  1. Going back to Lindsey’s TD on 4th and goal... how come Assisting the Runner is never called a penalty? The linemen clearly picked him up and threw him in the endzone.
  2. Tim Kurkjian. Didn't see it but I heard he was clearly annoyed that the Brewers were winning again. Add in David Ross and there you go.
  3. Culberson had the bat out in a position to bunt the ball and never pulled it back. It wasn’t that he was still trying to bunt the ball when he got hit in the face, it was that he never made an attempt to pull it back and therefor “offered at the pitch.” From the replays, it looked like the right call to me. The Lorenzen play isn’t comparable to me because a.) he made contact and fouled the ball and b.) the umps ruled he was pulling the bat back (which I disagree with, but that isn’t the point). Based on your interpretation of a strike on a missed bunt, every batter should just stick the bat out there and hope the ball hits it. That way, they aren’t “trying to meet the ball with the bat” and if the pitch is out of the strike zone, it would be a ball.
  4. The happy and disappointed posts probably coincide with good and bad game moments for the Brewers. Disappointed? You meant downright negative, right?
  5. This is a ridiculous statement. 21 of Rodgers 30 attempts last night were 10 yards or less. He threw 3 passes 40+ yards and completed 1 (one of the incomplete passes was the Hail Mary at the end of the 1st half) If there is any reason for the sluggish offense yesterday it was a combination of no preseason game action and the Bears D. Rodgers didn’t have a great game (missed some throws, not putting it in the best place for the receiver to get up field after the catch) but he is not the “biggest impediment to getting this offense going.”
  6. How many times is “every now and then” with regards to laying into an ump? He’s been ejected twice this season and that included the shouting match with Mike Estabrook. Best I can tell, over his managing career it looks like he’s been ejected 14 times.
  7. Yah people complain about Brian Anderson. Like...I don’t think they realize small market Milwaukee is going to have Craig Coshun’s of the world if he left. We’ve been able to get higher quality announcers than Coshun in the past when we’ve had an opening. Not sure why you assume we wouldn’t be able to whenever Anderson leaves?
  8. Our position players already have the 3rd highest BB% in MLB at 9.6%, only HOU (9.7%) & LAD (9.9%) are higher. This doesn't make my comment any less true by the way. If they do both they will be a dangerous offense. I do appreciate the stats. I didn't know they were that high. I dunno, I’d say it was half true at best.
  9. Smyly is on the Phillies now.
  10. Not because anyone says so, because the objective data seems to support Hader not being overused based on his ranks relative to other relievers in appearances/IP & the rarity with which he throws on consecutive days. I do not disagree with what the stats say but I do believe that if no moves are made and the stress level of the second half continues to grow the chances of having to push Hader to a level that may wear on him increase. Does anyone not agree that the Brewers need an additional high leverage option or we all good with a closer pitching twice a week and winging it the rest of the week?? I’m confused... didn’t he literally open his post with “I also don't disagree that they could use another back end arm.”? And don’t the stats back up that the overuse/misuse narrative is false?
  11. Why would they want to? So we can watch Santana butcher playing LF? You must have missed his bump of the trade thread where he is convinced we got fleeced on the trade...
  12. This is the stupidest non-issue EVER. It's the media and twitter that care and I don't even believe they do. What's the FIRST tiebreaker in soccer? Goal differential. What did Thailand do to Indonesia? They won....13-0. But these women are supposed to what, not try when they get a big lead? Bunting to break up a no-hitter is very different. This is another issue driven by twitter that's now getting media play...and it blows my mind. How about we just enjoy USA Women playing great? To be clear, I think this is a stupid controversy, not topic to be posted here. Since others are weighing in, including yourself, I guess it is a good topic to be pisted here. But you're welcome to apply for a job as a mod. He was saying the controversy is stupid, but it was still something legitimate to post. To the post about if the starters were still in. I believe you only get 3 subs in soccer, so most of the starters would be in for the whole game.
  13. It is an exhibition game... why does it need to be taken seriously?
  14. Really? Yep. Was it even close to a drop? Yes. On top of that, the 2B ump didn’t make any call. It was the 1B ump who made the call and I can’t imagine he’s where Braun can see him since he’s looking to Center. On top of the Moustakas is heading to 2nd and it looks like he thinks he has a double. It was anything but obvious and not as simple as you’re making it.
  15. Haha thanks buddy. Any time. Can’t wait for the next player to make a mistake I have to imagine nobody ever makes a mistake at their job based on the IGT most days.
  16. I simply don't care about the other 90%, I only care about the Brewers, and our 3B coach is bad, very bad. Doesn't change the fact that his judgement is poor in certain situations. He is bad at his job. Just repeating it doesn’t make it so and we’ve read your opinion of Sedar on this board enough to know where you stand. You don’t like him and think he does a terrible job, we get it He could make the correct call 20 times in a row and if on the 21st time the runner gets gunned out at home, we know who is going to be complaining in the IGT about good ol’ Windmill. There are posters who are trying to engage you to think about other 3B coaches and bring up people who have done statistical analysis on how often a runner should be sent, but you don’t care. You lose credibility when you aren’t even willing to consider that your viewpoint might be skewed because of your sample.
  17. I guess winning 63% of your games with two Sweet Sixteen appearances and three NCAA tourney appearances is doing nothing then?
  18. A greyshirt still exists but you aren’t on scholarship the first semester/year. Joey would have been on scholarship, so not a greyshirt. Again, are we just assuming this? A private school like Marquette can do so much without giving him an athletic scholarship for the spring semester. If he's a halfway decent student they can give him an academic scholarship. I find it hard to believe he burnt a year so he could to Marquette a half a season early and burn a year of eligibility. Football players routinely start school early so they can get a jump on spring practices and get the playbook down without burning any eligibility. You have 8 eligible semesters to complete within 5 years of enrolling....except in about a dozen different scenario's. I guess I don't really care until I know where he's planning on going anyway. If he goes to UVA, who cares how many years he has. If he goes to Madison, then I care a lot more. https://www.stevenspointjournal.com/story/sports/2018/01/19/decision-enroll-early-marquette-tough-call-joey-hauser/1046777001/ Article from Jan 2018 - indicates he was enrolling early and redshirting to rehab his ankle injury. Would have 4 years of eligibility remaining starting the 2018/2019 season. There is a possibility he could get a waiver to get the year back, but I’m not sure how likely that is to be approved and I believe he needs to use all of his eligibility before he can apply for it.
  19. That used to be called a Grey Shirt. It was a way of delaying enrollment, especially in football for potential preferred walk on's hoping to get a scholarship as someone will inevitably lose one. So I'm not convinced he loses that year. Not yet anyway. I'm also not even sure a Grey Shirt is still a thing. I do know the Badgers were still using it about 6-7 years ago. A greyshirt still exists but you aren’t on scholarship the first semester/year. Joey would have been on scholarship, so not a greyshirt.
  20. Braun was lucky as hell when he tried to stretch that single into a double earlier in the game. He was a dead duck but the Mets' infielder dropped the pass. Good throw and, I agree, he is out by a bunch. With where the throw was, I think it woulda been real close if Rosario didn’t drop it.
  21. Projections are biased just like mocks. You chose projections for Gary that fit your narrative so you could assign your points and declare the Packers didn’t get enough value in the draft to the point where you said it was equivalent to losing a 2nd or 3rd round pick. You also stated that they could have traded down (without knowing if this was even an option) AND picked the same player or get a player of equal value. There is also no way the Packers had full knowledge they would be trading up to draft Savage when picking at 12. You wonder why people are disagreeing with you because you keep stating things as a fact when you don’t necessarily know anymore than anyone else here on the draft and definitely don’t have more knowledge/information than the Packers on it. If the Packers had Gary as one of the top edge/DL guys and Savage as their top safety on their board, I’d argue they felt like they got great value with those picks. While we’ll never know for sure, there are reports that other teams were interested in both players and they could have been gone when the Packers would have had their next opportunity to get them.
  22. That is pretty much my expectations with replay. I know we had one of the worse reversal rates last year (or was it since replay started?) when Counsell challenged a play. Wonder what the rate was when opposing teams challenged a play was as well?
  23. The draft pick slot value wasn’t what OnTheBlack was saying came out of no where... the value that brewcrewdue80 placed on the players the Packers selected to come up with his negative value of the draft was... and he was absolutely correct with that. To say with certainty, as brewcrewdue80 did, that the Packers lost the equivalent of a 2nd to 3rd round pick with where they drafted players AND they should have got that for trading down from 12 AND they could have then got the same players (or players of equivalently value) is what seems made up and pretty far fetched to me.
