  1. That Garcia at bat is a contender in that category. Weeksian.
  2. They've won four in a row. Who's going for free burgers with me on Sunday?
  3. That's a guarantee, isn't it? The playoffs won't be at home parks. The opening round will, but only for top 4 seeds, and we aren’t gonna be one. Missed that. Thought the whole playoff was in the bubble.
  4. With respect to those odds I suspect that the Brewers are ahead of the Reds because the Reds play the Twins. But are the Twins going to have much motivation next weekend if their playoff position is locked in. I would pick the Reds as the favorite to get the 2nd spot in the central. They don’t have to play 9 games this week like the Brewers and Cardinals do. It’s looking now like just finishing .500 might not be good enough. It might take 2 of 3 against the Reds and 3 of 5 against the Cardinals. The Twins are currently only 0.5 games ahead of the Yankees to host the first round of the playoffs. I hope even if they aren’t in a position to make a run at the AL Central title they would still be able to stay motivated to host the first round of the playoffs at home (versus at Yankee Stadium).

  6. For most of the season, you could have written "an offense that struggles against these type of pitchers."
  7. I hate the Cards the most and it's not even close. Spent a lot of time in St. Louis for work, and the fans are just awful. Add in the sanctimonious players and the ridiculous announcers, it's nausea-inducing. However, the stadium area is fantastic, and taking a twenty-minute train ride and being dropped off across the street from the stadium is a beautiful thing. So, credit where it is due.
  8. Coaches get in funks with players just like players do. They don't have all the answers as much as a coach wants to. Sometimes a player gets to a point where the coach feels helpless with the situation. It was just him being real in the moment. Maybe Narvaez doesn't want to listen to him. I'm more of the thought that the lack of video might be the cause.

  11. Good win. Nice to have some clutch hitting and good at-bats. It figures that Tommy Freese Bader Pham Grichuk Piscotty Craig Rasmus Ludwick Schumacker Edman would get the big hit for St. Louis. They always have jags that give the Brewers fits.
  12. You say this repeatedly, but then also say you can't trade him unless you get a Gavin Lux quality prospect back. What do you want Stearns to do, force a trade at gunpoint? I'd like to know what the offers were. If it was Andujar and some other garbage from the Yankees we may as well keep him. If teams were offering a good deal we should have done it. Nothing in baseball is as unpredictable as relief pitching. So few guys are consistent year after year and when you can sell high on any of them you do it. Watch the game. Cheer for the Brewers.
  13. Boy, 2 pages ago this board was worrying about playoff matchups. That talk ended faster than Heyward’s ball left the yard
  14. Suter should incorporate that into his windup. Batters wouldn’t be able to pick it up.
