  1. But, oh no! Four run lead. We’ll probably get Chafin now…
  2. Uhhhh, Arizona? Time to wake up now.
  3. He has by far his most appearances at 4th, so the other lineup spot appearances are very low sample sizes, but you are right. His worst OPS by a wide margin is when he’s 4th. If I had to guess, the thinking by CC is that he doesn’t hit into a lot of double-plays and he doesn’t K much, either. That batted ball profile could, over time, play better in run-producing situations than guys who have been striking out there a lot (anecdotally, I’d point to Adames and Tellez as major culprits on this front, but I’m too lazy to check the stat page to confirm).
  4. I was surprised to not see Turang noted as a defensive standout in this write-up (the only mention he gets is as part of a “promising young trio” of outfielders—oops, Fangraphs). His case would seem to fit the article’s narrative perfectly: the Brewers have gone all-in on run prevention to the point of sacrificing hitting ability in the process. Turang is the poster-boy for this strategy thus far.
  5. The Vikings start 0-2 and are officially on doom watch. An 0-3 start drops their historical playoff odds to a minuscule amount—well under 5% of 0-3 teams end up in the postseason.
  6. Q: What do you do about Wiemer? A: Just kidding—here’s the real answer:
  7. I’m going to have to report this for not fitting the narrative. Unacceptable commentary.
  8. 4 games up. I’d love to keep it that way for a couple weeks.
  9. The cheese is getting binding in Denver
  10. I think there’s a guy behind home plate at the Cubs-Rockies game who is impersonating Steve Bartman.
  11. We’re preparing for our playoff strategy of starting Megill in two consecutive games and Joe Buck losing (what remains of) his mind.
  12. Can we get an article writer to do a breakdown on whether or not Josh Donaldson’s tepid reaction to the Willy Adames signature Gatorade bath tonight is a worrying sign for team chemistry? Inquiring minds want to know…
  13. Donaldson is already approaching Schoop levels of production—and it’s only been two games!
  14. There is a lot of conjecture here, and not a lot of substance. Are we going for a TMZ vibe now, or just Cubs fan wishcasting?
  15. What an awful break for all involved, but Rodgers and Jets fans most of all. Absolutely rotten news. He seems destined to be the most brilliant talent to ever hang it up with only one ring. What a shame.
  16. Can’t count on the Rox to be rational. At any rate, I say, eff you, Jobu. We’ll do it ourselves.
  17. Only could watch the last 15 minutes. How much of it was the Bills playing like dog doo and how much the Jets being dominant on defense?
  18. Yeah, but it doesn’t disprove we have a good one, either… *insert tapping temple gif*
  19. Maybe he’s going to try to out stage his 2018 second half Michael Jordan impersonation against the Bears?
  20. Replay didn’t look that bad. He stood up, then sat down. Now he’s getting carted off? He couldn’t make it one series? Gotta be kidding.
  21. At this rate, I'm not sure it will ever happen, but it would be really interesting to see what MLF could cook up with Watson, Doubs, Musgrave, and Jones all on the field simultaneously. I guess we'll have to content ourselves with only 2 or 3 out of 4 on any given game day. Kind of a shame, really.
