  1. If only we could body-swap Lewis and Winker… 🫠
  2. Arizona is really struggling. Lost four straight to end the year, six of their last ten. Plus their run differential on the year is negative 15. The Brewers should be decisive favorites, but three game series are so random.
  3. Just watching TB-Tex is getting me anxious, and I couldn’t care less about the outcome. All playoff sports are intense, but there’s something about the slower, but unrelenting agony of baseball that affects me differently. That, and watching Glasnow pitch well but get no run support and see his defense commit three errors and another couple makeable plays failed behind him is a brutal watch. I’m hoping this is not a preview of Burnes’ fate tonight!
  4. So we haven’t been an ESPN household for many years, but have watched regular season games on Fox Sports/Bally Sports Wisconsin. Now I’m up against it for this week, since it’s all ESPN2. I’m doing a free trial for Hulu and ESPN+, but I’m not seeing if that covers me or if I need a different package. Any knowledgeable posters out there who can offer any guidance for navigating the labyrinth that is modern sports streaming? It would be much appreciated!
  5. I lived through le affair de Braun. I’m not about to take anyone’s self-defense at anything remotely close to face value. I’m not saying I know what happened, but I am saying I’m sure I don’t know.
  6. Sickening. I feel terrible for him. On the plus side…contract offer?
  7. Or is this guy Pfaadt as in fad? Or Pfaadt as in phat? So many questions…
  8. Moving on from all three this winter would be be approaching Marlins-level sell-off. While that analogy would imply a World Series victory (sign me up), it doesn’t seem in keeping with the team’s recent m.o. There is an emerging young core of position players that figures to put us in too strong a position in a middling division to just trade all three right now. One or two getting dealt wouldn’t shock me, but compensatory picks aren’t the worst consolation prize for running it back another time. And if the team face-plants like the Cards, there’s always the deadline. Long story short, I don’t anticipate the brass having made up their mind to sell off the rotation, and so I don’t expect this to be a factor in CC’s decision. He began in that front office, and has been an integral part of the decision making team since the beginning. If he hated the way they operated, I think he would have been gone a while ago.
  9. How can you not be a romantic about baseball?
  10. Yup, cubs lose and they’re on life support. I kind of almost want to see the marlins lose the next two and the cubs take the next two just to make Miami have to go back to New York on Monday and get that much more tired, but let’s be real—it’s too cute. Let’s just flush these turds.
  11. Newman is just the worst, and he’s been the worst for a while now. I mean, I’m glad Hanson is gone, but, we still have his doppelgänger on the interior who can’t even be a speed bump. That film should come with a content warning.
  12. If not now, when? I know the Packers don’t historically do these things mid-year, but do they really think they’re going somewhere? And if the answer is we’re waiting until the offseason for Leonhard to finally walk down the aisle with us, I gotta say, I’m kind of over waiting for that romance to go anywhere.
  13. I don’t know how far I want to take it, but there is a lot of outside speculation about the organizational structure and how it pertains to employment decisions. Put a gun to my head, and I don’t know who is hiring/firing whom on this team these days. But the Barry scheme isn’t a good look for anybody, I know that for sure.
  14. He has said enough in public over the years that isn’t exactly calling Barry out by name, but isn’t exactly subtle, either. And LaFleur isn’t typically the type to handle these things publicly. It’s almost like MLF isn’t the one making the call on Barry…
  15. I think some of this was game script dependent. They were probably at 150 or so until it was run out the clock time, then they just ran over people for a few 10-yard runs when the Packers D was tired and ready to quit. And I don’t mean to excuse their performance. Run D is still a huge problem.
  16. I’m no expert, and I’m willing to wait to see some stats and reviews here, but I’m going to go out on a limb and say I’d be shocked if Walker grades out well tonight. Seemed to me like he was getting worked. Everyone else was, too, but you need a lot better from LT. Just my impression.
  17. How far in the doghouse must Nijman be to not even crack this offensive line right now?
  18. Good point, I just need a perspective change!
  19. Never thought I’d see the year when Green Bay is the third most exciting professional team in Wisconsin. And it isn’t even particularly close. I know this is as much a testament to the Milwaukee teams’ formidability as it is Green Bay’s weakness, but it is still remarkable.
  20. Well, good time for a mini-bye, at the very least. They’ve got a lot to look at.
