  1. MLB says strike, FSN had it on the black. That was a strike. The breaker pitch 3 wasn't til he chased it.
  2. Harper's doing a great job of suppressing runs, for both teams.
  3. LANDING is not what he needed to do. He landed before Hiura got the base. The 1b didn't touch the base when he landed. Not close. He landed stopped his momentum then rocked back to tap the base and I'm not honestly sure if he ever did. Replay 8x minimum on hulu. No chance he had the bag before hiura. Close is good enough on the GIDP old school rules at 2nd is the only way Hiura could be deemed out.
  4. Good no challenge. We need 3 feet to get a replay to go our way. He was getting pulled off the bag to the stands. He lands and his foot is 3 inches off the bag, by the time he rocks back Hiura's knee is damn near on the bag. CC do you not have replay guys
  5. HE NEVER TOUCHED THE BAG! Got hulu so I replayed it multiple times... he never touched the bag when he landed. His foot was 3 inches inside the bag and he never got his heel back to it.
  6. For a guy who isn't supposed to be much of a defender he hasn't looked bad at all.
  7. I don't see that anyone mentioned it FSN had a little segment on how Cain had altered his batting stance before his big night the other night. So far results have been much better obviously.
  8. Well done Gio. It's not pretty but through 3 with little damage.
  9. I was adamantly pleading to get Shaw out of the lineup but his days as are starter are only numbered this year if Hiura mashes. Moose is a mutual option, likely opt out. 3b is wide open. Thames is a club option with a 1 mil buyout. No one would argue that Shaw is worse than Thames when Shaw is right. Shaw's got 2 arby left and likely will stay sub 5mil next year if this season ends up with some time in AAA. Shaw is the cheaper (more versatile) 1b platoon mate for Aguilar Shaw is the most likely starting 3b in 2020 Shaw can play 2b to rest Hiura. If they keep Moose, every day is a stretch but other than back up SS ABs, Shaw will get them all and likely see 400 ab between 1b 2b and 3b and random DH when its not Braun.
  10. Yamamoto was the guy I was really concerned about in the Yelich trade. Harrison Diaz Brinson was to get the value right but I worried Yamamoto could be that gem piece that we regret adding in. All the deals last year didn't bother me except Carmona's addition in one of them. I think low level throw ins like us getting Peralta has scared me into not wanting to add low level upside guys in our outgoing deals.
  11. It does not. Because you know he isn't simply overpowering novice hitters at the lower level? Or getting swings on a slider due to poor plate discipline more than fooling batters? Jacob Barnes could put up the same numbers in A and A+.
  12. Not arguing, but blowing 96-99 past youngins can happen when your FB is flat easier than it can as you climb. A slider can fool kids easier than more experienced batters. Any slow down makes you at least wonder how good his stuff is. If numbers kept being as seismic you jump him up again. If they taper off a bit, you pause a bit. All I'm doing is wondering and pausing a bit. He has the arm talent. Deception and movement matter and we don't know to what degree he has that.
  13. I'm excited about Ashby but he only turns 21 soon and his walks are up and he's been a little bipolar. Leftys! A lot of guys drafted from college are already 21 so I wouldn't mind a late season promotion to A+ with him. Sort of a "get comfortable, this is where you start next season."
  14. 2 down... 8 days apart. 3rd and 11th of May. 17th, 23rd and 28th to go? (SA doubleheader on the 27th and he gets back on every 5th schedule) Leaves Memphis on the 29th and meets MKE in Pittsburgh for the 30th as SA goes to Omaha. Sounds right.
  15. Eh Dubon seems utility defense plus, Taylor 4th OF, Erceg is a tease, Orf? I think Ray is Broxton like. I just don't know if the hit tool is consistent enough and I oddly feel Stokes will get the 4th OF shot post Braun. Unless Lutz really starts to catch flight, he's just really young. Aside from Brown I think there is a lot of cannon fodder there. It's not Biloxi but its meh.
  16. well 22ip 4 starts and 4 wins 3 ER 17h....9bb/hb 1.23 era 1.18 whip Before those 4 starts 5.81 era 1.48 whip to 3.72 era 1.32 whip That's what people in the business call a Zach Davies 1st month followed by a Zach Davies 2nd month.
  17. Miley fake out... how about... gio to chacin where you either start your lefties and deal with Gio or you don't and Chacin makes you suffer for 4 innings until its super pen time. We could bluff or not bluff with Gio every series until we actually use him. Game 3 Gio starts they go RHB heavy... in comes Nelson Game 4 Gio starts they do it again... in comes Anderson/Peralta Game 5 Gio starts they don't stack he goes 3-4 ip.
  18. The good: 1.5 ERA and 1 whip over his 1st 6 innings in AA The hmmmm: 2 Ks? The bad: Sample size alert but the GO/AO has fallen to 0.75. It was 1 or 1.25 the levels before.
