  1. I don't think this is a matter of money just that Counsell may be burned out. Between his playing career and managing he could just feel like its time to enjoy other facets of his life besides baseball.
  2. Nothing wild about asking the contract status of our GM but your comment is oh so funny.
  3. Trading Hader wasn't the problem the issue was with what we got back and luckily Arnold cleaned up Stearns mess by turning Ruiz into Contreras. We definitely shouldn't sell Burnes for a discount but we should be willing to listen and see if any team blows us away with a great package for a guy that is gone for sure after next season.
  4. What exactly is his contract status. It has been speculated maybe even confirmed that his contract ran for the same timeframe as Stearns meaning this would be the last year remaining. If this is true why haven't we extended his contract. Front office stability is very important and we really need to lock up Arnold after seeing Stearns walk out on us. The longer this goes without an extension the more likely that he could leave and even follow his former boss next offseason to New York. We obviously can't compete financially with the big spenders so our only chance of maintaining success is with a front office that is at the top of the league and Arnold after cleaning up the Stearns mess of a Hader deal appears to be that guy so lock Matt Arnold up with a long term contract.
  5. I think closing the door on a Burnes trade is stupid. No we shouldn't just give him away but if the Dodgers or any other team makes a great offer for a pitcher that is 100% gone after the 24 season we should accept the offer and help set this franchise up for the future. This team should never let a great player walk for just the draft pick compensation alone so trading Burnes at this deadline should be very much a real consideration as his value drops the closer he is to free agency.
  6. If the Dodgers are willing to pay the high price that Burnes shuld command the Brewers would be foolish not to do it. He is 100% gone after 24 so move him now. As for Adames we should move him if we can get a big return but with how his season has gone I would be shocked if the Dodgers or anyone else offered a bounty.
  7. Any chance that the Brewers took Wilken instead of Miller because he agreed pre draft to a lower bonus so they can get a more unsignable guy with one of their next few picks.
  8. I'm sold as that is exactly the type I love seeing this team draft.
  9. Aidan Miller if he lasts would work but don't see the Brewers picking two straight third basemen so give me the best starting pitching prospect.
  10. Avoiding the up the middle athlete that can't hit is a win. Hopefully Wilken can hit enough to make the power useful and sticking at third base would also be a victory.
  11. Preferred Miller or a pitcher but avoiding Bradfield is a win. Still not thrilled that he may not be able to stick at third and seems like all power with a weak overall hitting tool.
  12. Isn't Mookie Betts 5-9. Just focus on guys that can hit and avoid the middle of the field athletes that can't hit.
  13. Bradfield would look great in a cubs uniform hopefully they pick him.
  14. I'm watching this draft hoping to hear his name before we pick.
  15. This is pretty much the worst case scenario and exactly the type of player we need to avoid taking early.
