  1. If the Brewers were ever to call up Hiura it would blow their chances at winning the gold glove at DH.
  2. Santana C. He's not terrible but far from a real difference maker. Canha D Just another below average bat for a lineup already full of them Chafin B He's probably better than Strz but who knows how he will perform down the stretch and I see no reason why we would keep him past this season Urias D He was a solid performer for us last season and on a team with a lack of bats he should have been given more of a chance instead of banking on Turang and Monestario McKendry incomplete probably a nothing for nothing kind of deal but maybe there is some upside there Overall grade C- good that they didn't trade any top prospects but I would have preferred to see them get a haul for Burnes.
  3. Just for the record I think Cohen should be targeting John Hart or Jeff Luhnow instead of Stearns but its been clear for quite awhile that Stearns is his guy.
  4. Have you watched not only how much Cohen has spent on his payroll but the money he gave away in these deadline deals to buy prospects? Its not unrealistic to think he will be paying big money to his front office personnel. If you havent been paying attention to other sports the contracts given to coaches and executives is going through the roof. Look at the money college football coaches are receiving or check out how much Denver paid Sean Payton. It is easy to see how Cohen who is twice as wealthy as any other baseball owner and has willingly given other teams money in both the Verlander and Scherzer deals along with even paying the rest of the Canha contract for this season would give Stearns and the rest of his executives staggering amounts of money.
  5. This team should have no interest in paying anywhere near market prices for Adames.
  6. We will see where his priorities lie but I would understand him or anyone else choosing a far bigger salary over the higher position. The truth is the Arnold contract runs out after the season so we will all find out soon enough.
  7. Two playoff runs vs one is the difference you choose to ignore.
  8. We really are not a very exciting team thats for sure.
  9. I think he was worth more now when a contender would have him for two playoff runs.
  10. The worst part if this is the beginning of a collapse is that it happened a few weeks too late so we didn't cash in on Burnes.
  11. Hey Arnold how is that run prevention all in strategy working out. Sorry but there is no excuse for having an offense this terrible and giving away Urias who has the potential to help this lineup.
  12. This is totally last season playing out again.
  13. The defense that inning was brutal but the fact is you can't expect to keep winning these games with little to no offense.
  14. Where would this team be without Payamps.
  15. Just too much pressure on this bullpen every night to shut the opponent out.
  16. Just pay Turang near the minimum to play short instead of paying Adames the 8 million or so that he would get.
  17. Its time to give Hiura a shot to be the DH.
  18. He can be the top guy here and make whatever the average GM makes which I would guess is 2 or 3 million a year or he can go to the Mets and make 10 with an owner that will pay big money to his entire front office under Stearns. Eppler I'm sure is being paid a lot just because he's friends with Stearns even though everyone knows he's completely incompetent.
  19. Its fair to ask why Arnold has not been extended as of yet. Until we hear that he has we should consider that both he and Tod Johnson could follow Stearns to NY.
  20. They are paying the Astros 54 million.
  21. The only good that can come from this is the other owners finally working together to get a salary cap after this CBA ends. If not things will only get worse as Cohen just throws money around to buy prospects.
  22. Cohen paid 54 million to Houston to buy the two prospects. What a joke.
  23. Who says Stearns won't take them with him to New York. Cohen can pay Arnold 10 million without a second thought and throw say 5 million a year at Johnson. Don't discount the possibility of something like this happening.
  24. Look how much money that guy is throwing around. He has probably thrown at a minimum 50 million into these deals so thinking he can pay Stearns 20 million a year plus whoever Stearns wants from our front office is hardly a stretch.
