  1. Milwaukee Brewers ‏ @Brewers The contract of LHP Mike Zagurski has been selected from Triple-A @skysox. RHP Adrian Houser has been optioned there. 2:32 PM - 28 Jun 2018 from Cincinnati, OH Interesting choice to be honest. Cincy has a decent amount of good hitting lefties, so I'd imagine this would be the reasoning.
  2. Not even close. No Cain and maybe no Shaw; that's a pretty big part of this teams offense. Who knows what happens before the trade deadline. Also, the Cubs are a team with their own issues. If this was the end of July, I would be a bit more worried.
  3. Old Brewer face, Chris Bosio got canned for what seems to be being himself. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2018/06/tigers-fire-pitching-coach-chris-bosio.html
  4. I really think you are overestimating the cost. There will be plenty of similar options available. I don't think many teams look at him and see a regular in the OF or at 3b on a contender. He'll probably be valued as a guy to get a couple starts a week and PH. With offensive numbers very similar to Yelich's, the Marlins will clearly be selling high on Dietrich. He can be a super Utility, controlled for another 2 years, at a relatively cheap price. Will he cost Hiura, Peralta, or Burnes, no but Erceg etc. will be in the conversation.
  5. Even if he can't play 2b all that well, that's not a huge deal. Eventually I would think Villar, Miller and Saladino would play ss and 2b most of the time...I don't think we'd need Dietrich there much. If his arm plays at 3b, I imagine he'd be fine in RF as Braun/Yelich prefer LF. The LH bat brings more balance as well, and we'll be able to really stack lefties against RH starters. The problem is, you make it sound like Villar, Miller, and Saladino are consistent options that we can feel good about. If we're trading any type of good prospect, I want it to be at a position of need.
  6. If he can play 2nd base, absolutely. He's played 2 games at 2nd this year and 10 games last year. His career OBP is .60 higher than Hernan Perez's.
  7. I think Counsell has been a terrific manager, but I agree. This may be the biggest botched game by CC as a manager.
  8. They at least tried him in the bullpen, and there were no signs of him being good. Wily, at the very least, needed a change of scenery.
  9. Looks like Wily has kept up his same off season workout regimen.
  10. Perez, Broxton, Pina, Arcia, Pitcher. You aren't going to win many games with that lineup.
  11. Yeah I'm not sure how he got a spot in a booth. There could not have been a try out because he would have been instantly shown the door.
  12. Is Eric Thames expendable?
  13. Sounds like a very short-sighted plan.... if we are in the Playoffs, this sounds like a good plan. Skip Game 1 and 2 and shoot for playing him in Game 3. There is no net if Shaw is out for the majority of the season. Playing with fire here. Or, it's a plan with very little downside. "If can't go [Thursday], time for a different plan." They can always back-date a DL stint. The only thing we know right now is that the Brewers' medical staff feel this is minor enough to take a wait-&-see approach with. If he can't go Thurs., then send him to the 10-day DL. Exactly. It may seem short-sighted, but it really isn't. If you put Shaw on the DL, he's missing 9 games. If he misses 3 games, you get him for 6 extra games this year. Last year as an example, every game will count so you cannot afford to have one of your best run producers to be on the DL for 3-4 extra games when he is healthy. And, as stated above, if he isn't ready the just DL him retroactively.
  14. Agreed. At this point, I'm not sure why pitching would be considered a priority. The season is old enough to understand that this offense is not going to be consistent.
  15. Here's an article from Brew Crew Ball https://www.brewcrewball.com/2017/11/20/16385636/2016-2022-milwaukee-brewers-rule-5-draft-classes
  16. Can't really blame you I guess. A guy that didn't even start on his college team and sort of a playoff wonder. For some reason, I am really interested in him as a prospect. His combine numbers are very similar, if not better, thank Russell Westbrook's combine numbers which tells me he's a superior athlete. Heck, even his college numbers are the same, if not better, than Westbrook's. I think at worst, he will be a great defender and a great rebounding guard. He has a great looking shot and his numbers were very solid in college. Seems to have a great basketball IQ to go along with an Philly mentality. I know those are pretty high remarks and I'm kind of "hot-taking" this, but I think he has all the traits to become a very good NBA player.
  17. It's too bad MLB has no idea how to market their players. This guy is beyond a generational player. He is literally the Michael Jordan of baseball. There are still plenty of people who will tell you that Bryce Harper is the best player in baseball despite Trouts WAR being 34 higher with only 600 more AB's.
  18. This seems like way too much for me. I'm not giving up Hiura unless a TOR SP is coming back in return. I'm also not trading our best SP prospect and best hitting prospect since Braun for Realmuto.
  19. Him or Khyri Thomas would be awesome.
  20. Sort of understand what your saying, but keep in mind our best SP and RP did exactly this (Guerra and Hader). And like Rick said the Cardinals do it all the time, and many other teams do as well. This will also keep pitchers pitching longer in the year because it limits their innings pitched. I do wish the would keep Woodruff at SP, but if you have a reliever like Drake and no clear SP opening, Woodruff needs to be up in the bigs.
