  1. I hope you're right and think you probably are but come on... Stearns is a massive reason this team is where it is.
  2. I agree with this 100%. If Stearns is willing to go against his track record and trade assets for a guy who is going to leave soon, you have to imagine he really does think this team can win it all and he obviously knows they need more help than just Machado (as much as he’d help). I also believe that there’s no way he stands pat if they don’t land Manny. You don’t involve yourself for a player like that just to not add anything should you not land him.
  3. I have no reason to doubt Rosenthal and yesterday he said the Brewers were fading. Now all of the sudden according to both him and Olney they’re right back in it. I’m not saying they are panicking, I hope that isn’t the case but it doesn’t seem completely out of the question
  4. Sources: Orioles making progress and narrowing their focus in the Machado trade talks. Phillies and Brewers appear to be among the finalists. From Buster Olney... Wonder if there’s just a wee bit of panic settling in
  5. It seems like the things that are now leaking or are beginning to get more specific. It really seems like this might be close.
  6. Seems that now more than ever they’d want Burnes in a deal.
  7. I’ve been in HH’s corner for awhile but I’m done. It seems like he’s making it up as he goes along now. Hope I’m wrong.
  8. Maybe I’m way off and speculating here but... Twins traded what I understand to be a mid to low level prospect straight up for Odorizzi. Odorizzi is a guy that Stearns was reportedly somewhat interested in. To me, it seems like the Brewers are probably in the midst of working on a better pitcher to not do a deal like that. Is it Arrieta? Cobb? I have no idea. Is this wild speculation on my part or does it make sense?
  9. Twins just signed Anibal Sanchez to an MLB deal. Does this potentially signal that they’re pulling back on Arrieta?
  10. I’m praying that this is not the move to add an arm. Miley is a batting practice pitcher at best
  11. HH says on Twitter that if Cobb isn’t a Brewer he’ll delete the twitter account. Take that for whatever it’s worth to you
  12. Not only because I love Cobb, but I hope HH nails this and shuts people up, specifically the more well known Brewers twitter accounts who do nothing but crap on him. I would love to see him nail this when nobody else is reporting anything similar
  13. Sorry, but there were a few people on here who ruined that opportunity. I respect that you stand your ground, I do. It does seem like the positive far outweighed the negative in terms of support for you though.
  14. I’m totally on board with you. Cobb wouldn’t have the shock value of an Arrieta, but I think there’s a good chance he ends up being the better pitcher over the course of the next 4-5 years. I would love to add Cobb and make a trade for an arm as well.
  15. Also mentioned Cobb and that also makes sense not really basing it on anything new it seems. Maybe not, but it seems to directly refute what Haudricourt thinks/is hoping
  16. If they get him for 3/70 I’ll do cartwheels
  17. Heyman just tweeted that Milwaukee is intent on adding an arm. Mentioned Arrieta and Odorizzi
  18. One of the guys from BrewCrewBall tweeted that he thought something was going to go down soon and shortly after Brewer World posted this 24 picture. I wouldn’t read too much into it.
  19. If that's the case, and I have no reason to doubt HH, then I feel like it gets done. It seems like Stearns and Co. really want Archer and if they're that close to the finish line I have a hard time seeing them not cross it.
  20. I have been refreshing non stop today hoping for some sort of juicy update from HH. Probably unfair to him as I am positive he has more important things to do, but none the less.
  21. It honestly seems like those of us here that have weighed on on the potential deal are split right down the middle. Interesting
  22. Out of all your tid bits of info this is my favorite
  23. Fair question, but what if he doesn’t? What if he doesn’t and you pass a chance to get a proven commodity now? I’m not saying you’re 100% off, but either way it’s a roll of the dice
  24. Just say no to the Rays and walk away. According to HH, Stearns did just that and told the Rays no. Don't get fleece by the Rays and make an awful trade, it's better to walk away. Just because you think it would be an awful trade doesn’t mean it would be. We likely wouldn’t know for sure for a couple of years.
  25. To me, if you're going to go out and give a package similar to what HH mentioned for Archer, I think you have to plan to sign another pitcher, whether that be Darvish, Cobb, Arrieta, or Lynn. One more solid to great arm to add to Archer, and this offense and you will really be in business. For the record, even with the steep price HH mentioned that Tampa wants, I would do it and I don't think I would think twice about it. It also feels like the dam is about to break and we're going to hear something either before or during the weekend. Just a gut feeling.
