  1. This is a weird feeling. I don't feel crappy like they lost, but don't feel great like they won. Just kinda blah. The defense was really disappointing today in the second half. They played well in the first half. But after King went down with his groin strain, they started playing a lot more zone, and Cousins was destroying them with underneath throws. They the defense just laid a big fat egg at the end to let the Vikings get back into a game they had no business getting back into. The pass rush is still a major issue. Lots of guys around cousins, but ver few closed the deal. Just a really frustrating game to watch, as they beat the Vikings for about 58 minutes. Watching the game in the second half, it wouldn't have surprised me to see the camera pan to Dom Capers sitting up in the coaching booth. I'm waiting for Pettine's aggressive defense to show itself. A lot fo playing on their heels today.
  2. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Brewers lose two to the Reds. One 1-2 series, and you're ready to throw in the towel? This team was the hottest in baseball before this weekend.
  3. Diamondbacks are scuffling, but are not dead yet They have something to play for against the Cubs this week. Reds don't against the Brewers. If the Brewers can take care of business, the rest can still work out.
  4. Cubs lost today too. They are scuffling on offense. Making up 2.5 games is still very much in play.
  5. I get it, but that's putting a lot of faith in the Cubs to continue playing good ball with some quality opponents coming up. That pen is in shambles. I guess they could pull it together, but the Brewers are in a much better place right now, record withstanding. I don't know about that. The Cubs are up three games in the loss column. I'd rather be in their position than ours right now. That's why I said record withstanding That close game luck is gonna run out at some point soon.

  7. Ugh ... Schoop cannot lay off the high fastball. It's that guy's kryponite.
  8. Oh man ... Moose stung that one. Shift got him perfectly.
  9. Vazquez hitting triple digits. The Pirates definitely have some building blocks, especially in that pen.
  10. That would brighten the day for a lot of Wisconsin sports fans.
  11. LOL, yeah ... the DBacks are very much on the outside looking in though. You are right, if the Brewers take care of business, they'll have a spot. At this point, I hope we get a chance at the Cubs in the playoffs. I think we match up very well.
  12. He's out at 2nd. If this isn't overturned, wow. Great tag by Schoop.
  13. Well, this certainly qualifies as a stinker. Particularly with everyone else winning (except maybe the Rockies). #1 goal is securing a playoff birth. Cardinals getting destroyed by the Dodgers helps that. Rockies losing helps that. Arizona is down late, which helps. If the goal is the division, obviously the Cubs losing sucks. But I don't see a lot of harm otherwise. Heck, even the Braves lost, which helps in the overall record department.
  14. I thought pulling Davies when he did was a pretty deft move when he probably could have left him in another inning. His choice of relief pitcher left a bit to be desired, though.
  15. When Yelich and Cain put together at-bats like that, you know it's not your night. Lace 'em up again tomorrow and win another series.
  16. This team has been the hottest team in baseball over the last month. They were due for a stinker or two. How they respond in the 9th and tomorrow is key.
  17. Pirates have some studs in their pen. They should have loaned a few to the Reds for this weekend.
  18. Guerra needs to be higher on the bullpen totem pole
  19. Runner on 3rd with no outs, and they managed to Brewer it up.
  20. Seemed like a perfect opportunity to pinch hit for Kratz. Alas ...
  21. Guerra could be an asset out of the pen. His stuff plays really well there. Not sure why they keep messing with Barnes.
  22. We'd also have to score, in that scenario. Cubs didn't today and still won
