    And this is why Freddy needs to be in AAA. Burnes can join him there. Let them rot for awhile. Having two guys taking up spots out there that cannot be depended upon at all is a big reason why Claudio pitches every single game.

    When we're taking consolation in the idea that at least our former MVP made contact while grounding into a DP, something is wrong. Why in the heck wasn't Yelich trying to steal 2nd during Braun's AB? He's running all the time this year, and that was a prime spot and he didn't.

    Nice to see Cain with a nice game. Need to get him going again. Now it would be nice if a few of these guys had a good game at the same time.

    Arcia is an exceptional glove man and has a little bit of pop in his bat. I don't know why you think it's as easy as just going to the Hall of Fame Baseball Player store and buying a shortstop or pitcher or whomever, but you do you. Sure it is, you just have to be willing to meet other teams prices. Stearns hasn't really shown that much of a willingness to do that in the past to this point. If you want to spend Walmart prices, then you get Walmart quality. This is ridiculously wrong.

    So the Orioles dealt a serviceable starter for two players that are the utter definition of lottery tickets. Cashner isn't a world beater, but he is solid. If this is the return on rental starters, the Brewers should be in the mix for some of the upper-end guys.

    This feels like one of those games where Davies pitches an efficient 7 innings with 1-2 ER. I just hope the bats can get it going against MadBum. C'mon guys ... march to the postseason starts right now. Time to get it in gear.

    7 runs is going to get you a win 9 times out of 10. The bullpen was crap tonight, and that's why they lost. Trading for a starter and a pen arm or two isn't going to solve every problem, but it would sure as heck makes this team more competitive. The offense is streaky, but playoff worthy. Pitching is holding them back ... specifically another good starter and the back end of the pen.

    Well, Taylor Williams just K'd Brett Phillips to get the save for the Missions ... so there's that. I do wonder who they are going to grab tomorrow when they inevitably send Dubon down. It would be nice if they sent Saladino down, but I think Counsell likes having that versatile crappy vet he can throw in anywhere.

    He was but there is just so much going wrong this year. Like everything besides Yelich and Moose. It's honestly a bit shocking they are still above .500. It feels like they should be a lot worse than that. This team was very good in April and May. They were underwhelming in June and have gone downhill even more in July. That obviously isn't a good trend.

    They're running out of time to find that recipe, tough. Can it happen? Sure. But a team with the line-up talent this team has should be better than it has been. They took a lot of chances on the pitching staff, and for the most part those haven't worked out.

    Well, it can also be argued that he perhaps has gone from someone who was 100% not available last season to a guy that can perhaps be had.

    It's a good thing Claudio can't be used again in this game, because Counsell would be all over that.
