I haven’t seen a replay but that throw looked like it had no chance to me. When he threw it I thought they were trying to throw short of end zone and break a tackle but looked like trying to squeeze it in to front of ez when Steelers were defending end zone with 7 guys. Either extend play or just lob it up for grabs Hail Mary like, it’s a tough conversion but didn’t seem like a good play call.
I mean, it's likely top of the 5th round to a lower 3rd round pick not sure what the equivalent value is but probably a 4th rounder? Better than nothing I guess.
Yeah, they can't get a deal done with Jaylen Johnson so look to trade him and then trade a high pick to another guy they are going to have to pay? I just read they are going to have a ton of cap space but they sure don't value their draft picks much. It doesn't sound like Raiders will trade Davante which seem pretty weird too but maybe there are cap issues with doing that.
@Chi where they tend to struggle and then SF at home next 2 games, they are going to need Jefferson to get back quick. Also have Detroit and GB twice and @CIN down the road. They need to go 8-4 to have a shot, not impossible but they are probably closer to trading Cousins at the deadline than the playoffs at this point. I really thought they would pull the upset yesterday and then beat Bears and be right back in at 3-3.
So now that we are 3 games in and maybe even have some playoff aspirations does trading for JT make more sense? Dillon looks done and Jones is getting long in the tooth and already missing games. Maybe Indy will take a 2nd rounder now and be done with him? Of course the elephant in the room is do we want to pay JT premium RB money but if healthy he sure would help this year and we would need to invest draft picks in the position next year anyway.
We knew his season could be bumpy, add Watson and Bakh situations and this start was predictable. Let’s see if Love can put something together and get some momentum for Thursday for the O
That 17 million of new money in 23 was brought up quite a bit in the discussion here last year, maybe some was roster bonus but of course after the restructure I can’t prove anything so I will let it go since I certainly could be wrong.
ok I looked 9.5 roster bonus and 5.5 base was converted to bonus. That’s 15, right? And weekly per game bonuses? How far off do you think 17 million is?
Brewerfan,
Bakh had a 17 million dollar base salary for 23 (pre restructure)that was not guaranteed, yes it would have been a huge dead cap hit but he was cuttable and would have saved some cap space and got us out from under that contract. I gave them the benefit of the doubt that they know more than we do about the knee but at this point it looks like the wrong decision. 40 million cap hit next season…
They said on the radio Bakh played on Thursday last year after playing on Sunday so he has actually taken a step back after an offseason. Throwing good money after bad just hoping they can squeeze something out of that unfortunate contract. Oh well, let’s get this one.I am going to the game Thursday so would be nice to go in 2-1. Go Pack!
Bak, Watson, Jones, Alexander all out. I don’t know what the number was after the restructure but Bak was due 17 million in new money this year, I have no idea what the FO was thinking, same guy as last year.
