  1. Anti-Midwest bias, and McCarthy’s appearance. Just my two cents.
  2. Very unnecessary hit from Clowney. Would be a shame for Philly to lose Wentz on a play like that.
  3. Nah, makeup calls are only in baseball. In the NFL, the league is all about telling the fans not to believe reason and their own eyes. Hence, "we did review it [in only 10 seconds] and determined there was nothing that rises to a foul on the basis of visual evidence [that we care to explain to you peons]." We've always been at war with Eastasia...
  4. Going to get criticized a lot more if Brees doesn’t touch the ball in OT. Every time I wonder "what would it have been like if Green Bay hired Payton and not MM?" I remember, there's probably a reason he's only won one Super Bowl with a Hall of Famer of his own, and it isn't all bad officiating. That being said, Saints fans are going to have more officiating controversy to get worked up about after this one.
  5. The longer this goes, obviously, the more I want a Saints win. I want the team with extra hits and extra minutes on their bodies coming to Green Bay, not San Francisco.
  6. These thoughts have crossed my mind, as well. But then again, matchups aren’t apples to apples like that. Maybe the Vikings just match up well against the Saints, or maybe the Saints are having one of their flat weeks out there. What we know is that the Packers have not been outmatched by the Vikings in our two meetings this year, and in fact have looked quite comfortable for most of those games. While I suspect the Packers could do well vs. the Saints in Green Bay, this is such a quirky sport that I’m not confident enough to necessarily prefer them over the alternatives. I guess what I’m saying is that nothing the Packers do against anyone (besides beating the Ravens in the Super Bowl) would shock me, so it’s hard for me to find strong rooting interests so far this postseason.
  7. Watching Taysom Hill play makes me sad. Every single time.
  8. Time for Wisconsin to get cold again. Enough of this global warming business. I’ll keep my car parked and walk to work for the next two weeks if it gets the tundra frozen between now and our (likely) matchup with New Orleans.
  9. Dang it, Seattle
  10. That’s as close as you can get... holy cow
  11. So I’m thoroughly convinced the Packers aren’t really good enough for this to likely matter, but I don’t know if I’d rather play San Fran or the team that swept them. But either way, I’d rather it goes down at Lambeau.
  12. Kittle is an absolute nightmare. We would have no answer for that guy.
  13. All’s well that ends well.
  14. Thought Crosby missed it...
  15. Rodgers’ best throw was that delivery on the screen.
  16. Defense just went 3 and out.. Admittedly, that was an emotional response. Figured the lions could get into Prater’s FG range.
  17. This is 100% on Rodgers. He lost this game.
  18. Defenders for lions have been arriving early all game, and now you call offensive PI? Horrible, but predictable.
  19. There are my lions. Let’s go, Rodgers. Get it together.
  20. No one on this team is laying down the law. It’s cool LaFleur brought a new culture, I guess, but is anyone holding anyone accountable? It starts with being able to tell 12 he has his head up his posterior. LaFleur is a players coach thus far, but people need their butts chewed in that locker room, and I’m not sure anyone in this organization can do it.
  21. Stupid blown coverage by the Rams all but costs the Packers any chance to get home field advantage. That’s disappointing.

  23. The story after this one will be the emerging narrative around LaFleur. Either the Packers get their first road win over a good team (Cowboys and Bears weren’t and aren’t good) in his tenure and his team is showing growth towards being elite, or they lose and the question becomes “when will LaFleur win a big game on the road?” While that is what the story will be, what it SHOULD be is, “will Rodgers ever commit to doing what it takes to get everything he can out of this offense—and himself?” For all the angst about scheme, play calls, and pass catching talent (and those are all valid), Rodgers’ technique has become woefully sloppy of late. His throws are off-platform, he’s doing whatever he wants with his feet; it’s like after watching Favre for years and now Mahomes, he thinks to himself “I don’t need to sweat the technique, either.” Or maybe he’s getting lazy. Either way, he doesn’t have the playmakers to not be precise with his delivery. And now that he’s more reticent than ever to push the envelope and risk turnovers, the offense teeters on catastrophic failure half the time. Is it logical to imagine the coaches don’t know this? Is it logical to assume Rodgers doesn’t know it? And if they know and nothing changes, what does that say about the efficacy of their coaching and the mindset of Rodgers? THAT should be the story if the Packers lose. But it won’t be. And that’s a shame. Either way, let’s just hope they win. Winning fixes everything.
