  1. i love that this is a "problem" we have.... we have some lights out arms in the pen. some struggling, yes... but most teams wish they had ONE of JJ, Knebel, Hader.....
  2. i support this thread. those are filthy numbers vs righties.
  3. @Chicago South (2-1) @Cleveland (0-2) @Philadelphia (1-2) vs Chicago North (2-1) vs Philadelphia (3-0) @ Pittsburgh (2-1) vs St. Louis (2-2) vs Kansas City (2-0) @ Cincinnati (3-0) 17-9. Start cold and then heat up again. Peralta takes Davies spot vs Cubs and blows them away sets the tone for a big series win. End of the month Stearns makes a big trade for Manny Machado, and joins us in Cinci where he goes 6-12 on the weekend with 3 homers and we score 30 runs in 3 games. Finally gaining respect from the baseball world. Now the NL favorites to represent them in the WS. I know I'm dreaming, but... so?
  4. I agree with this, and believe this will be true. The fact he still is "sore" after all this shoulder talk... makes me believe (as i have said many times now) he is hurt more than we have heard. Question is, who will take his spot in the rotation? No one for now. With off days today, then next Monday and Thursday, they can afford to go a man short in the rotation. Probably won't need a 5th starter until the Cubs series starting on the 11th. Brain fart - makes sense then. I would love to see Peralta come up and roll the dice for that Cubs series , TBH... see what happens.

  6. THIS is the craziest stat. Think about that... not ahead in the 9th, or the 8th... but the 7TH.
  7. From the bullpen (early returns) a great move was Matt Albers signing. A bad move Boone Logan. Yelich and Cain moves look fantastic so far this year. Khris Davis - yea forgot that one - yikes. (but that is not 'over' yet, and Khris Davis is essentially Chris Carter) Junior as just a wavier claim? a slam dunk yes. Shaw ended up a fleecing Manny Pina also was somebody he got on the cheap , right? His best moves though?.... NOT spending tons of money on bullpen or starters this last off season. They almost ALL have been busts or hurt. He followed the old football draft philosophy of "best available player" and then making it work with us. How awesome does our OF 1b depth look now? Into this year , strongly disliked Drake, Bandy, Sogard, and Boone Logan. 2/4 are now gone. He's doing a good job of taking out the trash when the garbage men come. Let's hope he continues to upgrade the bottom of the roster, because thats where we will see gains. I love the top of our roster (sure we could use some more starting pitching - but that's most teams), but if we can continue to move the bottom closer to the middle... we will be successful!
  8. As I said , I don’t know that I would have gone to Knebel there ... with zero room for error. But it worked out. And on top of that, the confidence that Corey will get from cominnin and getting that big strikeout ... hopefully will only help down the road.
  9. that was a HUGE K for him. Didn't like the move but... my gosh that has to help his confidence. and we just took a series from one of the monkeys on our backs!
  10. They have had two throws today that have been right on the runner otherwise we would have been safe both times... lol. our luck right now...
  11. Junior looks pretty good today. Only problem Reyes looks filthy... gotta grind out 0's til Reyes hits pitch count! and i just figured this was a STL based Facebook feed.
  12. Except, he does. The Cubs are widely loved by everyone everywhere, especially media... but Rizzo has been known to be "old school" as they call it... Baez is "spirited".. it's all how the narrative is spun
  13. you aren't missing much sound wise... i can promise you that Junior Guerra was picked up from the White Sox in the rule 5 draft in 2017.... things i learned today.
  14. why does it seem we have given off a leadoff runner in every inning the last couple weeks lol
  15. And the year before if I remember correctly. I hear you guys, but the shoulder thing sure is scary... i have my doubts. This "bad" Davies is worse than the typical bad Davies isn't it?
  16. Davies , in my opinion , has a more serious injury but is trying to pitch through it. He's not right by any means, and they need to figure that crap out cause getting hammered like he has been is sure not setting us up for anything but disaster.
  17. [sarcasm]Goggles at SS, great![/sarcasm]
  18. That game cast spot is closer than it was in real life , after seeing the replay wow that was inside . And that was our chance to get back here now it’s blah
