    Sure there were empty seats, but it was a good crowd. I hesitated to buy tickets because I could not have gone to a day game. And the crowd was plenty loud, until about the 345th man left on base. It's remarkable how quickly that game turned. 3-0, Perdomo singles, and four pitches later the game is tied. Then, the middle innings were such a slog. 2 hours in, only in the top of the fifth. It was hard to keep the energy up.

    I was at the game last night. I was so bummed, that my morning ritual of Brewerfan with my coffee didn't happen. Couldn't bear to read last night's game thread, couldn't make myself log on this morning. Been tough to shake that. Fortunately I have a ton to do, because I left work early yesterday. After everything in the game went wrong, it took us longer to get to the interstate from preferred parking (1 hour 10 min) than it did to drive back to Madison (1 hour 5). Everything about last night sucked.

    Can I derail to say how pissed I am that Texas folded and let the Astros have the division? Houston was two games from missing the playoffs, instead they are the 2 seed and get a week off. I hate them.

    And to add to that, I think we are seriously overplaying the hometown angle as fans. Counsell didn't get to where he is without being incredibly competitive. I am sure the tug of family competing with the pull of a new challenge are a difficult consideration for CC. His calm demeanor doesn't fool me for a minute. The guy is wired to try and win.

    "Cobbled together" rotation, roster "about to nosedive." Come on guys, in 2019 the Brewers won 89 games with a rotation that had Chase Anderson, Zach Davies, Jhoulys Chacin, Adrian Houser, Gio Gonzalez, and Brandon Woodruff making 134 starts. That's cobbled together. Burnes had his well-known 8.82 ERA, and Peralta was just coming on. You're telling me that if they have Peralta, Ashby, Houser, maybe Miley, and a FA that you wouldn't believe they could compete? They still have Yelich, Frelick, Mitchell, Turang, Taylor, Monasterio, Weimer, Chourio, Black, Misiorowski and other promising young players. I choose to have hope. Certainly doesn't seem like a nosedive to me.

    MLB Radio on Sirius last night said they think it is Schumacher’s award. They said Lovullo is next, with “a nod” to the job CC has done. Oh well.
