  1. All 162 of them? Including, specifically, the 150+ that everyone has already played and that the Brewers have won more of than any other team in the NL except the Cubs? Obviously they all count, but all the games up to this point are done and you can’t so anything about them. Starting 9/12, when the Brewers had a great opportunity to take the lead, they laid an egg while the Cubs didn’t. That is all, and this will most likely result in the Cubs winning the division (barring an epic collapse by the Cubs, which I don’t see happening). Not sure why I’m wrong by saying this. You aren't wrong at all. This team picked quite possibly the worst time they possibly could to go into yet another offensive tailspin. After Monday's optimistic offensive showing, following it up with yesterday's absolute clunker is almost inexcusable. I mean, even the most optimistic Brewer fan couldn't have been happy with how they performed yesterday in a huge game.
  2. The problem is they have repeatedly proven in the second half that they are not going to take care of business against the Pirates and Reds. Who knows what happens in St. Luis. Forget about thier impressive path through the playoffs, they better be focused on getting there in the first place. You're right. The less than ideal showing over the last week indicates that we should not assume a spot in the playoffs is assured. This team was playing like a playoff team for a long stretch from mid August through early September. Now they aren't. I take that back ... the pitching staff is pulling their weight. But there is no such thing as half of a playoff contender. They need a few guys other than Cain and Yelich to step up. I'm looking at you Moose, Shaw, Schoop, Pina, Santana and especially Braun.
  3. At this point, I think I'd rather face an ace like Kershaw or Freeland. Frankly the Brewers offense has looked better this year against good pitchers than against scrubs like Lorenzen.* (* I know this probably isn't the case, but it sure as heck seems that way.)
  4. Only silver lining would be the Dodgers beating the Rockies again. Rockies gotta be feeling demoralized after the news about Story today. As a Brewer fan, I don't really want to back into the playoffs, but if it happens, it's better than missing it entirely. I don't think they'll be demoralized by a guy missing a few games. Didn't see the update on him. Rockies dodged a major bullet there.
  5. If Cain needs a day tomorrow, they better shift Yelich to CF and give either Santana or Braun a start with Granderson. Broxton can play CF in the 8th. He should be nowhere near the starting lineup. I have a feeling he will be, though, and probably batting 1st or 3rd, because CF.
  6. Dodgers are going to take that division. It's a three team race between the Brewers, Cardinals and Rockies for two Wild Card spots.
  7. Only silver lining would be the Dodgers beating the Rockies again. Rockies gotta be feeling demoralized after the news about Story today. As a Brewer fan, I don't really want to back into the playoffs, but if it happens, it's better than missing it entirely.
  8. Reds weren't swept by the Cubs. Cubs took two of three.
  9. You're right. Take the rubber match tomorrow, and they are still in solid shape. I would say that tomorrow's game is 100% a must-win, though. No more messing around.
  10. Wow ... totally uninspired performance on offense tonight. This team is without a doubt the most frustrating to watch since I've become a fan of this team. So often they show up at the park and just seem to mail it in. I know every team has off games, but the pitchers they faced tonight are utter crap. Tough to find excuses for this showing.
  11. Gotta love Granderson's patience there. Gosh I hope that rubs off on some of these guys.
  12. Agreed ... even several guys from the "gas can corps" came through. Now lets get some runs on the board so it isn't all for naught.
  13. Cardinals open up a 6-1 lead on the Braves. Barf. Man, the Braves do not intimidate me at all. That team seems entirely beatable.
  14. You are 100% correct. Scoreboard watching while watching the Brewers offense lay an egg is just frustrating. Not getting any help from so-called playoff contenders this week is frustrating as well.
  15. Offense should have stayed in the clubhouse tonight. They look like a completely different team than they did 24 hours ago. It's crazy.
  16. Thames has absolutely no clue right now. Up there guessing every time he bats.
  17. Beating good teams too. Meanwhile, the Pirates and Reds............. It is getting to be pretty excruciating that the Cardinals just won't go away. That team scares the crap out of me.
  18. Cubs out to a 2-0 lead in the 1st. Because of course they are.
  19. Domingo probably gets him there. He's not a great fielder, but has that cannon in RF. Why Granderson isn't in left right now, with Yelich in center, is a great question.
  20. Jacob Barnes finds his way into another key game. Barnes, who's been lit up like a match most of the year. While Guerra, who has looked utterly dominant in relief, watches.
  21. That is the only way they are going to get going tonight. Seem pretty disinterested in showing patience at the plate and manufacturing runs.
