  1. Oh neat. Sogard got in already ! Oh he struck out looking already too. Super cool!
  2. I am tickled pink Bandy was sent packing. I am confused as to the manner of his ouster.... with internal candidates. Stearns as been pretty spot on with most of his chess moves and non moves. But some this year have been very strange on the surface. Let’s hope he’s just setting us up for the long con and going to show his big hand at some point...
  3. I can get behind this 100% not that it’s our call but yeah good work should be rewarded - just like there should be some form of decline penalty for absurd deals. It’s nice to see some teams moving away from those bad bad deals but it’s not a perfect system by any means !
  4. I see your guys point to. Sometimes forget how ‘old’ he is. I forget I’m 34....and all these guys seem young! we aren’t getting any younger lol
  5. I hope they take care of the guy. We gave him his big break. He gave us production. We pay him decently , all should be well. Fingers crossed!
  6. Also I hope Travis Shaw takes up third base at Miller Park as his career home. I just love the guy and the swing fits here so so so well.
  7. In the words of Michael in the Office when Toby came back.... No... God NO.. No... God... NOOOOOOOOOO
  8. I was relieved to come back to the board this evening ... not seeing Sogard in the lineup. Yet.
  9. I’m disappointed our assumption from this morning ended up the truth
  10. Again, what would be your alternative? Sogard is consistent at SS, his arm is below average for the spot...but he makes the routine plays and has decent range. All this boo Sogard, but if you can't mention a viable alternative it just sounds like whining. They just found a catcher give a shot to, why not do that? It is "boo Sogard" because I'm tired of giving Counsell players that he will end up playing too much. Is that whining? Sure go ahead and call it that but this move is flipping ridiculous. He wasn't even hitting in Colorado Springs. Perez, Sogard, and I'm sure Saladino will follow suit soon. Recipe for a disaster of lineups. CC this Sunday says, hold my beer!
  11. is Nottingham eligible to come off the minor league DL yet? I know they have a 7 day , correct?
  12. Again, what would be your alternative? Sogard is consistent at SS, his arm is below average for the spot...but he makes the routine plays and has decent range. All this boo Sogard, but if you can't mention a viable alternative it just sounds like whining. Oh I am 100% whining and I know it... lol. If they are getting a backup catcher for a few $$, cant we find a fresh middle infielder the same manner? Give Orf a shot and Saladino a chance to play every day. Villar may be a better SS than Sogard.... Perez a better 2b man than Sogard... (ok ok that sentence may be a stretch.) UGH just I've had enough of the Franklin's and the Sogard's of the world! Saladino was a welcome addition, Stearns is good like Melvin was at finding that guy who needs a change of scenery and then ride them til they go back to normal career levels.... sign up JJ Hardy bring him home cheap to make a championship run with us as a bench player... IDK. I just have such high hopes I want to see some exciting moves, not ones that make me throw up in my mouth. Rant over. I'm done whining now. lol. I now realize this is the back end of the team and , no, doesn't mean much - as long as CC knows that and sits him deep on the bench where he belongs... but I don't trust him to do that...
  13. i think it's important to point out that we're all assuming that kratz will have his contract selected (it hasn't been yet). the brewers could select the contract of any other catcher in their minor league system, as there is an open spot on the 40-man and keep kratz at colorado springs. please select Bentancourt or bring Nottingham up (not sure if his DL stint is complete but it has been 7 days i think?)
  14. i hate this. arcia. yes makes sense. SOGARD? dear god.... and this catcher thats worse than bandy... dear god..
  15. Salvador Perez would be a massive upgrade to Pina, and is a fantastic weapon offensive and defensively. That being said, he is the face of KC now..... and likely would take a Yelich+ Type Package ... But the though of him batting behind Shaw or Santana... ohhhhh thats gets you salivating.
  16. THey need to cement his feet in the box and tape the bat to his shoulder maybe he can see a pitch come in then
  17. I’m sorry but this wins the day. Brewers played like crap today and this sums it up.
  18. Orlando. Arcia.
  19. http://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/23588424/welington-castillo-chicago-white-sox-gets-80-game-suspension-violating-mlb-drug-policy Yikes. You'd have to think he was a trade target for some teams, possibly even the Brewers.
  20. It may have been a mutual decision, but I guess I just never got the feeling that the Brewers tried hard at all to sign him after making the diagnosis. With the 14th pick in the draft, it was very odd to just say "His family wants to keep him home, and we're OK with that". I'd love to know the rest of the story, but I still think it doesn't really paint a positive picture of the previous Brewer front office. And you are right, while he probably got good care in college, it likely paled in comparison to what the Brewers could have (and in my opinion, should have) provided. I remember this story! It was more so Dylan and his family. The Brewers were aware they'd have to do more and were willing. Still made an offer after all that , of which Dylan turned down. Either way it's nice to see him do well! This would be a good story to hear the fullness of both sides and to see his success now, is a great people story! The Milwaukee Brewers selected Covey in the first round, with the fourteenth overall selection, of the 2010 Major League Baseball (MLB) Draft. He indicated to the Brewers that he was likely to sign with them, but that he wanted a $2 million signing bonus.[2] During his post-draft physical, Covey was diagnosed with Type I diabetes. He decided not to sign with the Brewers, as he needed time to adjust to having this condition.[4][5] Covey's party was quoted as saying, "They [Milwaukee] knew they would have to do some special things for Dylan." He ended up turning down a $1.6 million signing bonus offer from Milwaukee.[3] also more: http://archive.jsonline.com/blogs/sports/100814479.html
