  1. Mound is correct, Sarfate, Cappy, and Aquino (when healthy) are 3 major league relief guys stuck in AAA for the Crew due to the embarassment of riches (and Jose going AWOL) we have on our big league staff. I guarantee you Doug gets a call on one of those AAA guys several times a week, and has no reason to move any of them.
  2. Stetter is very likely nothing but injury backup. His AAA career screams roster filler.
  3. You can get them on the internet until like 15-30 minutes prior to the game, and either print them at home or will call 'em.
  4. So, was anyone watching the court?
  5. Capellan and Sarfate (and Aquino, when he gets healthy), are all on the 40 man. That alone would seemingly put them well ahead in any contest for the next callup. Maybe if Luther had a 0.50 ERA and the others had a 4, but right now, they are all pitching nicely.
  6. A couple games makes a huge difference after a month, yet nearly none after 162. It's a valuable stat, but like many others, means little after 2 dozen contests.
  7. Lopper was scheduled before the postponement. I would assume Wells.
  8. Vargas was likely more lucky than good, but I'll take 5 scoreless every day.
  9. The more I think about it, I think Gabe Gross might be dealt at the deadline, if all stay healthy. A team might look at Gabe as a cheap, athletic corner OF with some ceiling, and give away a high paid vet for Gabe and a hard thrower from AAA.
  10. I don't see Graffy going anywhere, they want a pair of utility IF's, and have 2 very good ones. Teams not in the race won't want to pay him either.
  11. Not much, to be honest. I would guess if the Crew needs to make a move for a specific need, they will focus on lower levels and areas of strength...A ball and lower, and probably 1B, 2B, and SS. Also, they have a lot of decent pitching in AAA, hopefully, some of it will still be there to deal.
  12. If Braun was called up, I would guess Hart was DL'd due to his wrist.
  13. If Balfour has his control back, there's now 4 solid RH relievers in AAA that would be pretty solid big leaguers.
  14. Rene Rivera of the M's is only about 5-7. Size isn't a big deal with C's.
  15. Lidge is a nice reclamation project, but not with our solid pen and 3 decent guys in AAA.
  16. Mench isn't going anywhere...who would platoon with Geoff, Vinny Rottino? You'd need to get a RH hitting OF back, and that doesn't make any sense. I thought Clark would be kept, but with Brady gone, Kevin's spot on the team is solidified.
  17. Maybe they'll sign another Suppan type to be a long reliever. When Yo, Carlos V, or someone else is ready, a veteran SP will be dealt, as our staff isn't too many years away from being a $40-50M rotation. You can have great SP depth, but you can't have veterans as depth, as it's too expensive. Look at the Yankees "depth" this year. If they can't afford it, I promise you the Brewers can't.
  18. Jenkins will not be going anywhere as long as he continues to play well.
  19. Cantu is back after hitting .267/.317/.360 with no homers and 17 strikeouts in 75 at-bats for Durham.--Rotoworld Jorge was terrible at AAA, but he didn't go AWOL. Right now, the Crew has an embarrassment of riches at AAA, with no fewer than 6-7 true prospects or decent vets on their pitching staff...many teams have a couple, then some Gary Glover/Wes O types, guys who will put up ok numbers in AAA, but 4.50ish numbers in the bigs, and 5.50ish if asked to join the rotation for a month. Those guys have a place, but their upside is minimal. As I said the other day, the Sounds now have 3 power arms in their bullpen that all throw 92-94 and have plus breaking balls, with varying degrees of control of them. I guarantee you scouts will be telling their teams that all 3 are better than the bottom 3 on their major league staffs...you could easily make the argument that any 2 of them are better than Dessens and Spurling, though I understand why they are with the team.
  20. At best, he profiles out to be a Mark Sweeney type 1B/OF with some pop...very little value. Considering Graham Koonce has been available as a minor league FA, Nelson's worth is tiny.
  21. At this point, he has almost no value. If he'd ever regain his former pre-injury form, he'd have a limited amount.
  22. Mass, there are some black Canadians, as the NHL's growing number would seem to indicate. However, I gotta believe Canada is a lower % than the USA.
  23. The Brewers might be focusing on historically black colleges and cities than others. I don't think their Canadian push helps them out here, for the most part.
  24. Unless they are injured or in rehab mode, most of the guys at extended are simply not ready for A ball, nor are there any roster spots open.
  25. Rehab and guys going to rookie league teams that do not begin until mid June.
