  1. Where are you getting that .770 OPS average? I was just adding up BP's LF & RF MLB numbers from '05, which I have on my calendar near my computer. LF--.344/.443 RF--.344/.448 which I see how are closer to 790 than 770.
  2. I can see Doug adding a relief pitcher, even one that makes some decent money, but that's a big contract for a guy who would be your 7th inning guy at this second. Now, if talks with Coco go nowhere, it's possible, but not likely.
  3. I admit, I have a hard time not rooting for the gal from West Point, even though I voted for Katie.
  4. I just don't see much upside in picking up a 3B, how much better than Braun could he be? I like Ensberg, but I don't see a match.
  5. Harden's listed as 6-1, so he's not overly short.
  6. Nix is another lefty. There's little doubt they do not want that.
  7. Tons of corner guys with an OPS in the 730 range, mostly weaker starters and platoon guys. If 770 is what the league average is, 730 is only worth a win or so over the course of a full season, so there are obviously a bunch.
  8. Well, average is 770ish for a LF/RF. If you are able to play solid defense, you'll have a nice career with a 730 OPS.
  9. I've never seen anyone sitting on the dugout.
  10. Doug would not break up the team right now, especially with Vinny R as the next platoon option.
  11. As Doug said, Closser had no future in MIL, barring 2-3 injuries. Now, he's one spriained ankle/hammy pull away. Doug has always been very kind to minor league vets who had a better future elsewhere. I wish we could have got a hard throwing kid in A ball rather than a Gwynn Jr. type minus the speed and defense, but Doug is not going to change.
  12. He'll buck a huge trend if he has a long,. healthy career. Lists that have Oswalt alone for the most part are tough to get on.
  13. Player friendly move by Doug. Thomas used to be good, but it's tough to imagine him having an impact.
  14. Well, yes, it will be deleted, but many will see your thoughts first. Or you can just write a normal sentence and break it up. I find them very difficult to read myself, so the appeal is rather limited. However, I hope others enjoy it.
  15. Actually, I meant just write like normal.
  16. For the most part, I run my own at Ramblings, though I sneak in tidbits on my weight loss and promos for people who pay for links there.
  17. Wonder if they scrounge up Marshall Edwards?
  18. I'd trade Inman in the right package, as he's a short RH, which always have trouble adjusting upwards...there are exceptions like Oswalt, but there are also a ton of former top prospects who either flamed out or are now just middle relievers.
  19. I've had Braun in my top 3...even back when he was behind Krynzel, and I was called names for even suggesting he be ahead of Dave. Like Colby, I've had him at #1 for ages, at least since Rickie, Prince, and Corey were off. Yo's good, but he's a sore arm away from being a decent middle reliever. TINSTAAPP.
  20. I don't see the Indians falling out of the race.
  21. Doug would trade his mom if it gave the Crew a title. If Jenkins wanted to stay, he'd have signed a cheap deal with a no-trade. He did not. He got market value, and he accepted. As long as he's on the team, I admire his loyal service. If he's dealt or leaves, that's part of the business, and best of luck to him.
  22. Somehow, I doubt if the Sounds were "heartbroken", to be perfectly blunt. Jose C maybe, but I think they'd all rather go 3-4 and lose than 1-4 and win. I still remember when Kremblas had one of his many tantrums to the press and it was reported how he had had a long closed door meeting with his team...which included Prince, Rickie, and Corey that season. Somehow, I doubt it had much of an effect on them making the bigs.
  23. He's 23 and doing well in high A. Prince is 22 now. I have no idea about a thing, but unless he hits .300+ in AA, I'd agree he's filler until he proves otherwise. He is a catcher though, all they gotta do is not suck a lot and they'll get every opportunity.
