  1. Joel Sherman @Joelsherman1 #Twins getting Gabriel Maciel, Jhoan Duran and Ernie De La Trinidad from #Diamondbacks for Escobar Translate Tweet 4:05 PM - 27 Jul 2018
  2. I honestly think so (ok, maybe 3 are necessary). A guy like Dozier at 2B, an upgrade at catcher, and a solid-but-unspectacular starter might get us there. Realmuto/Dozier/Stroman or Gibson might do it. Obviously, you'll have to give to get, which is the heart of the debate. I don't think there's a Sabathia-type out there, but I'm not sure that's the level of addition they even need. I'm really sold on Realmuto and would be willing to part with Hiura+ to get him. I realize that most are probably not in that boat and I get it. I'm just a little surprised he isn't being pursued a little more strongly. He's the best at a position that almost everyone is weak at, he is strong both offensively and defensively, he is controlled and obtainable. He's a potential game changer for a contender. I share the exact same sentiment. Seems like most are unwilling to think about trading away their baby Hiura for anyone not named deGrom.
  3. Makes me think of the time where Yo beat the Giants with the bat off of Randy Johnson.
  4. Brad Ford is having a very bad last couple weeks. Yeah, he has to get it out first, even if it's wrong. I only follow him for some of the minor league videos he posts.
  5. Hopefully they call up Kopech and have him in the bullpen next year!
  6. No I would not give up Diplan's spot, it was merely showing that you can wait for a couple players to develop. (Although I personally would rather have Medeiros). Do we really need to have Orf, Dubon, Hiura, Arcia, Villar, Miller, Saladino, and Perez on the 40 man? Seems like a lot of players for a few positions especially with a lot of these players have positional versatility. Remove: Miley, Perez, Orf, Wilkerson, Ascher Add: Ortiz, Supak, Gatewood, Medeiros, Devin Williams, (Keston after Super 2 status)
  7. So please tell me, is Medeiros on our opening day roster next year, or who else are you willing to cut loose to give him a 40-man spot? We don't get to just develop these guys forever and wait for a miracle to happen, that's not how it works. **See Marcos Diplan I would've added him to the 40-man next year. Players currently on the 40 man that are expendable: Wade Miley, Suter (injury), Brad Miller/Villar/Orf, Wilkerson, Ascher. Also, not sure how trading one 40 man spot for another 40 man spot is going to alleviate the issue.
  8. I've seen multiple sources list that option as a team option, not a mutual option... Cot's and other sources have it as a mutual option, unfortunately That makes less excited about the deal, but Medeiros had little to no value for us at this point given his control issues still not improving and the upcoming 40-man crunch Please.... We knew coming in he'd be a project; the dude is 22 and he has no value. Just stop.
  9. A little premature to say that given he is 22 in AA w/ a 3.14 era and more strikeouts than innings pitched. The talent is obviously there. He was also an under slot first round pick which aloud the Brewers to sign both Gatewood and Monte Harrison. Given the failure rates in the MLB draft, I would say that was a pretty decent draft.
  10. Man, thought Medeiros was really figuring it out. I will be rooting for him to make it to the bigs. Gotta gi e something to get something, but I think this is a little much.
  11. The depth of the farm system is night and day to 2011, and I think Realmuto can be resigned by the Brewers. Not really. If our farm system wasn't good then there's not a chance we would've been able to secure Greinke and Marcum. A lot of people seem to have selective memory lately of our farm system. Our farm system turned to crap because we traded for Greinke and Marcum (and because we kept drafting busts in the 1st round afterwards.) It didn't suck before we got them. Look at the power 50 on this website and tell me it compares. There is nowhere near the depth that this farm system currently has.
  12. The depth of the farm system is night and day to 2011, and I think Realmuto can be resigned by the Brewers.
  13. That's why I would trade for Realmuto even though it would involve Keston. He's one of the best players in the game at the toughest position to find talent, and he's under control for a couple more years. So trade our 2B of the very near future to fill a glaring hole... Then, next year, we will need a 2B, what do we do then? Trade a valuable piece to fill a hole, then leave another hole to be filled, I'm not feelin' it. If Huira was a player that was this close, and was only depth at that position, or blocked by a stud, then maybe, but as it is now, we would still need a 2B. I would not, no way, no how, trade Huira for a catcher, no matter who they are. 2nd base is a dime a dozen in comparison to catcher. Realmuto isn't some 32 year old that has 2 productive years left. At this point I'll take a Dubon and Realmuto over Huira and Pina/Nottingham. I know it's not a sexy opinion, as I would only trade Hiura for a handful of players, but Realmuto to me is one of those handful of players.
  14. Hope this isn't the case. It seems like a quick give up on a promising player in Domingo Santana. Seems a bit steep for a marginal 35 y/o rental.

  16. If he comes to Milwaukee, which I don't think will happen, I hope it's not for the trade offer that MLB.com predicted the Brewers would get him for: Corbin Burnes and Brett Phillips for JA Happ. Still can't get over the ridiculous things that website spews out.
  17. Plate discipline has left a lot to be desired today...
  18. Jon Morosi @jonmorosi #Brewers, #Twins already discussing the Minnesota infielders, and Twins RHP Kyle Gibson could be included if a larger deal materializes. Gibson has thrown 7+ IP in six of his last 10 starts -- the sort of reliability the #Brewers need right now. @MLB @MLBNetwork 2:51 PM - 25 Jul 2018
  19. Didn't have a good feeling having "effectively wild" Peralta pitching after not pitching for 2 weeks. You could even see that rust with Junior early yesterday.
  20. His last 54 ABs: .315/.371/.481 (.852 OPS) 6BB 4K. I can't speak for his defense, but it seems that he is getting his legs under him recently and the bat is waking up.
  21. Figured after Turner decided not to move out of the box after a botched bunt, he was going to be riding the pine for this game.
  22. That is about as certain as you're gonna get that "standing pat" is not gonna happen. Meh. I read it as typical GM speak. "There are going to be a lot of players traded over next week." (Yeah, obviously). "We're going to be active on a number of them." (Yeah, kind of figured.) Then he adds the disclaimer that you never know until you actually complete the trade. Not that there is anything wrong with what he said. I just don't read much into it other than that they don't INTEND to stand pat. More specifically, this is David Stearns speak (from the winter meetings). Tom @Haudricourt Stearns: "We're deep into discussions on a couple of fronts. We've had some discussions progress but I can't handicap. I don't want to handicap." 11:06 AM - Dec 13, 2017
