  1. I mean, I get that you are the biggest Pina fan here, but this was surely in jest, right? Because if it wasn't .... um ...
  2. Every SS on the free agent market can also handle 3B. In fact, given Stearns's track record for seeking versatility, I would be very surprised if he acquired a 3B via free agency that also couldn't handle the middle infield.
  3. That sucks. Horrible break for Manny. Omar has to step up with a full time role. I expect Nottingham or Frietas to play 1-2 times a week.
  4. Have you looked at what solid relievers make nowadays? $4.5 million isn't detrimental. ...and Phelps is good. Exactly. This team can't be in the business of dumping affordable assets for nothing.
  5. They'll probably make a few minor type moves. But last year's minor type moves turned into Jordan Lyles and Drew Pomeranz, who led the team to a playoff spot last year, so who knows.
  6. Have you looked at what solid relievers make nowadays? $4.5 million isn't detrimental.
  7. It may seem like more, but Justin Grimm has a grand total of 4 appearances.
  8. Please sell high on Hader. Get something back to build for the future. And Justin Grimm is a goner. I applaud what this team did yesterday, but they had the momentum of two straight wins against the Reds, and promptly lost it.
  9. Could be worse. The Reds are paying Moustakas $12M for 0.0 WAR... ... and Votto $25M for -0.8 bWAR. Just out of curiosity what are we paying Braun this year? $17 million .... for -0.4 WAR
  10. Phelps has a 2021 club option. He'll be back. Unless he's dealt before Tuesday.
  11. Well, considering the number of guys that are here on short-term or 1-year deals, I would expect a fairly significant roster turnover again for 2021.
  12. Well, Thames is terrible .... like substantially worse than Smoak this year. I don't get why so many Brewer fans miss the guy. He was average for a couple years here, and had some nice moments, but dropping him was no loss at all. ANd Moose signed a monster deal with the Reds. Thames has a -.0.2 WAR and 55 OPS+ this year Smoak has a -0.3 WAR and 88 OPS+ this year Smoak has been the better hitter, but both have been equally worthless in different ways. I don't miss Thames, but Smoak hasn't been substantially better. And Smoak is substantially cheaper than Thames's option would have been this year.
  13. Yes, he hurt his knee on a weird pick-off attempt by Miley.

  15. Speaking of Hader, it’s sort of incredible that he hasn’t even thrown 10 innings yet this year. If this was a 162-game season he would be on pace to throw less than 50 innings. The past two years he’s thrown 81.1 IP and 75.2 IP. If they are going to use him as exclusively a one-inning 9th inning guy, it's time to sell.
  16. Seat is not hot by any means, but he's under the microscope for 2021. Not at all hot. But his offensive signings have been done for awhile and we are supposed to accept him as genius. Been a pretty atrocious offseason and that includes Yelich extension. There is no GM in baseball that wouldn't have ran to the table to sign Yelich to the extension he signed. Scuffling for 30 games in the wierdest season in MLB history isn't going to change that.
  17. We don’t have much to sell. Phelps maybe, but even he’s probably more useful next year than what we’d get for him. If a team comes to the table offering a couple cornerstone-type young offensive players for Hader, you gotta listen. Can't go into 2021 filling holes with Sogard types again.
  18. Seat is not hot by any means, but he's under the microscope for 2021.
  19. He'll snap out of this crazy funk he's in. I just hoped and thought it would have happened by now. Not sure what the issue is.
  20. He's been money in that spot the last couple years. This year, routine grounder to SS. Not sure what is wrong with him this year, but there's definitely something wrong.
  21. He has crazy stuff. I wish he could harness it. I wonder if there is a difference in the MLB ball compared to the ones used in the KBO? I vaguely remember reading a story about pitchers not being able to command the MLB ball as well.
  22. The Reds are a train wreck, just like they were last year. Sometimes a team just doesn't add up to the sum of its parts.
  23. I know this offense has sucked for most of the season, but it's a 2-run deficit. That is a tad hyperbolic.
  24. Hard to get a lot of experience in the booth when you are pitching up to, well, a few months ago.
  25. At least he brings some personality to the booth. Rock has the personality of, well, a rock.
