  1. I appreciate your enthusiasm. Perhaps just tone down the frequency of your posts a bit, and you should be golden, man. I'm not gonna complain ... this team has played really well since you joined
  2. He's taking over multiple threads. The new Baskin Robbins flavor of the month I love that Grisham has broken out ... But lets not anoint him the messiah quite yet. Hell, the Shroud of Keston isn't even dry yet!
  3. That was pretty much a textbook throw an at-bat away. I think you guys may be answering the question why Chef Salad is getting so much play.
  4. Smith is good, but he's still a rental reliever. They're dreaming.
  5. I wonder if he had some sort of opt-out if another club offered a major league deal?
  6. 1. Guerra was a dumpster fire in the 8th. I guess that really wasn't a surprise. Hader was fine, though. Two dink singles and a grounder that just found a hole. 2. I think it is tough to fault the Brewers for trying to get Shaw right. You just can't give up on a middle-of-the-order power bat. Obviously the plan failed, but it was pretty easy to see and understand why they did it. 3. Pina dropped a 3rd strike from Hader to Freeman, then airmailed the ball over Aguilar's head at 1st base to put Freeman on. Pretty ugly play. It's a win! Enjoy it man!
  7. And what a sad thing that will be for the historically pitching cursed Milwaukee Brewers. Imagine 2017 Jimmy Nelson at the front of the rotation with 2019 Brandon Woodruff. Why can't we have nice things? I think we should let the guy start his rehab assignment and see how he does before we decide he's done. His results at the ML level this year are a pretty small sample, and no one would deny that he showed some flashes. Coming back from a huge injury is tough. I would hate for the Brewers to devote that time and energy into his rehab, only to cut him loose, and have him go to a team like the Cardinals, where he'd probably instantly turn into 2017 Jimmy. If anything, he's another potential pen arm for the stretch run that throws mid 90s with solid breaking stuff. You can do worse, as the Brewers have shown.
  8. You know all of the sudden with Woodruff, Davies, and Anderson with the numbers they have, the rotation doesn't look so horrible. Even Houser has shown some flashes of success. It's the bullpen that has been really concerning. Saw this in a tweet today: Brewers starting pitchers came into the day with a 2.77 ERA since June 27, third in baseball in that stretch. Plus another 5 2/3 scoreless today. Starters have been fine. The pen needs help. Obviously. I expect Stearns to address it. Moving Houser back to the pen should help.
  9. This feels like a huge win. Very huge. Really nice to slap Keuchel around after the bellyaching about the Brewers not signing him. Really nice start from Anderson today. And Mr. Stearns, get shopping. It's reliever buying time!
  10. I don't think you could have drawn up more of a prototype for what this lineup was lacking. Hits to all fields, gives you good at bats, and best of all, his right-handed stick balanced the lineup in a big way. I would hope that the K rate will subside at some point.
  11. So Guerra gets credit for not locating that pitch which was supposed to be down and away and was up and in? It was pretty by Donaldson though Location was bad, but the end result was a pitch that should not have been able to be deposited in the seats.
  12. Nice job by Guerra limiting the damage to Donaldson's bomb. But can we please, for crimity's sake, stop walking the leadoff guy in every late-inning pen situation?
  13. To Guerra's credit, most hitters aren't going to be able to get around on and up and in 96 mph fastball like Donaldson did. That was pretty impressive.
  14. Up 5 runs right now? I mean, I know he hasn't pitched much lately, but I hate to pitch him two innings in a 5-0 game and lose him for the Diamondbacks.
  15. Electric stuff or not, what's the point of keeping a pitcher on the ML roster who cannot be trusted wherever he's used?
  16. Actually his frame is perfect for generating crazy power with the leverage he can get. I don’t disagree with the leverage part but you can’t say that the majority of sluggers throughout the history of any level of baseball are built like him. Several of the top all-time HR hitters were built like Yelich. Ted Williams. Eddie Mathews. Griffey. Frank Robinson. Killebrew. All long guys with quick hands who managed to generate tremendous bat speed.
