  1. None of us know what was said immediately after the play or even during the commercial break, though. Just because Counsell wasn't out there pulling his best Lou Pinella impression doesn't mean he didn't get justification.
  2. So much for Godley finding something at the alternative site that made him an obvious choice over easier and, arguably, better candidates.
  3. Me neither. I think the Packers did exactly what they wanted to in the 1st round last year. Fans may not agree with that plan, but it was pretty obvious what they were doing.
  4. Exactly. I'm sure he said his piece. Play isn't reviewable, and they aren't going to reverse it at that point.
  5. I have no idea how Counsell doesn't put up any fight there but it didn't look like any player said a word either. They were probably too dumb founded at what happened to know what to say. What can you say? That is probably the first time that has happened ... well ... ever.
  6. Routine comebacker to Godley, and he flipped it to Vogelbach to beat the runner by 10 feet. They called (I guess) that Godley impeded the runner, even though he didn't come within 5 feet of him.
  7. 2 hits and 4 more Ks in the last two games against two lefties who his is supposed to mash will do that.
  8. Exactly. Situations such as these typically have a way of working themselves out.
  9. How much do you pay per month for Spectrum cable service, if you don't mind me asking?
  10. This very well may eventually happen, but I don't see them making a move like this a month into the season. Unless it truly comes down to a roster crunch. Sucks for a guy like Taylor, who may very well go down even though it's completely undeserved, just because he has that option.
  11. I think the key is that you typically aren't tied in to any sort of contract with a streaming service, so you can jump around. Like if you want to watch the Brewers, you can get AT&T TV April through September, then just drop it ... with no fuss. If you want to watch the new season of Ted Lasso in July, you can get Apple TV, watch what you want to watch, then drop it. I think people appreciate having the flexibility of not being tied down to a two-year contract. At least I do. Yeah, right now I am paying for AT&T TV, Netflix and the Disney bundle (Disney+, ESPN+ and Hulu). It's roughly $115, which is right around what I was paying for DISH Network a few years ago before I dropped it. But with kids, I'd probably still be paying for Netflix and the Disney stuff even if I was still with DISH, and I wouldn't have the Brewers (since DISH dropped the Fox Sports RSNs). So to me, while the price is a little higher right now, I'm still coming out ahead in the long run.
  12. You are correct. McKinney has cooled off a bit since his scorching series against the Padres. That is likely to happen with Taylor as well. The two are not too dissimilar, other than hitting from opposite sides of the plate. The league is going to quickly catch up to how to attack Taylor, and it will be up to him to adjust.
  13. Pretty cool that Yelich goes down, and McKinney and now Taylor take turns imitating him while the team continues to win. Stuff like that must really piss off fans of other teams sometimes, but that's baseball. Sometimes the least likely guy comes out of nowhere and gets hot. I'm more than happy to ride out this hot streak with Taylor and see where it goes. Things in that OF are gonna look mighty crowded if the indications are correct and Cain and Yelich will be back within the week.
  14. Or it means Godley has shown so well at the alternate site that they were not only willing to bypass the easiest decision, which would have been giving Suter a spot start, hoping they get 6-7 out of him and Weigel, and handing off to the pen, but they also bypassed what would have been the easier transaction to make, which would have been elevating Lauer or Bettinger, or just let Weigel make the start. It gives me a glimmer of hope that they may have unlocked something in Godley that they are excited to see against another MLB team.
  15. Now Robertson has been placed on the concussion list, and Ray is back. Too much yo-yo this early in the season.
  16. Would bet dollars to doughnuts it will be Suter. Weigel will serve as a length option should Houser or Suter not last long today and tomorrow.
  17. Within seven days of the transaction, he can either be traded, reassigned (if he clears) or placed on irrevocable outright waivers. This transaction was announced on April 22, so I believe he is still in DFA limbo.
  18. Nottingham was on the 40-man. The issue is he's out of options. Maile isn't. Also, I do not believe you can rescind the DFA process once it's begun.
  19. Rough timing for Nottingham. He likely would have been the one getting the call had he not been DFA'd a few days ago.
  20. Good point. Not as exciting, though. Weigel provides a little "mystery of the unknown." But the more I think about it, you are probably right. They may even have to make another move, depending on how the pen is used tonight.
  21. Will Sammon @WillSammon · 45s RHP Patrick Weigel, acquired in the Orlando Arcia trade, has been added from the alt site, Brewers announced. Phil Bickford was optioned. Guess we know who is getting the start tomorrow. I'm excited to see him.
