  1. I don't trust any of those huge offensive numbers these AAAA guys are putting up in San Antonio. I mean, it's good to see Shaw hitting better, but its hard to trust those considering most of their other previously junk MLB hitters are tearing the cover off the ball down there.
  2. More like 10 year olds trading baseball cards.
  3. This grass is always greener junk is getting pretty far fetched.
  4. Plus Ben Gamel has been a perfect fit for his role this year. Absolutely no reason to send him down, and I don't expect the Brewers to even consider it, barring something unforeseen.
  5. This is the optimism thread, man. It's because Salad man is going to hit at a Triple Crown level the rest of the year.
  6. Nice drama-free inning there from JJ. Good to see. Heck of a win! This team is picking it up.
  7. Russell Martin did it fairly often Didn't Jason Kendall lead off quite a bit, including during his time as a Brewer? Perhaps I'm misremembering?
  8. Like I suggested a couple days ago ... i really, really appreciate your enthusiasm and positive attitude. This board needs more of that. But it may do you some good to cut down on the posting frequency a tad. You're kinda commanding the room. A lot of these thoughts may be able to be efficiently combined. Not meaning to rip on you. Just trying to constructively help
  9. Cool. Doesnt change anything. Shaw updates Grisham updates And What happened in the cubs games. 3 mainstays in every igt. For better or worse. I don't mind the Shaw and Grisham updates, because those are Brewer related. I agree completely on the constant Cubs fear, though. Could care less in July.
  10. I don't think Dubon has been down 10 days yet, and he'd be the logical swap. I just don't trust the offensive numbers being put up by the other IFers in San Antonio like Spangenberg, Orf, Hager, etc.
  11. You scream about trading for an arm, then suggest trading off arguably the one who's performing the best this year? Odd ... I just cannot understand why Davies doesn't get more love around here. All the guy has done is produce when healthy.
  12. That would be incredibly disappointing if they just make a couple of small moves...go big or go home. Or ... and hear be out here .... they stay away from overrated "name" guys and instead make smart acquisitions.
  13. Woodruff is a TOR arm, and Davies is pretty dang close to that level. They could use more depth in the rotation to be sure, but I don't think it's a good idea to give up a huge amount of capital just because the guy you're trading for has a recognizable name.
  14. This team could reel of 10 in a row, and the sky would still only be held up by binder twine and scotch tape.
  15. We will need Shaw to play third next year. Not too mention who would leave the 25 man roster to make room for Kipnis? Well, I'm pretty sure our starting 2B has plenty of options remaining
  16. That is what happens when you stare at batting average numbers and ignore everything else in an effort to make a point. Not really Trust me ... I share in the skepticism, especially for a kid with as small of a AAA sample size as what he has right now. The quality ABs and OBP have always been there with him, though, and I just think those are more important with a young, developing player. Grisham has been kicking around the minor league system for awhile, so I get why the "prospect shine" has worn off. It's nice to see him fulfilling that potential that made him a 1st round pick. I agree, though, Brew4u. He's not a relief pitcher. I apologize for participating in yet another thread that is going off the rails.

  18. Starting pitching ERA over the last 18 games is 2.52. That includes a few Houser stinkers. That seems pretty ok to me. Starting pitching isn't the problem. If they acquire a starter, I think it's going to be a guy with control beyond this year. But the pen is where additions are needed.
  19. Not sure that they have a choice sometimes. I’m sure a lot of teams want to wait to see where there team ends up by July 31st. And hold out to get their best deal. This is spot on. Teams will trade pieces right now, but it is in their best interest to hold out for the best deal they can get, which is why the deadline is just a crazy time. The guys that are in high demand, which is going to include every high leverage reliever on the market, are going to have multiple teams bidding on them, and their owners are going to hold out for the best package.
  20. Agreed ... and that sucks, because besides the fact that he seems to be a great guy and has a great story, he was nails last year. But yeah, every time he pitches, batters are squaring up on him. He so rarely gave up hard contact last year. His stuff doesn't look drastically different. Hard to put a finger on what the difference, is.
  21. Poor Chase. Honestly, you're right, it's really probably not that big of a deal to either Anderson or Stearns, but I think many of us felt the same way Anderson does. Obviously the Brewers' plan didn't work, but I think everyone understands why they did it, even though many disagreed with it. It's water under the bridge at this point. Hiura is up now, and he likely isn't going anywhere for a long time.
