  1. Looks like he needs shoulder surgery and is likely out for the season. Consider that a bullet dodged.
  2. Guy on NFL Network said if he got a negative test today and tomorrow, he could still fly to Arizona tomorrow and technically play. Longshot, though.
  3. Having Janis back might actually help for this game... or I'm not sure Unless he's going to sell them tires to outfit the bus going from the team hotel to the stadium, I doubt it LOL.
  4. Bingo. Mets are a big market, but it's a joke of an organization. Ownership under Cohen doesn't seem to have righted any of those past wrongs. It's more than just the record and number of championships that continue to make the Mets the Yankees' little brother.
  5. I very rarely bet anymore but I am really going to think about the Packers straight up. I think it's a long shot, but definitely an intriguing one. You always have a chance with someone like Rodgers. This definitely seems like the type of game that Rodgers goes superhuman for. It's almost like he takes adversity as an additional challenge and raised his level of play to compensate.
  6. It's been reported widely that Arnold actually pulled his name out of the running. Obviously there is more to this story that we'll likely never know
  7. I'd argue that Ashby, Perez and Wiemer are all currently valued substantially higher than anyone in the Yelich package not named Brinson. Harrison was coming off a nice season, so his value was decent (10-15 range Brewers prospect wise). Diaz had a terrible year, but had prospect pedigree and perhaps was still ranked around 10-ish. Yamamoto was much further down the line, probably in the 20s. Mitchell, Ashby, Perez and Wiemer are legit Top 5 organization prospects.
  8. LOL ... the Mets are a completely toxic organization. No one wants to touch them. No one wants to answer to Sandy Alderson either.
  9. Is it? Alderson is still going to be the head shot caller. It would likely be a lateral move for Arnold. Only instead of answering to David Stearns, he'll be answering to Sandy Alderson.
  10. He will be eligible for arbitration next year, and the earliest he can be a free agent is 2026.
  11. Ground yourself in this comment above people. I watched Joey hit the walk off home run the last week off the season in Appleton, but before that he had left like 11 men stranded on base with pop ups and strike outs. And that is A plus baseball. He has a lot of work yet to do. That being said, he could be Corey Hart. I get that you are likely simply trying to exercise caution, but I don't see much reason not to be very excited about Weimer's trajectory. The kid has seemingly ironed out the contact and lack of power issues he had as a college hitter, and has looked like a stud so far. The fact that he continues to look like a stud in the AFL (long seen as a proving ground for prospects who are close to MLB ready) only adds to the helium he has as a prospect. A big test will be how he does next spring. Lets not forget that he'll already be 23 years old by the time the 2022 season starts. I'm very interested to see where he gets placed. I would expect that if he has a good spring, it'll be Biloxi, with an outside shot at Nashville.
  12. Yeah, it's my understanding that if it is a promotion, the Brewers have no choice but to let the Mets speak to him... I read somewhere yesterday that it is very possible that Arnold has language in his contract that bars him from seeking a promotion somehow. I think this is simply a way for the Brewers to get some sort of compensation from the Mets for Arnold.
  13. If the Brewers could get player compensation back for letting Arnold go to New York ... that would be pretty sweet.
  14. I don't think it would cost near that much. Right now those four are probably four of the top 5 prospects in the Brewers' system. I think you are looking at a deal that would be similar to what the Brewers traded for Yelich. Brinson was the biggest prize of that deal going back to the Marlins. In this case, he was probably a little higher in value to Mitchell, but they are pretty close. Harrison was considered to be further away, albeit a strong prospect. Diaz was coming off a poor season. Yamamoto was a decent pitching prospect, but not anything close to Ashby. I think a deal for Reynolds probably looks much more like: CF Garrett Mitchell SS Freddy Zamora CF Joe Gray Jr. P Abner Uribe I see guys like Mitchell and Turang as potentially tradeable. Maybe Ashby, Weimer and Perez are movable in the right deal. There's just no way they package all those guys together in one deal, though. There's simply too much helium among the four of them.
  15. I am curious about the bolded part. That seems like 100% speculation to me. Was there any legit news out there that Hader was even on the market last offseason, much less that his trade market was depressed? I think it was pretty well established that he was indeed available and that teams did not meet our asking price. https://fansided.com/2021/01/29/brewers-josh-hader-trade-rumors/ Yeah, I remember reading that story. How's that the same as saying that there was a "very depressed market" though? Reading that teams didn't meet the team's high ask and drawing out of it that there was a depressed market for his services is a pretty big negative leap in my mind.

  17. Rashan Gary is a stud, and I kinda love it. Lots of egg on the faces of the barstool GMs.
  18. Second verse, same as the first ...
  19. That isn't really the case, though. He's had plenty of games as a Packer where he played well. However, he has had a handful of poor performances in big moments, and when combined with the number of games he's missed in his career due to injury, it has created a narrative that his is terrible, causing fans to overlook the times when he's played well. I'm not trying to claim that the guy is some kind of world beater. He most definitely is not. But he also isn't a total liability out there when used correctly, either. Against the right types of offenses, and matched up on the right type of WRs, he's a solid CB. He's a large man for a CB, and typically does well when matched up on bigger, more physical WRs. It's the smaller, faster guys that have typically toasted him in the past. And part of that blame goes to coaching and scheme that is leaving him matched up on those types. He also tends to have a lot of injuries due to his physical play. Kevin King is far from a great player, but he also gets a bad rap from this fanbase. He was expected to be a shut-down corner earlier in his career, and he most definitely isn't that. He has the talent to be a usable physical bump-and-run boundary CB on big WRs, though.
  20. King was playing very well against the Bengals before he went down with the shoulder injury. He is a skilled corner when matched up with the right type of opponent. I realize the narrative is that he sucks, and him being hurt is a blessing in disguise, but in reality, that isn't the case.
  21. #FireWhoeverTheNewGuyIs There ... just getting ahead of the game.
  22. Seems quite a bit of people consider the entire infield a lock, which includes Tellez. I have definitely seen more than one person call him the 1B going into next year. I mean, as the roster is currently constructed, he pretty much is the 1B going into next year by default. It personally wouldn't surprise me, though, if 1B is a spot they look to get a needle-mover bat. Who knows ... maybe Tellez will be used as a trade chip to acquire said bat? But if they choose to devote limited resources to other areas of the roster (3B, RF), then I don't have much issue rolling with Tellez, or even a Tellez/Hiura platoon to begin the year. I think it's a given that there will be a few unknowns going into the 2022 season.
  23. Except for providing the majority of the offense in the play-offs of course. Really means nothing though. Jeff Suppan was once the NLCS MVP, sure didn't mean much for future results. I am not a Rowdy Tellez hater by any means. I was actually one of the people pretty optimistic when we picked him up and thought he could be useful. I just don't think he is some guy we should just be locking into the 1B job before the offseason even starts. I think the optimism in him going into next year is a bit too high. Where do you see high optimism in him? I wouldn't consider venturing so far as to call him a lock for the roster "high optimism". I think most have pretty tempered expectations when it comes to him.
  24. My guess is you add another $5.5M to the Adames and Burnes pair. That really isn't the way arbitration works. Those guys will be going through it for the first time, and will be limited on how much they can make, regardless of how productive they are.
  25. What don't you understand about the title of this thread? This isn't your first transgression.
