  1. Joe, what are you looking for? The IF is set short and long-term. Hart and Hall are also set...so that leaves LF and C...if you think a major upgrade is coming at one of those two spots, I hope you are correct, but I have my doubts. You could look to improve the position player depth, but that's not as important as pitching depth, and to be honest, Counsell/Graffy/Mench/Gross is about as solid veteran depth as you can get.
  2. Pogo is right, if you're on the 40, you make a lot more money. I would assume the choices were put him on the 40 or allow him to be a FA.
  3. I must admit, I was not nervous either. It was really hot though.
  4. I liked the narrative part of Grapes of Wrath, but hated all those chapters in which he described the era. I pretty much just skipped 'em after the first couple, and that added to my enjoyment immensely.
  5. I love cheese flavored brats. Aloe has a lot of medicinal effects (think internal slipperyness), but I was unaware it added flavor.
  6. I don't think they have any desire to open a spot for either CV or Yo, and even if they did, Vargas and Bush need to be around in case someone get hurt.
  7. He's better than many reserve OF's, and has many intangible benefits (veteran, able to play all 3 OF spots well, gritty, makes contact). He won't be out of a job long.
  8. Let's not forget, almost everyone graduates from HS (or gets a GED). Don't worry about it, and enjoy the summer.
  9. "Something in the farm system" doesn't seem like having any idea what to ask for. However, a thousand apologies for inadvertantly breaking the rules of the forum.
  10. Why yes, I certainly want to trade a pitcher without even knowing what to ask for in return.
  11. Casey, we just have our cable coming into one place in our utility room, and it's split to 5 TV's. We can only get 101+ on the one with the box, but on the other 4, we can watch whatever we want. We just have regular cheap black plastic that the cable guy left us as a kind hearted gesture, same thing you can buy at Best Buy.
  12. I've seen several folks say it's effect is either minimal or none. I would agree, just because so many players choose not to use it.
  13. With Parra's arm trouble, I doubt he'll be near the rotation in MIL. I see him as a long-term LH relief guy, hopefully, more than a loogy.
  14. Didn't we have one of these in years past? If not, it seems like it would be a great addition, just a listing of round, player name, and bonus (if available). EDIT: I see now it is in the draft selection thread, using bold. Maybe a change in title would eliminate my confusion. Feel free to lock.
  15. Casey, we used to split our Direct and still do our cable, and we did not have the "same channel" restriction...just the only channels under X rule.
  16. Rollie supposedly owes income tax, not property tax, by the way.
  17. Lefty bats have an 811 OPS versus Pat, RH bats a 380 OPS. Note almost 2/3rd's of the AB's against him are RH as well, it seems pretty obvious the Twins know this and use him versus good RH hitters. link of Neshek's splits
  18. Mench hits lefties extremely well. Tough to overlook that on a team that struggles against them.
  19. Is that from a Devil Rays fan? They'd be getting the best of that by far. And why propose a 3 team deal, it's hard enough making a 2 team one.
  20. Neshek is basically only effective against RH hitters. He's a nice cheap pitcher, but he'll never be more than that.
  21. Graffy can play SS, Ty cannot. Ty is slightly better offensively, but is not a middle infielder...and he still gets out more than Tony. His only real role would be as a RH hitting 1B/3B...Braun hits RH, so that leaves him as Prince's reserve.
  22. I like Romero as a loogy, but he's pretty close to Shouse's equal. I see the Brewers adding a very nice LH relief guy at some point, not just another loogy.
  23. They will probably trade some minor prospects (one of the many low level OF's) for a LH reliever. They may also look to trade some blocked prospects for some veterans as well. I don't think you'll see anything of value traded for a 30/60 game rental, however.
  24. Dave Krynzel the next Steve Finley...who did those guys turn out? Sadly, this comparison is pretty accurate...but Finley is 42 now, and Dave is finally about as good as Steve is.
  25. How can that be enforced? What are they going to do, fire ya?
