  1. Guerra gutting out 6 innings tonight was huge. The team couldn't afford another short start tonight, and after the first inning, that's what it looked like it was going to be. Guerra buckled down, though, and was pretty great after that first inning.
  2. So by tomorrow afternoon? I wouldn’t count on that happening. I would be happy with a Dozier acquisition at some point. Yeah, probably a logistic impossibility at this point. I imagine something is going to happen on the trade front pretty quick, though. The dominos are starting to fall.
  3. I was thinking Medieros, although Medieros is younger.
  4. I know Saladino won it, but I would still love to see Arcia at SS and Dozier at 2B by the time this homestand is done.
  5. Big win ... only 1 1/2 back now. Cubs suddenly cold. Hey, the Cubs can get cold? Who would have thought. I thought they were going to run away with it?
  6. That is why you pitch Burnes the 9th and Knebel the 10th. #2-4 for Brewers batting bottom of 10th. I trust the 2nd inning of Burnes more than Williams nowadays. Perhaps they didn't want Burnes to be down for 3 days?
  7. Geez people ... he looks fine to me. Throwing it up there at 99, and the curve is humming. Doesn't matter if you are throwing 99 if you cant locate Threw a few great curves that inning as well. Hope its a good step for him. When he's right, he's dominant.
  8. Yep, this is exactly what the Brewers need to be looking to do. They are in the same situation with having more good prospects that need protecting than they have 40-man spots for. As for the trade, Tate is more name than production at this point, but he isn't bad. He'll probably slot into the Orioles rotation almost immediately. The other two pitchers look like potential relievers. Not a huge haul, but the Orioles did pretty well.
  9. That is about as certain as you're gonna get that "standing pat" is not gonna happen.
  10. Well, so much for that idea: https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2018/07/indians-claim-johnny-field.html Field is pretty much junk too, but the Indians got him for nothing.
  11. As in you think Broxton/Santana would be superior players? Cleveland is in a weird spot. They got aggressive with several years of control on Hand/Cimber, but they can probably wait out the outfield trades and probably go pretty cheap there. Their 2018 season opens about 70 days from now. I think if the Brewers and Indians were going to get together on an OF trade, it would have happened in the offseason or in spring training. The Indians are a good match for Broxton and a great match for Santana. But they decided to go with junk OFers instead, and it has bitten them. However, in that time, Santana and Broxton have turned in junk performances as well, so who knows? In any case, I bet they get Adam Jones for next to nothing.
  12. The Indians will go out and get someone like Granderson or Adam Jones for peanuts, and they will be just as bad as what they have in the OF. Just watch.
  13. If he were average, he'd be starting in RF for the Brewers on a regular basis. He was most decidedly below average before getting sent down.
