As much as we've had long games, last nights game gave the vast majority of the pen an off day. I'd have zero issue opening with Guerra for 2 IP. Peralta does his job in the middle we got Burnes JJ and Hader ready to roll. We certainly can not afford early game yips from Peralta here or we are asking Barnes for 3 miserable innings.

Throwing Hiura's RHRHB (that's right handed red hot bat) into the 6 hole would be a huge boost for this team these next 3. These are not the 3 games for Shaw to get hot. Lefty Lefty Lefty relying on a recently warm bodied Braun and a slowly waking out of hibernation bear in Aguilar is not ideal. No thanks on Perez starting. I'd do it. I'd take Spangenburg off the 40 as he is redundant with Saladino. (not to mention Hiura and Dubon) I'd send Hiura down after the series though. I expect Saladino to get the call up. -
No, I expect Saladino. Yes, but then sent down after we face a LHP LHP LHP. I don't want Shaw out there this series.

Poor of Arcia to ignore Sedar, and poor of Sedar for not sending him... I honestly can't wait for the day that the windmill loses his job. To be fair the throw from RF was really rough and the cut off man struggled with it.

There you go Shaw! Baby steps. Close the book on Freddy. His ERA dropped from 8.31 to 6.75 tonight. Great outing.

1. That was closer than some pitches called for strikes on the outside corner. 2. 96.8.... dang.

Despite solid stuff he really had to survive the first 2 innings. Nothing seemed truly overpowering. I could see him as a long man, inning eater in games where we are down. He did fine but it didn't feel like he was fooling anyone or getting anything easy. At least he has 3 pitches. Peralta has looked decidedly better than Houser.

And Peralta has dropped his ERA 1.01 so far tonight. Keep it up. I forgot it was Peralta when I saw the swing. Nice hit.
