Not even kidding, let Taylor play first base every day for a few weeks in AAA. Let him transition to a 1B/OF for us and take over full time midseason. Almost like a midseason acquisition. It’ll help the versatility of the club moving forward and if his bat is legit, heck even a .250/.320/.750 hitter, would be sweet. Especially for making the minimum.

These umps are literally making up stuff as they go. There’s not even words to say anymore for things. It’s sad to see umps trying to take over games like this and seemingly deliberately making incorrect calls. These calls recently don’t even make sense. You basically can’t even play the game of baseball anymore because running from first to second base isn’t allowed

They certainly had the talent this year to win it all. There was quite a stretch where you knew Rodgers could carry them to the postseason, but they would fall short. It’s more in reference to prior seasons. This whole situation is just strange. I’m hoping it’s just Rodgers playing hard ball with a contract extension and that’s all there is to it. If the rumors are true on his frustrations towards drafting Love, Rodgers does need to man up and not feel like some rookie is taking his job. He’s the NFL MVP. Nobody is taking his job if he keeps being as dominant as he’s been basically his entire career. There’s nothing wrong with having a competent backup QB. The optics looked bad when Love was drafted and if Gute is basically only restructuring Rodgers’ contract for one season through 2022, then there’s plenty of blame to go around. Both sides need to commit to each other. It’s in the best interest for all parties involved.

Why does something need to be done with Gutekunst? He's a good GM. It's not like he's done a terrible job. I guess he could have communicated the Love thing better to Rodgers last year but that's certainly not a fireable offense. You certainly can't let a player, even a star player, strong-arm you into firing front office guys. That's a terrible precedent to set. Who would want to be the GM of this team if a player can fire you? Rodgers is the cream of the crop best player of all time talent. He shouldn’t have let it get to this point. That’s a massive failure on his part for not communicating with Rodgers. And in my opinion, even before the draft last year, I was thinking they didn’t need to consider drafting a quarterback replacement for at least 2 more years at the EARLIEST. Rodgers stated numerous times in the past about wanting to play into his 40’s. There really wasn’t signs of him regressing as a player when he was playing with an injured leg and then learning a completely new system while still maintaining a 6/1 TD/INT ratio. Once Rodgers was healthy and had his second year in a non-McCarthy system, he flourished. But I do agree in that I think Gutekunst has done a good job in building a roster both through the draft and in free agency. If I personally had to make the decision, Rodgers would get a new contract guaranteeing him through his age 41 or 42 season and Gutekunst would be shown the door. In my eyes, if you as a franchise piss off the greatest player of all time, refuse to give him a large extension when he’s still dominant, and force him out of town for some rookie when the player himself wants to play another 5+ years, you’re an idiot. (The Favre and Rodgers situations are much different in that Favre wasn’t sure if he would keep playing so they drafted a replacement compared to a guy who wanted to play for basically a minimum of 5 years more. Even if Love is a quality quarterback in the future, his cheap years were riding the bench and will be a $30+ million guy quickly because his team control is used up). You will lose the fan’s trust, the board’s trust, and the player’s trust. The fallout from fans across the state will be massive. Going down this road wouldn’t be good for anybody. This is one of those situations where somebody will likely need to take the fall. And in my eyes, keeping the greatest player of all time for another half decade instead of going down in history as the franchise that didn’t do enough around him in the first place and forced him out of town when he wanted to stay and play for a long time still, that’s a big big scar on the organization that will never go away.

At this point, you hold onto Rodgers. I think he cares too much about his legacy as a player to just walk away. He wants to keep pumping up his stats. He won’t retire after throwing 48 touchdowns in a season and being the NFL MVP. He won’t write a $30 million check to the Packers. The Packers retained every single key offensive player the last couple seasons. I don’t see any way Rodgers straight up retires at this point. Something may need to be done with Gutekunst and that is up to Murphy to decide. I am not sure how they can work it all out at this point.

Wonder if they wanted someone with a little more experience behind the plate for Bettinger's start? Has either of Feliciano or Nottingham been Bettinger’s catcher throughout the minors? That may have something to do with their decision today.

How about we sign Braun and he can be our first baseman? We don’t lose anything defensively transitioning to him from Hiura or Vogelbach. Hiura is going to find himself in AAA here shortly anyway. How nice would a .250/.300/.780 bat look in our lineup at this point? It’s a right handed bat that can still hit 20-25 home runs. #BringBackBraun

Bettinger is carrying us to a series sweep tonight. He’s the next great starting pitcher to come through our system!

I was having the same thought last night too! It sure feels a lot like the 2018 team this year with just doing enough and finding ways to win.

Unfortunate for Narvaez, but exciting for Feliciano! He’s got a bright future with the Brewers. Hopefully he will contribute in his first taste at the big league level.

Can he play catcher?

This is a very strong draft so far through Day 2. The Rodgers pick is a great addition to this offense. Great speed, good route runner, he should find his place in this offense.

I heard from a reputable source that Love is actually hanging up the cleats and starting a full time gig on Sesame Street. Love ‘n Grouch is expected to be the new big children’s hit.

I imagine any type of hamstring strain is going to be a week+. Risking reaggravating the injury by coming back to soon would really suck. An IL stint seems likely.

Narvaez hurt now in the game this evening. Do the Brewers have a new strength and conditioning coach? If so, that could be an interesting development. The amount of injuries we have sustained is a real problem so far in 2021. It is something worth looking into at this point.

How did they tick him off? I'm assuming he's mad because they had the nerve to draft his replacement when he didn't want to go. Well he had a pretty pedestrian 2019 so they had reason to think that a 37YO QB was declining and they needed to consider a replacement. He kept quite until he had his MVP season then within minutes of that season ending started his scorched earth approach. As people who know him have leaked he takes any slight and revisits it over and over and over again. His actions these last few months clearly is his revenge for the nerve of the Packers considering replacing him. He's Aaron Rodgers...!!! We're going to BEG for that type of "pedestrian" season once Rodgers leaves. People don’t realize how great he still was. He played hurt all of 2018 and in 2019, he still wasn’t 100% confident in the leg while also learning a totally new offense. His passer rating was still 95+ those two seasons. Once he got past the injury and learned the new offense, he dominated. Rodgers was still an easy top 10 QB those seasons. Over 30 seasons straight of a Hall of Fame quarterback at the helm. We could do much much worse and it’s going to be a real wake up call for some once Rodgers isn’t under center. His “down” seasons would be career years for 80% of the league.

Getting a vaccine is a personal choice. You don’t need to like his decision to not get one if he hasn’t, but it’s his body, his life, and his choice.

Not an exciting pick, but it does fill a hole. Hopefully he can come in and be a day 1 starter.

Ronnie Perkins could be a nice pick this late in the 2nd.
