  1. I recall the Brewers lighting this guy up when he was a Marlin, I might be wrong Why would the Rays basically give this guy away, his numbers were pretty good last year.
  2. Count me out on Jungmann, he looks like he maybe a big leaguer.
  3. Most of the board thought we overpaid for Ramirez These contracts are going to get bigger and bigger until enough owners mutiny amongst themselves.
  4. With the new TV contracts salaries are going to escalate, teams are going to be overpaying for almost everybody with a stick or an arm. Get used to it.
  5. what are these teams thinking???
  6. With the Royals signing Guthrie and trading for Santana and shopping Myers for a top of the rotation starter doesn't strike me as a team looking to shed any perceived assets to save money. The Royals are spending money, just not sure if the money they spent was wise.
  7. So the Phillies are out, so is Boston and Tex will go only 3 years, does 4/80 or 5/100 get this done, lets go with our young pitching, tweak the bullpen and let's go for this.
  8. I think that's a logical conclusion from that snippet. But remember Hamilton's camp floated the 5/$175M number, which to me says they're looking for $150M at the least. Still waaaaaay too much money for any team that stays sane. So with that said, maybe he winds up a Dodger? To be fair I think it was 7 years for $175 million or $25 million per year. Unless the Detroit owner cares even less than he did last year highly doubtful he gets that contract IMO.
  9. Gomez's value is probably at its peak, Melvin should strongly consider moving him (in the right deal).
  10. How about Gomez straight up?
  11. Not saying this is correct but there's a school of thought the Brew may not be able to add a #2 starter, I agree the bullpen needs to be revamped, bullpen spots are not terribly expensive though. If the right situation comes up another bat doesn't hurt, if you can add a RF/1B, seems to be the only open spot maybe you look at it. If Josh Hamilton says I will do 5/75 with you guys, I would have a hard time passing on that. With the emergence of the young starters the Brew are not backed into the corner despertaely needing starters (see Marcum and Greinke trades). GO BREW
  12. Since we're talking about Brewer stuff. I have this and its available. Each one is hand signed by Fielder # to 10 copies each.
  13. Going Sunday to get Murray and Henderson on my 3000 hit poster.
  14. Besides the fact that I'm predicting LuCroy will make the all-star team this year, aaahh no way in HECK!! Jim are you a Mets fan?? OMG that's an awful deal.
  15. Hello Everyone, I have a 20 game pack for 2013, SECT 213 row 8 (behind the Brewer dugout). If anyone has an interest in purchasing games please let me know. I have the Saturday package. if you buy half you would get 50% of the playoff games for 2013. PM with interest, thoughts questions etc... Thanks, Mike
  16. if all the money is the same are we saying Ramirez is better than Rodriguez at this point of their careers?
  17. Brewers could have had him for $12 million or less on a 1 year deal would seem crazy to sign him to a multi year?
  18. These contract predictions seem pretty outlandish to me. Under our situation maybe we can find this years Gio Gonzalez type of a trade/ Definitely check in with Tampa Bay.
  19. So the Angels bought out Haren for what $3.5 million? If I read this right we could have had Haren for basically $12 million and we trade a prospect (something is better than zero for the Angels). What am I missing here?
  20. If you have to trade Hart to get Hamilton why not just lock up Hart, he will be alot cheaper and then use that money elsewhere, the only way I sign Hamilton is if Hart stays.
  21. A nice year is one thing but the numbers he put up in a very good league was impressive, with that being said how much do we know about his bat speed, that ability is really paramount in the bigs, see Glenn Braggs Obviously OBP or batting eye plays a big role as well, Can Morris be projected to a 20 HR 90 RBI guy maybe batting 5th or 6th or is that too optimistic.
  22. Is Morris legit or did he just have a great Double AA season?
  23. If Bost, NY, LA Dodgers aren't interested and Texas seemingly not willing to ante up adding this guy on a 4 year $80 million dollar deal would be sweet, what a line up!!! We have good young starting pitching, tweak the bullpen, and we're right back in the thick of things! Hart would probably be lost via FA after this year.
  24. I went back a ways and didn't see any Aoki threads on the board. Feel free to move this but what is Aoki's contract/FA classification, are his rules different because he didn't go through the draft? Also, can this guy start and play CF? Thanks
  25. So over the next 4 days we need to be 2 back going into the last 6, I think we can get into a playoff with St. Louis, have to go to St. Louis, then Atlanta in consecutive days, what a crazy scenario.
