  1. His splits were better away LAST YEAR. Before that 3.75 home era and 4.40 road. Probably at lot more to do with who the opponents happened to be, or a couple blow up starts. After one year you can't just say he's terrible at home. And in 2015 a 6.10 ERA at home and 2.66 on the road albeit in limited innings. Davies himself has said he's more comfortable on the road. If this team is going to be a playoff contender this year, they are going to need Davies to be a solid pitcher at Millar Park. Simple as that.
  2. Sorta. That bullpen has already blown a save, Anderson's start was perfect, Suter was about what you expect from a back-end guy. Chacin was roughed up a little and Davies has been what he is, inconsistent. I'm not a big Davies fan personally, he does this way too often to be an ace...which he isn't, but we sorta pretend he is. Who's pretending Davies is an ace? He's a generally solid #3, who is pitching up to #2 right now due to an injury. If he were an ace, the majority of the posters here wouldn't have been stumping for an upper end starting pitching addition all offseason.
  3. Any time he K’s is this going to be the typical response? He’s 1-2 with a nice defensive play today. Getting a bit ridiculous. Strikeouts are coming fast and furious. Just because he has a drag bunt today and a SEMI nice play today doesn't make it a non issue. If he puts together a run of a few weeks, then has a bad game? Probably won't say anything. Trying to justify my hate for 100, Alex.
  4. Any time he K’s is this going to be the typical response? He’s 1-2 with a nice defensive play today. Getting a bit ridiculous. It's been that way since probably May of last year. There hasn't been a player more universally hated by a contingent of Brewer fans since pre-good Carlos Gomez. I don't get it really, either. He has miles more talent and potential than Sogard, but some fans just want him gone. Personally, while I think he is frustrating to watch, I hope they give him a pretty good size leash before moving to replace him. I still like the potential.
  5. Or you are reporting what BW is saying I know that is a parity account, but that doesn't stop it from being incredibly stupid, in my opinion.
  6. That's why I hope Vogt comes back heathy. He isn't near the defensive catcher Pina is, but the bat is similar.
  7. Can you declare a free agent signing a success after 4 games?
  8. I love Pina's arm behind the plate. He isn't flashy, but he's a solid ML catcher.
  9. Man what a great bunt by Villar. That's the kind of thing he's going to have to do to rescue his value to the team.
  10. Will be interesting to see Yelich's first action in RF today.
  11. Oh man ... here I was hoping it would be someone who hasn't been bad his whole career.
  12. Are we seriously scrounging up photos of the guy from 8 years ago, and looking at his time as a Single A player to judge an acquisition that we don't know will even happen? Sheesh!
  13. 100% agree. The nitpickers need to be quiet. The man is a national treasure, and the team is lucky to have him.
  14. Well Barnes, nice inning. Having good Barnes in that pen would be absolutely huge. So far, so good.
  15. Barnes getting the 9th. I hope Counsell isn't trying to get too cute.
  16. That was a nice piece of hitting by Villar. That's part of why he's so frustrating, though. The tools are there to be a stud middle infielder, but the lack of focus is so ... ugh.
  17. They aren't looking beyond Hader and Knebel. Those two profile as studs, and they don't look any deeper. Perhaps they also see Albers's numbers from last year, which lends credibility to the idea.
  18. It isn’t whether Brinson is really good or not...it’s when he gets there. If he is a huge sensation this year or as early as next thentrade can look pretty bad for us. If he never becomes special or takes years it’s way different. If Yelich is an All-Star, it doesn't really matter what Brinson does. Sure, it's nice to fleece another team from a fan's perspective, but the best trades are those that benefit both teams.
  19. Well, yeah ... but of all the things to complain about with Villar over the last couple years, lack of energy has never been one of them. I've never seen him dog it.
