If Torres throws harder than Ben, that alone may well have been the factor. Odds are, neither are prospects at all. You gotta remember, about 75% of guys in low A ball are nothing but roster filler, and up to 50% at the other levels.

If Gwynn needs to play more, Jones would be a nice Gross like guy to PH and such. He hits RHP's nicely, but has always sucked versus lefties, but teams seem to ignore that little nugget of fact. He's not a real good defensive CF, but passable.

I was at a client's house last week and his granddaughter stopped by on her way to "work". She was young and attractive, and as I chatted with her on the way to my car, I found out she works at the little gentleman's club near Stanley...she mentioned on average she makes $1000-1200 a week, and then confessed that "more talented" girls make that in 1 or 2 nights. Jeepers.

I use a blade in the shower, I only use the electric on my upper lip area, and a quick glance at what I missed. I've never found any that did not hurt.

I have been adding some honey to my marinade, solely because we have a bottle of it that we never use (get rid of your cough, heh). The key is to break down the meat so that it tenderizes. My pork was so tender, I could easily cut it with a fork. Sure, it adds flavors as well, but that's icing on the cake.

I used mine on pork chops today, maybe went a tad light on BBQ, and it was excellent. The steak for tomorrow night is marinating as I type.

Lincecum is shorter than most RHP's, and will demand a great deal in return, as would any young SP. The way to get guys like him is to develop them, not overpay.

What about dealing Hart for a young 1/2 starter?

If you trade a position player for a pitcher, you lose, because the pitcher is much more likely to get injured. No way I trade Hart at all. -
Never heard that Brian, but it's certainly offensive to many. I would never use the term, but have heard it a lot. I'd be hesitant to label him a racist if he made a single joke, however. As I have pointed out many times, Chris Rock uses the "n" word repeatedly and no one cares...it still seems like a huge double standard to me. Calling someone a redneck used to be a very derogatory term as well, but is now considered to be a country or rural person. Nutrisystem has looked past it as well, so obviously, it has not hurt him. One time use, or used badly and then dropped, it's tough to just label and run.

Reed's point, if you can see it among the tangents, is accurate...Larry the Cable Guy was called racist on here by many, and I've never seen or heard him say anything remotely racist. Many are extremely politically correct, so much so it's laughable. However, Brian probably errs on the side of caution. He can do what he wants. He can pull the site tomorrow, he can spend the money he makes here on illegal drugs (I doubt he does, but he could). I have seen things written by mods that were very condescending, once even in a warning about being condescending. That said, nobody has to be here. If you don't like it, the web is a large rec room. Enjoy it.

Jeff Weaver is probably as good as Padilla. TEX would give him away and pay a good chunk of salary. His ERA is decent, but his K/IP and BB/K numbers indicate that is short-lived.

I would assume a top guy is out of the picture, at least for a rental. No way they are trading 6.5 years of Laporta for 2-3 months of a pitcher who may get hurt in his first outing. However, I would assume that Doug and Gord probably already had a list of possible SP additions come July 15th, and that list will be looked at daily.

I know the Twin Cities TV did a story which stated they get 30-100 "hang-ups" from cell phones at every Vikings home game. Considering how many people have it preprogrammed in, I can't believe they have the manpower to respond.

To my knowledge, unless a "name" is involved, the DA will never charge unless the parents of the minor ask them to. also, they are asked once, and that's it. I knew of a 15 year-old that after they broke up, her parents asked the boy be charged, and the DA said, "My office is not a place for revenge."

I'd go with LaPorta if anyone, but I assume the club will just give Prince or Ryan a field day off, given they will hopefully play 155+ games, and go with Dillon or Gwynn. -
McClung has pitched very nicely, sans a 2 inning outing versus the Reds in which the the Crew "punted", and let their long man take a beating, which is the job of a pitcher once in a while (ask Suppan). Marquis was asked to do this a couple years ago, and some were unable to comprehend the difference, but the Cubs were not.

12-15 year-olds get pregnant often, and many of those are by 18+ men. I have known several, and "known of" several more, and not a single prosecution has taken place. It just is not common.

Other than the white roof and seats that face the wrong way, the dome isn't bad at all. However, that's like saying other than her obvious assets, Jennifer Love Hewitt is only kind of attractive. -
What Peavey said about the Seiler case. They did a fine job of quickly figuring out what happened. People seem to forget that Seiler did nothing wrong until she lied...it's not illegal to go off for a few days, and it is the police's job to investigate missing person reports. It wasn't a fiasco at all, it was a depressed young lady taking advantage of the ay the system works. If she would have simply called and told the cops she had wanted some time alone, no harm, no foul.

I'm sure many CLE fans said Cliff Lee was "done" last year as well. Derrick is a tweak and some confidence away from being his old self, be that dominant one day and icky the next.

Look at the quality of SP's they've faced so far. They are fortunate not to be 10-18. And yeah, making a change based on 18% of the season seems foolhardy. Wood is a RHP, and they hit him hard today...they'll be fine versus all but very good RHP's...and LHP's. Funny how that works out.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif -
