  1. That is a very interesting trade, but it might even be a tad light in my opinion. I do think it’s pretty close and maybe it’s just my opinion on not being as high on Lewis as others might be which is why I see it the way I do. Here I attached the value of the trade according to the MLB Simulator of the proposed trade today on MLB Network and below I will show the value of the trade I proposed a few days ago.
  2. It just blows my mind how far professional athletes, governors, and the general public in general are taking this without knowing much if any facts about the case. In some cases, people will straight up ignore the facts to continue to spew their agenda even if there are facts proving something otherwise. I find it baffling that opinions and assumptions are taken as gospel now by such a large amount of people instead of waiting for facts to come out. What happened to the days where facts were exactly that, facts? Even in some situations, the FACTS will still get dismissed because... well... that’s not what they want to hear or believe.
  3. THAT is good news. I would hate to move him, but if someone comes calling with the right offer, you have to do it. It almost feels like he is going to get traded, if not now, at the deadline next year. It feels inevitable to me. For some reason, this just seems like the year Hader is moved. I think Hader is going to be traded in the next week.
  4. Basically you can bank on a top 20 prospect with another top 75 or so. Or a couple top 50 guys at the least. I think we match up extremely well with the Twins and Padres specifically. The Braves and Dodgers are the other two teams that have the pieces to make a trade work if they are interested. Are there any other teams I’m missing that would have the pieces to pull it off? Do the Phillies even have enough to pull off a trade? I’m not exactly blown away by what they have personally.
  5. An interesting thought experiment... Would you trade Hader straight up to get Grisham back? I would not, but I wouldn’t be shocked if others would. I think Grisham is going to be a solid player, but right now I think he’s being inflated by his performance (and hype) over a very brief period. That’s exactly how I feel. I certainly would not trade Hader for Grisham straight up either. Grisham may become a good player, but at this point he certainly isn’t worth more than 3.5 years of the most dominant relief pitcher in the game.
  6. Grisham is now more valuable than Hader and Hiura I guess? Sounds legit. I guess we got fleeced. Too bad we can’t trade Hader straight up for Grisham. They are giving up too much to the Brewers if they were to do that.
  7. Hear me out on this one... Brewers Receive: OF/1B Alex Kirilloff OF Trevor Larnach 2B/3B/OF Travis Blankenhorn OR 2B/3B Ildemaro Vargas C/Util Willians Astudillo (yes please) Twins Receive: LHP Josh Hader OF Corey Ray The Brewers receive their first baseman of the future in Kirilloff who can also play the outfield. They get a guy that I am extremely high on in Larnach, who I think will be a multiple time All-Star during his career. The third guy is either prospect Blankenhorn or utility man Ildemaro Vargas. Blankenhorn is in the upper minors and holding his own. The Brewers could use him predominantly as a third baseman and hope that he fills the gap there long term. Vargas would be a cheap utility man that the Brewers could use to take the Perez role. The Brewers also get Astudillo, who is the king of anti three true outcomes. Not only is he a solid hitter, but he can play multiple positions (most notably first and third) and can catch once in a while if he is hot and would become the emergency third string catcher. He’s the man you want at the plate with runners in scoring position and less than 2 outs. You know the ball is going to get hit into play. He’s a great pinch hitting option for those late game situations. The Brewers are starting to show a bunch of promise with guys in their bullpen. This would free up the money Hader is owed, allow us to get cheap controllable talent in Kirilloff and Larnach most notably, with Astudillo and possibly Vargas being the cheap bench bats. This allows us to move on from the likes of Smoak and Sogard in the offseason to allow a ton of financial flexibility to bring in a big bat, someone like Justin Turner on a short deal as a stopgap at third that is still a middle of the order bat. The Twins get Hader and Corey Ray. Hader they get for 4 seasons to make a true run in the playoffs. This also gets Hader out of the NL. Ray is part of the return package to help offset the outfield depth they are losing from Kirilloff and Larnach and would be a guy they can say to their fans was a former top 5 pick to help ease the common fan and is a guy who could be a late bloomer. The Twins get a low risk, high reward prospect thrown into the deal to help even it out. Opening Day 2021 lineup SS Urias 2B Hiura LF Yelich 3B Turner 1B Kirilloff DH Braun C Narvaez RF Garcia CF Cain Bench: Astudillo, Vargas, Pina, Free Agent If they decide to let Braun go, they will have the money to bring in another solid everyday bat. I would love to see them bring Braun back on a small one year deal for like $5 million and sign someone like Michael Brantley and I think they would be able to fit that into the payroll pretty easily. Signing Brantley adds a left handed bat to the mix that is a fantastic hitter. Freeing up the money from Sogard, Smoak, and Arcia would get you close to signing Brantley. Holt, Hader, and the extra $6.25 million from Moose, Grandal, and Thames’ contract off the books would pay a good chunk for Turner. This is getting way ahead obviously and the main point is to move Hader to get a couple highly regarded prospects as well as a couple guys to help out now and provide decent production cheaply the next few years instead of needing to overpay for mediocre talent like Smoak and Sogard types in the future.
  8. The Brewers got a top 25 prospect in the game that plays a premium position for 6 seasons and 5 seasons of a pitcher with two solid seasons for a track record of sub 4 ERA if you remove his Colorado starts. Davies was a good not great starting pitcher that only had 2 years left of control and Grisham was nothing special outside of a hot few months. He was a first round pick that was always young for his level, but really wasn’t standing out like you would hope he would prior to that. One other point that may get overlooked is that is it at least possible that Grisham may have wanted to start over new somewhere else after his error in the Wild Card Game? After the Wild Card Game, I mentioned that Grisham may have played his last game with Milwaukee after the error. Whether he believed that fans would never forgive him or he felt that he let an entire city down, or something of the like, he certainly could have approached Stearns and said that he would appreciate a new start elsewhere. These are humans after all that feel just like the rest of us. It’s quite possible that him staying in Milwaukee just wasn’t a possibility after that game.
  9. Wow, I did not see that coming at all.
  10. I think this is about the best lineup they can turn out right now. Glad to see the young guys playing.
  11. I wonder if he is starting to feel the pressure and that’s why he started barking at the umpire when Gamel was up batting? I agree in that too many guys have struggled when brought here and succeeded to an extent elsewhere. Who? Andy Haines was barking at the umpire from the dugout.

  13. I love Braun but he just isn't the same player and Garcia sucks. He doesn’t need to be the player he used to be. He’s still a 25 homer, .285/.350/.850 hitter. He’s still a middle of the order bat and is sorely missed when he’s not playing.
  14. Sogard thinking of being a hero by jumping into the net again only to drop the foul pop not even close to the wall.
  15. “Welcome to Slam Diego”! Pretty cool quote from their broadcast last night after their 4th grand slam in as many days.
  16. This lineup just doesn’t look like a playoff caliber squad. I think they are pretty lucky to have as many wins as they do. I’m glad to see some young arms showing some promise thus far in 2020 though. Small step back this year I think, but it should pay off with a big step forward next season.
  17. In what way is A.J. Preller desperate? The Padres have not had a winning season in 10 years. They also made a couple pretty big trades this past offseason including trading the MLB ranked 23rd best prospect prior to 2019 and a controllable starting pitcher for 2 years of Davies and Grisham. I don’t think it’s out of the realm of possibility for Preller to make some type of big mid season trade since they are playing well and have already shown signs of making a run in 2020 back in December. The bullpen is their big weakness and Hader is a top end talent that they would have for 3.5 years. I would gladly take Luis Patino and Luis Campusano as the main two pieces for a Hader trade. With Patino struggling a little bit in his first few appearances, they may be a little more willing to deal him. He is extremely young obviously, but the shine can wear off quickly sometimes. Add a third MLB ready piece like OF Josh Naylor who has held his own so far in his career and you have the makings of a pretty enticing deal.
  18. The Brewers do have a club option for 2021 on Holt which may sway them to keep him on the roster even though he has struggled early on. It is for $5 million, but if he were to carry the .360+ OBP he has the last two seasons, it would be well worth it. I don’t feel like 24 at bats for Holt in 2020 is enough to cut bait at this point.
  19. The Padres have a big need for bullpen help right now with them currently having one of the worst bullpen ERA’s in baseball. They certainly have the prospects to get a deal done. I wonder if Stearns could pry Gore away from the Padres if they are desperate enough. Hader would give them an All-Star reliever for 3.5 years to pair with their young core already in place. The Padres have a plethora of high end talent in their system and could get a deal done even without Gore if Stearns wanted to go that route. But Stearns would have the leverage in the negotiations with not needing to move Hader and could demand Gore as the centerpiece.
