  1. Only read up to this point, but this holds true. Anytime a player breaks out of a slump or has a great game, he finds himself on the bench the next day. Asinine might be an understatement. Success offensively isn’t rewarded on the Brewers and it’s mind boggling. I’m sure there are plenty of instances where a player has had a good game and plays the next day. Well someone like Yelich sure. It’s not every single time, but it happens much more frequently than it should. I recall making a post last year about it. There was I believe 3 instances last season where a player hit two home runs in a game and was benched the next game with Pina being one I remember specifically. Riding a 6 game hit streak and hit two home runs before being benched. I provided other examples back then, but can’t recall of exact times other than that.

Let the man play that is starting to see the baseball well and smoking everything.

  4. It's not really about the results, it's more than that the stuff has been back to where it was pre-2019. If he were throwing 91-92 and just getting lucky, I'd agree with you. But it looks like he's been back. Crawford is really nothing more than an organizational piece and probably more likely than not to never see any significant innings at the MLB level. I would not call the possibility of him being the better player in this deal a very reasonable take. I guess more valuable is more what I was meaning. Knebel could be the better player for the one year left on his deal, but if Crawford is good enough to be a number 5 starting pitcher for us throwing a 4.5 ERA while making the minimum would be extremely valuable. Plus it’s 6 years of control. We shall see. He could be starting the season in AAA and making appearances for us the second half of the season.
  5. He has pitched 3.1 innings this season. The hot takes on this board the first week to ten days this season have been some of the hottest I’ve seen on here. Give it some time to see how it plays out. Crawford has been very good throughout his minor league career. He could reasonably be the better player in the deal. Let’s give it a little more time than 3 innings to draw a conclusion on this.
  6. Weigel is a starting pitcher that has pitched well at every stop through the minors. Both he and Sobotka are big bodies. Weigel will probably make some starts this season for us. Both have walk issues, but Sobotka can really rack up the K’s.
  7. I laughed way too hard at this I needed this today. Thank you
  8. Honestly hoping it’s a first baseman either on the brink of the majors or one at the major league level. Hiura needs some time in the minors. I’ll gladly take a third baseman though too.
  9. Couldn’t have said it better myself. He has some type of philosophy that turns quality MLB hitters into below average players. Whether it’s taking too many pitches, which they do, changing swings into uppercuts instead of maintaining what got them to the big leagues in the first place, being too patient at the plate and then becoming aggressive with 2 strikes. Whatever it is, it’s not working. Obviously somebody has to take the fall. Whether that’s Haines, Counsell, or Stearns himself. I tend to believe it’s a Haines issue since he has proven it in the past to be a bad coach and somehow got this job after we overtook them that very season because of the Cubs’ horrible offense. We reward him by letting him ruin our hitters next? The Cubs passed on him as their hitting coach for a reason. For some reason, we looked past all of the red flags.
  10. This was a horrible hire day one and still rings true. Brought in to be a hitting coach after his team grossly underperformed that same season. Mind boggling.
  11. This is actually interesting. It seems to happen in baseball quite a bit. You would think a guy who was not a very good hitter or pitcher would have not a ton of credibility when it comes to teaching the art. It is something that I wonder about but maybe the guys who are good can't really explain why they were good?? Fair point, I’ve wondered that too. I would have way more faith in a dude that has done it, could make adjustments, and continued to have a good career instead of these nobodies.
  12. Watching this team sit and watch strikes go by pitch after pitch is frustrating. Then once you’re at two strikes, swing at one 8 inches outside the zone! #HiTtInG
  13. I really don’t understand why we hire dudes that couldn’t hit to be HITTING coaches. Coles, Haines, I mean come on. When I heard Bonds was looking for a job, I was hoping we would look into it. Heck, any Hall of Famer that actually knows how to hit and what to do since they could do it themselves. How about Braun??
  14. The Brewers are still yet to lead this season. Excluding the walk off where they technically never led other than the final play.
  15. This is a game where Hiura needs to and should break out of his funk facing a guy he has hit very well in the past. He needs to gain a little confidence and this is a great opportunity for him to do just that.
  16. The defense has been fantastic and the starting pitching has been superb. When the bats come alive, we will win games in bunches.
  17. Yes, Giannis is under contract for 5 more seasons after this year. Middleton for 2 more years with a player option for a third year at $40.4 million.
  18. I think yesterday was just two pitchers dominating their opponents and is not a sign of things to come for the Brewers. I am confident that the Brewers will have a better offense this season than last season. The bad thing about the guys having a good spring is that when the season starts, their hot stretch is over with (if you believe that type of thing). Thursday was a great game with taking walks and getting hits that weren’t home runs. Yesterday we ran into a pitcher that had his filthy stuff working for him.
  19. YES!! Glad they were able to get this done. Now I don’t need to stress about losing him after what we gave up to acquire him for possibly one season! This gives the Bucks a roster that will compete for a championship the next few seasons as long as we remain healthy.
  20. Just watched the game, wow was that offense much more fun to watch! Now THAT is a great collection of players to watch! It was good to see multi hit games from Garcia, Narvaez, and Shaw today. Man did that double for Shaw in the 9th sure had to have been a massive confidence booster for him and will help him settle in for his second stint in Milwaukee!
  21. This makes me all warm and fuzzy. And a little hot and sweaty.
