move the needle for us offensively at all. Stearns just loves to sign middle infielders that can't hit. So how exactly do we improve this offense or do we just count on the pitching every night.
  11. Great defensive second baseman but doesn't help a lineup that already can't hit.
  12. Not one of us has even heard of this woman until she was given this title yet some are applauding the hire just on the fact that the job was give to a woman. Fact is she is 27 which means she has very limited experience and that should raise eyebrows regardless of her gender.
  13. Must be nice being Stearns basically getting paid nowadays to do nothing. Attanasio should be ashamed for this organizations lack of moves and if he doesn’t have the financial wherewithal to compete he should just cash out and sell the team to someone who will try to improve the roster.
  14. Are we really going to go into next season with pretty much the same team that we ended last year with. Last offseason we all waited and nothing materialized and it looks like this offseason is much the same.
  15. Hey guys we have Yelich signed long term. That should be enough for fans to be happy about even if we won’t contend anytime soon.
  16. We just have to accept that we will be lucky to play .500 baseball next season. I would rather go for it or sell off but we just have to enjoy the games even if this team is in no mans land; not good enough to contend yet not acquiring young assets for a future run.
  17. This pitching staff better strike out a lot of hitters if they are going with a right side of the infield of Hiura and Vogelbach who belongs in a beer league softball uniform.
  18. These last two offseasons put more of an onus on this team drafting and developing their own position player talent. We have done infinitely better under Stearns in terms of pitching development but other than Hiura we have whiffed big time in regards to position player development.
  19. More like getting ready for another year of Sogard. Its time to face the facts that this team is not going to spend any real amount of money. Attanasio seems to think the gesture of signing Yelich long term is enough for the fans. They seem willing to give one long term deal for a face of the franchise. First it was Braun and now Yelich. Unfortunately this team is not willing to do what it takes to compete with an organization like St Louis.
  20. It’s dumpster diving season just like last offseason though this winter they really have legitimate reasons why they have to go through the trash for players to put in the lineup.
  21. Can’t say I was all that excited by the thoughts of Rosario playing first base but geez this offense looks terrible. This team needs a salary cap in the next labor deal.
  22. Not looking forward to watching Vogelbach play first base. We are lucky the division is a joke because this offense is going to suck again. Hopefully Haines can work some of his magic on guys like Urias and Narvaez.
  23. I agree completely.
  24. https://www.fangraphs.com/players/marcus-semien/12533/stats?position=SS Check out the numbers for yourself. This is not a premium player besides his one incredibly fluky season. On a one year deal no issue but if its a long term deal for 10 million or more per season it would be a really bad use of resources.
  25. Hmmm, his 2015-2019 WAR say otherwise. Other than 2019 his WAR has been completely predicated on his defense. That is his only year where he was above average offensively so no way am I paying full sticker price for a defense only player.
